Ok... This is kinda getting to me. I just payed like 1.5 million gold for FoW armor and I will be pretty dissappointed if they come out with better newer more expensive armor than FoW. Anyone hear any word on this?

im quite possitive they will implement an area that is equivalent to FoW in factions...if they dont, how will anyone with -just- factions get access to the rarer armor sets? besides when they do...its not going to be a "new FoW" is going to be a "X" where X is a completely new, totally unique area/armor smith

There cannot be "better" armor in the sense that it would have better stats. They may have a different apperance, but performance wise, they will be the same.
If they introduced armor that was better stat-wise, that would give an unfair advantage to people that own Factions over those that do not.

They have said there will be new armor for all classes for some time now I doubt it will all be generic.

if you payed 1.5 mil for armor that you will potentially be disappointed in, then you made a bad decision and bought the armor for the wrong reasons. deal with it.

It's pretty well known that each class will get 6 new sets of armor. It would be a pretty good bet that at least one of those will be a very high end as people with only factions wont be able to get to FoW.

I think there will be "high" end hard to get gold sink armor like FOW but it won't be the C1 Fow armor.

Well seen as factions is asian based, id say the new goldsink armour will be asian related like all the other armour, so decide whether you want your mesmer to look like someone of a Super Noodle advert.. or whether you want the stylish chapter 1 armo(u)r... (This is just an example)

I am assuming that there will be a Canthan equivalent of the FoW armour. I'm just hoping that it's worth it look-wise because in my opinion the majority of the FoW armour looks terrible (come to think of it you could apply that to most of the armour in the game)...

As with all armor, you don't actually have to get the whole set. Just get the parts you like. For example, I like the warrior FoW gauntlets and pants, so I got those, but I don't like the rest (torso piece makes you look fatter than stefan or little thom), so I'll wait for factions armor or something.

And just because the armor is new, doesn't mean is better, since Arena.Net shouldn't change AL, since it would upset the balance, the new rare armor won't be better, it'll just be different looking.

I could see the Adept Set for ele that was removed at game launch come back (+5 vs all elements) instead of +10 Specific element, or +10 vs Light Damage, etc. or even an +5 vs Physcial.
They have equated this game to Magic the Gathering, same with the new skills, putting more armor options of different types is something I would bet on. Now a Fire +20 protection armor set is something I don't think we will see. This is just an example.
I take "new armor" line to be different but you could be right that the skins have changed.

For my monk I have tattos, wanders, and censor's all infused and minor runed.
My Ele does have some 15k sets and want to complete pyro but thats down the road after I buy the non-cap war skills I still need.
I suspect to see new "base" armor and have 15k versions of the "new" armor types.

I would be dissapointed in Anet if there was a new " FoW armour" they really shouldn't keep running the same gimmicks into the ground like that. They should have enough creativity to come up with something different. They could however add FoW armour for the new classses to keep it fair. No one is going to chase armour chapter after chapter. It was a one trick pony never to be repeated, fun while it lasted ,but that grind needs to be left in chapter one.

The game requires a gold sink, something that costs a lot of money to take gold out of the economy. This is required to counter balance all the gold that is entered into the economy due to farming. If there isn't a "fow" armor in chapter, there will be something that costs a lot of money that people "want" but dont "need."

IMO, the only great-looking FOW armors are the Monk and Mesmer armors. The necro is good.

But based on the images/trailer I have seen reguarding to the two possibile rangr armours from factions, I think the current FoW is better looking.
Of course, what looks better is a subjective view.

^maybe but the mats required for it wouldn't be available in infinite supply per say due to only a select number of individuals who are able to afford it. Thus only few people will be running around w/ it INITIALLY then as price subsides then other people will have a more realistic range of acquiring it. However, the first months of the game or when the armor is exposed, demand will be so high than prices(like when FOW armor was getting mainstream) for the mats will be sky high. It'll be like when trader was selling ecto for almost 20k.
My monk has FOW ascetics armor so I don't think i'll even worry about the new monk armors in the next chapter(cept if theres a really good looking armor then I'll craft that one to replace my tatts for 55monk farming)

I think hoping that no new armor will precide is rediculous...If there was this whole new land, with no new armors....that would be a major let down considering many of the players goals is to get 15k, to FoW armor, even if it has the same stats as Droks. I hope there is new places like UW and Fow for the otehr gods, that could provide a source of armor. That would be nice.
