Well, I see what you mean in some of the points. I, too, like to explore, and many others do too. And I do explore alone, but I also bring friends and willing people with me if they are new to the region as well. But I tend to go back and explore areas after I have done quests in the region. You know, to get rid of all the fog of war I do this in all games... singleplayer or multiplayer, RPG or RTS. I can't stand black areas on explored parts of the map...

Anyway... I was mostly talking about quests and missions. For me it brings a new dimension to the questing to have people with you while you quest. Especially if they are interested in talking a little and using tactics etc. But I can see that partying with people that rush ahead, never say a thing and ignore other partymembers more or less is worse than going with NPCs. But compared to going with people that try, and want, to help each other... that's what I'm talking about.

Not to mention some of the quests are quite non-climatic. Villany for instance... you spend time on the quest, finally get there & kill all the baddies & what? Nothing.. a view off a mountain. BFD. The reward is weak too.. 500 xp & some crappy items. Oh boy!

What a friking whiner. I can't believe you bought an MMORPG and expect to finish it in a couple of hours. You can easily choose one of the premade PvP templates and fight casual matches when you choose and for as long or as short a time as you want. Broad statements like that are the bane of forums. Choose your comments a little more carefully in the future as I for one applaud the designers for finding a way to allow us Non-Pvp'ers to enjoy a game free of campers and griefers.

The worst is that I thought you were supposed to be able to collect all the secondary classes with a character...

But I am still on my first secondary class, and I don't have all the skills yet... Trainers already charge 570 gold per skill, which goes up 10 gold each time you buy a new skill. That means skills will eventually be costing 5000 gold each. I have only 6 skill points, despite multiple underworld and fissure runs, completing every mission and quest in the game, and visiting every area. Know how long it would take to farm 300 skill points?

Getting all the skills for each class would take approximately 2908572578929 eons.

I havent read too much after Siren tried to bash Romac...but man I love when people write a 3 page essay trying to bash someone, and all they accomplish is looking like a dumbass asshole.

Heres a tip from an expert forum goon asshole, reread posts a few times and google search words you dont understand like "if". Hope this helps in your next post Siren

If they'd make it any easier the game would bore you easily, this way.
It certainly doesn't in my opinion.

As mentioned before, I don't get how people do not understand to best fully appreciate this game is to belong to a guild. The guild can be a small group of friends or a large gaming community, but the point is to have missions/quests and PvP for groups of people who work together.

I joined a random party once because none of my guildmates were on and I wanted to pull my hair out. The same can be said for random PvP arenas. If that was the only PvP available I would of thrown the game out.

But the team concept is what I like the most.

Just as a side note, Elona does not take that long. Myself, 3 other members of my guild, a pickup and henchhealer completed it in about 30 minutes. (30 minutes from start, not from giving first crystal). You don't have to kill every mob, just the ones in your way. Like other posters have said, a little planning goes a LONG way.

It is repetitive. Too many tunnels heck it's nothing but winding pathways that funnel you into the next battle. No stealth, no imagination.

Have to say the melee's that you get into are some of the best I've ever seen what is unfortunate is this could be simply an outstanding game perhaps the best RPG ever but the makes fell too much in love with that part of their game design and I guess figure that everyone wants action action action.

But I like towns, the best part of this game was the first part plently of action but also plenty of neat places to go and you weren't so confinded.

I simply hate being a rat run through a maze I can't stand designers who think this is cool to me they are linear idiots. What is cool is having the ability to pass up a battle and find another way.

But that option isn't in this game. I thought I'd be stuck to this game forever as it is I can see that it will only be a filler until the next Elder Scrolls comes out. Now that game could use a lot of this games fight technology this game could use a lot of that games freedom to roam a large world.

This thing probably all comes down to data management maybe their design and game engine put a limit on their grand plan but I don't think so. I think some little narrow minds put the grand screws to this game.

Open it up if not you'll never see me tell anyone about this game and I'll never spend another cent on it.

Well I love this game. Anyone who did any research before purchasing GW would know that in some respects it would be similar to diablo. Meaning somewhat linear w/fast paced action. I got exactly what I expected, but more. This game is huge. There are so many places to explore and get lost that it can have that rpg feel to it. Now if your strapped for time and just stick to the missions, you'll lose that rpg feel a little. Now we all know that most mmo's are big time sinks. This one is very light in comparison. I love a good challenge and use the weekends for the harder missions. Also team play makes all the difference on the harder missions. Dont blame the devs because you purchased a game without educating yourself on what it was all about. If I buy a bad game it is only my fault for being in a rush or falling into the hype trap. Information is the key to any successfull venture.

The best part of this game was the first part. You leave the castle and what have you got? A huge field to roam.

That is the problem as they went further into the design they made it more and more confined and linear. I find myself starting the game over and over again because pre-searing is the fun part.

They chopped the rest of it to heck. Yes I love the action but much of this is very disappointing. I hope they give the designers a good kick in the rump take a look at pre-searing that was a wonderful layout.

were you aware that the first part you like was a last minute addition and not the start of the project?

Once you've unlocked specific areas you can roam all you like doing side quests. It's a mighty big explorable map wiht lots of hidden nooks and crannies and things to see, especially once you get past the ascalon areas.
