Tactics 10

(still have 14 atts but dunno where to put them)

Seeking Blade
Pure Strike
Savage Slash
"Watch Yourself"
Gash
Final Thrust
Healing Signet
Res Signet (i always carry it around)

16 armor shield and 15-22 sword

is there anything i would need to switch around? i can't farm worth crap in higher level areas :/

Let me know if someone does send it, since I'm very interested in watching this build in action.

Could anyone that has seen it in action tell me how this build is played and where it is at it's best farming?

as you saw last night, it did nothing for me while alone. Its great if the two of us go but I would like to be able to build something that lets me stand alone.

Mo/Me

I've been using the same Suicide Monk technique, but with an altered build with my Mo/Me.

I pack Balthazar's Spirit, Zealot's Fire, Mend Condition, Divine Boon, Reversal of Fortune, Shielding Hands, Physical Resistance, and Shield of Judgement. I realised this morning that Divine Boon has no recast timer, is only 5 mana, and only takes a second to cast. I think I may be able to remove Reversal of Fortune in favor of spamming Boon. If I can (and maybe if I can't) I will sub in Balthazar's Aura for RoF.

My monk is prot/smiting/df/inspiration.

Troll's ungeunt and ethereal feast just don't cut it and whirling defense is worthless without lightning reflexes and dryder's defense chained with it. If you do this, you'll have almost no room left for dealing damage. It's possible, I suppose. But unless you're dead set against it (and enjoy the initial frustration), make a new character for it.

On a good note, my ra/me is hella fun in PvP (which is why I'm not going to change my secondary just to farm).

My personal best with E/MO is AoE killing four L24 Blessed Griffons in Snake Dance. It requires some tuning, spell timing, and mob placement, those things can get nasty if you are not careful.

Build: (Healing 9, Earth 8, Fire 11, Energy Storage 8.. approximate)
Mending
Essence Bond
Healing Hands
Armor of Earth
Aura of Restoration
Meteor Strike
Flame Burst
Lava Font

Note that all the PBAE spells are needed because Blessed Griffons cast spell breakers after 3 spells.

Have fun with this farming build cause I certainly am enjoying it! (can't beat 120g per kill and top equipment drops)

A Lovely Suburb

Here's the build I've been using to farm Mantle in Riverside:
(This is a variation on a build posted by Virtuoso a while ago)

Mo/W
Healing Prayers 13 (I have a Major Rune in this)
Divine Favor (leftover points, I forget offhand what it comes to)
Axe 8 (enough to use my best Axe)
Tactics 12

Healing Breeze
Mending
Watchful Spirit
Live Vicariously
Balthazar's Spirit
Cyclone Axe
Gladiator's Defense
Bonetti's Defense

Mending and Watchful Spirit give a constant 6 pip Regen. The bulk of the damage is done by Gladiator's Defense, which since Mantle hit rapidly is condiderable. Cyclone Axe adds a bit of damage and a generous chunk of health (with Live Vicariously), and also helps charge up Bonetti's Defense faster. Bonetti's refills the energy bar to make using Cyclone and Gladiator's easier. Balthazar's Spirit just adds a bit more energy and adrenaline to the mix. Healing Breeze is useful to pump regen to 10 for those times incoming damage is overwhelming 6 pips. Bonetti's and Gladiator's both povide a 75% hit rate debuff and one or the other is always up throughout the battle.

At my best I've been able to take on 9 Mantle simultaneously with this and win, though 6 is what I usually shoot for.

I tried it out against scarabs in the Crystal Desert and won there too, but it was more difficult, and I only did it once, so I'm not sure how consistent it would be.

This build, of course, works well only against melee. Anything else is just bad news.

Ok update on my previously posted build. It actually worked just fine without having to respec my base character I use for PvE. Works well for up to 6 melee mobs and I've actually used it against casters as well, but archers are problematic. Casters just require some management to get them close enough together to perform the AEs. The builds Setup rehash:

- Zealot's Fire
- Healing Breeze
- Shield of Judgement
- Balthazar's Aura
- Symbol of Wrath
- Mending
- Balthazar's Spirit
- Essence Bond

41 base energy with my smiting staff. First buff is mending. Regen to 41. 2nd buff is Balthazar's Spirit. Regen to 41. Finally apply Essence Bond. Stuck at 31. Find the targets you're trying to kill. Once you have them located, apply Zealot's Fire. Wrangle them up. Apply Healing Breeze. When energy at 15 (which is immediately with 6 melee mobs) apply Shield of Judgement. When energy at 25 (which is very quickly with 6 melee mobs) apply Balthazar's Aura. Apply Symbol of Wrath. Apply Healing Breeze. Watch mobs die.

After the fight, I turn off all buffs, regen to 41, then rinse and repeat.

Specs: 10+1 Marksmanship, 8 Expertise, 9 Smiting Prayers, 8 Healing Prayers. No runes at all. Smiting staff is +10 energy requiring 9 smiting prayers, but has +5 armor versus physical attacks (not that it helps.)

So I didn't have to modify my regular build just to do some extra collecting of items. Makes it very convenient.

this thread inspired me to make my e/mo. 1st video style, 2nd video build, but taking on flesh golems that cast a nasty degen spell, and an elite necro spell that dispels all buffs + more. many people said flesh golems were a melee axe only thing, stick with something else. no thanks!

3 groups, middle of fighting another group gets to close and agros. end result? tons of loot in 35 seconds

will probably make a fraps video if i can find a host, takes less than 5 minutes to kill them all anyways

I have an E/Mo that I intend to do the same with.

hey Raralith, im a newb, but i notice that all your skills are Monk skills. so why use elementalist as primary?

I forget who to give credit to, but I use the build he made up, which consists of a W/Mo doing pretty much the same thing. The reason why I use warrior primary is the armor. These videos don't impress me when i'm use to taking on about 12-15 mantle at a time. And if you set it up the right way, you'll definately have the mana to cover it all.

As for why E/Mo, it's easier to level. Instead of getting a group and healing them, I just spec'ed fire until i got to flesh golems and AoEd everything; took me less than 1 day to get to 20. M/Wo, in my opinion, is by far a better farmer in some situations, and E/Mo just ties it in most scenarios. I wish I could farm hill giants but their knockdown makes it really hard unless you have balanced stance, a warrior skill.

ok, so now im stuck, i have a monk level...8-9 still in newb..because i cant decide on which to go with second prof, I wan't to be a good farmer, farm tones and thats where monk comes in, but in PvP i will be a healer. So, i almost done need a second profession, monk does everythin on its own....but i should anyway, dosnt effect anything, so should i go mez for the energy, war for the 2-3 skills good for farming...or ele for....?the signits?

any1 know if a W/Mo would be a good build for farming, because i just started a warrior and i havent chose a secondary yet, i got a lvl 17 E/r but it really sucks later in game because i cant stay alive long to get my hits in and such, so any1 know if i put a monk as my secondary can i still farm.

I farm with my w/mo. Only downside is that I run giants and mantle with separate builds. Against the 9 mantle at the beginning of Riverside, I just go full smite. However, against giants, I switch to to sword and mainly just use heals as I whack away.

I use those skills (sword at 14, str at 10 and healing at 10) and I can take up to 5 white mantle at a time. One run (25-30 mins) normally yields about 2k when you sell all the items to the merchant).

Thought I may as well chime in.
Main is a 20 Monk. Don't use a secondary atm. Holy damage vs Undead equals double the damage or such, so I tend to do a few farming runs from Bergen Springs through to Black Curtain. Great way to get nice weapons and runes from younger guildies/alts and to make a solid amount of cash for buying things.
Plus I find it a fun challenge tbh.

1. Healing Touch
2. Orison of Healing
3. Shield of Judgement (knocks down and does 88 dam)
4. Balthazar's Aura (44 or so damage, plus can move around and this effect still hits)
5. Symbol of Wrath (60odd damage I think. Need to stay still)
6. Zealot's Fire (does 40 damage to everything around me each time i cast)
7. Mending (+4 regen constant with my 14 or so Healing Prayers)
8. Balthazar's Spirit (regain energy everytime something hits me, which is constant. So constant max energy)

[Edit:
Oh, am on alt at moment so can't check exact numbers.
Is like
14 Healing Prayers
12 Smite Prayers
5 or 6 left in Divine
something like that, can't remember exactly]

I hit 8, 7, 6. Wait for the group to run into a huddle, run it just into aggro range and hit 3. Get in close and hit 4, then 1, 2. 5 if needs be.
Moreso though, I run through the sorcerer/warlock/ranger groups outside Bergen, as i start to get some heavy aggro (12+ or so) I hit Shield of Judgement, then 4, 1, 2 when they all gather etc. Easy way to mass kill.

As this is a thread on farming, and not whether you think it's good/bad etc, anyone think of any high level Undead zones? I am onto Perdition now, and been trying to think back on some mass undead areas. Can't seem to find Phantoms again. So have been mass killing Fleshies, substituting Orison for Smite Hex. Any ideas appreciated.

Keep up the slaughter!

PvE mob tankish-slayer/farmer [2nd choice is for farming purposes]

Cyclone Axe
Dismember
Axe Rake
Watch Yourself / Bonetti's Defense
Victory is Mine! {E}
Enfeebling Blood
Mark of Pain
Plague Touch
*very good for killing mobs and if u need to farm, bonetti's + enfeebling + Victory is Mine! feeds ur capabilities well *

Posted this in another thread and I use it on enemies who do and don't have interrupts.

The technique is simple. Get surrounded by enough of them and let loose with a few hits and cyclone axe. You can try to cast enfeebling blood before hand but unless they're all on top of you, u won't get them all. [also when u cast it on all of them, u can use ViM! to get all ur hp and energy back]. While you're fighting, you simply do Cyclone Axe into Dismember, Axe Rake, Bonetti's Defense. At a whopping 9 seconds, you can simply just wait out the duration for both the stance, Enfeebling recharge and ViM recharge. [both fitting nicely at 15s each]. Mark of Pain should be done just as Bonetti's is about to end. As well as another Enfeebling Blood. ViM! again. Repeat as necessary. Very stable for use against large mobs of Desert enemies

My E/Mo switches between fire and smiting depending on the mood I'm in, but he can farm with either one with equal success. So in response to Kitn about the E/Me, I can take 6 of the white mantle on at once with just fire spells.

12+2 Fire Magic
10 Energy Storage

(I haven't done the 2 15 point attribute quests yet)

Flare
Firestorm
Meteor Shower
Fireball
Flame Burst
Inferno
Aura Of Restoration
8th slot... doesn't really matter

Just use Aura Of Restoration, select one of them, aggro them, start casting Meteor Shower before they get to you, then Firestorm immediately after, then Fireball, then Flame Burst, and if they're still alive Inferno. The Aura Of Restoration will keep you alive as long as you start casting Meteor Shower before they're on top of you. (A Minor/Major/Superior Vigor may help, too..)

The bad thing is they all have to get knocked down by the Meteor Shower or it can mean you're screwed. (you can try packing Earthquake in the 8th slot, but Meteor Shower and Earthquake cause exhaustion, so..)

To reply to KrobJ's post: I have a warrior/monk with:

- Balthazar's Spirit
- Zealot Fire
- Symbol of Wrath
- Balthazar's Aura
- Mark of Protect {E}
- Reversal of Fortune
- Orison of Healing
- Healing Breeze / Retribution

You say you don't want healing skills, so Mark of Protection is the obvious Elite skill to use with 12 mantles? I manage to kill these easily as long as I don't lag and I cast Mark of Protection as late as possible

well i got W/Mo i got:

Im:
8 Healing Prayers
9 Smiting Prayers
6 Protection Prayers
11+1 Tactics

Gladiators Defence (Elite)
Bonetti's Defence
Orison Heal
Zealots Fire
Sheilding Hands
Symbol of Wrath
Healing Breeze
Mending(+3)

Mainly i can hold and kill solo 8-10 white mantle with easy. Using Symbol/Gladiators Defence first run when you got agro. When it runs out Bonetti's Defence is usually up so pop that insta power back. I let that go for a few seconds. Then casting Zealots Fire, i cast Healing breeze and then cast Orison of Healing when ever its up and does 13-15 dmg to all the mobs, then use Bonetti's till Symbol/Gladiators is up then repeat
