[Renamed]Should Fame be Wiped?

Probably going against the grain here, but I personally think that fame should be wiped with the new chapter (and with all new chapters).
How is a new player to the game supposed to stand ANY chance of getting into a group when everyone else is running around with Rank 6+ (likely farmed from IWAY)? Maybe some consider this an important noob filter, but I think it just breeds elitism.
With a fame wipe, everyone would start off at the same level, even if prophecy players would gain fame faster due to previous experience. In order to balance for the 6 month new chapter release, they could just tweak the numbers.
All a moot point due to what the dev's had said, just wanted to supply some brain food

Even if fame was wiped, it just means IWAY will probably be used alot more for more fame farming to rebuild the ranks again so people can once again join rank teams. Not to dis the IWAY skill, I just think they need to rework the time on it, instead of 10 secs per allied body to maybe someting from #...#secs. Oh well, at least many will be able to keep their "1337" rank emote to show off their egos of how much fame farming they did with IWAY build.

well i think they will need to do something in the future about fame. Just think about it, 3 chapters from now there will be all these rank 12 teams and so on and so forth, while those ppl who just bought chapter 3, they wont have any fame, and will have a long way to catch up. Of course they will probably add more stuff sorta like tombs, but either having some other kind of ranknig system, or just not using anything like that at all.

i think that there should be a loss of fame when you lose in the tournament. the higher up you are the more loss. like no loss for the first couple of matches. but after the first 2 there should be a small fame loss when you lose. it would keep fame from getting too inflated. anet should have thought of this in the beginning. everyone knows that for a healthy viable system there needs to be loss and gain in the system in order to keep new people able to get in.

The Fame system was originally intended more as a show-off tool, something to brag about to your friends about how much and how successful you've been in PvP. Thus, in this perspective, there is no system to "get in" to. You're not being "left behind" because it's just for fun. It's not hard to imagine how this would turn into a "noob filter", but it's always easier given hindsight.
It's not too great of a feature at the moment, many people can agree to that, even ANet employees. I wouldn't be surprised if it's reworked a little, but unless it's almost completely redone in a different way it would be pointless to reset it.
