sure fraps works...problem with these full screen capture tools is that they kill your frames so very badly, usually when i play FPS games i like to record a demo and then make the video from the demo itself...
we need some sort of demo recording for Guild Wars (not sure if they're already in)...and while you're at it...we also need spectator options for Guild matches

like when you type demo_record <name>
then it records but it saves it in a format only readable by the half-life 2 and css
i think they should do it too
and if its only readable by the GW engine then i think they should make it to where you can watch movies without having to sign in to the game
but i would hope that it would save it as a format that is readable by most media viewers like winamp and media player
and they would also need to let you choose the quality/size of what ur recording.....
but i guess i should really be posting this in the suggestions thread...
and i WILL!!
ty though for the idea!
/gives props

ummmm......
what?
ur saying get it from kazaa(bootleg) but exeem is better?
ive never heard of exeem
and kazaa wont work on my comp ne more for some reason
Demo recording...put simply...is where they only save instructions to the game engine. Thus, as mentioned by the esteemed Agent Dark Bootie...it is only readable by the game. This is why most Warcraft III demos are only several kilobytes (not above 100) whereas, as mentioned earlier, a few seconds of full motion video capture using fraps goes to several hundred megs. Also, there is no lag while recording demo since you are only saving instructions...whereas playing while using fraps is like watching a slideshow. Its been mentioned a lot before that this game is more like Team Fortress than World of Warcraft...for me at least, demo recording is an essential part of this.
not possible...you need the resources and scripts from the engine to be able to view a demo. Think of watching a demo as watching a cutscene...not a piece of video.
Feel free to suggest this...the more people that do, the better. However, I've seen this brought up before, with no reply from the developers. I'm not sure if they missed it, or if they simply thought it was a bad idea...its worth bringing it up again...

ty for that info
and i agree that it is very important
lots of people will want to make a video and such of certain events
lol i tried to record myself beating the entire game of hl2 from start to finish lol
<<-------- sad
but even then there would be competitions and stuff and i KNOW that it would be great for poeple looking for tutorials on how to go and do things

i mean say you want to replay the last 50 seconds and your replay would have to remember different things every second so in five minute, you wont be replaying the same 50 seconds
if your saying it should have a "keep a replay from this moment till i say stop" thing, then its the same as recording.
and if you mean in guild/8vs8/4vs4 battles, then couldn't and wouldn't people spam it and such and make a REALLY long match or maybe the match is unintentionally long
wouldnt that affect gameplay?
if not then sure id agree a replay would be great in official battles
but this would go along with a few previous statements.
people outside the battle could wait till the match is over and see a replay of what happened
and it would give the scores, who killed who, who got first blood, who got last kill, etc. etc.

dude! get back on topic!!
lols sorry kinetic
my guess is that it will be either a model of gail frollicking like gwen was and doing as she did lol
or a new monster like a dragon that will be unleashed in every city that will kill everyone
