I'm not in Belgium or on telnet either im down under in australia and i'm having the same problem with error 058 ,so i do think it's guild wars cos it happened right after one of their updates ,maybe they should stop updating and fix all their damn errors first
Renegade ++RIP++
sarcastic it might just be the same problem as on our side, namely the dns server from your ISP hasn't been updated since last time.
just run the little rpogram and make a ticket with support of gw and send it towards your isp.
so if it is either of them they can fix it.
EDIT: fixed at time of edit

really? is it fixed? can we connect now? or were you referring to something else?
Renegade ++RIP++
I was referring to the problem with telenet, they fixed it so yes you can connect. Well at least i could.
Acuila
yup i can connect

Managed to fix part of the problem my end by taking FRactions(the beta GW) back to the shop and getting a $100 refund. Still cant login to GW tho.May have to pay the $25 to the local court courts and file a claim against the distributor for selling a product not fit for the purpose intended( can in this country its a great law) to get my hundy back on GW. Maybe if more of you took this option A Net would have to fix the prob. Gl all.

I'm guessing that you excluded your whole Guild Wars folder under AMON setup but not IMON |

I've checked my router, checked my firewall and any other settings I can think of. Tried everything but take my laptop to pieces.

Maybe someone tripped over a cord.

I too am in the Northeastern US, and i've never experienced this problem yet untill today. I was grouped up and in the middle of a quest in Kaineng Center when I was "booted" outta GW. I havent been able to log in ever since. It keeps coming up with error code 058, like everyone else here LOL, no way is it our ISP when this happens....it has to be the GW server/servers we were running on, I had no problems up to this point, and it's possible that the latest patch is cause of my problem LOL
Rofl_Pwnt
You guys are STILL not getting it to run? This happened to me yesterday and im fine!

I just purchased Factions and attempted to install it on a machine that has had no problems with Guild Wars. The installation appeared to complete successfully and the sign-in screen came up.
When I attempted to add the Factions access key to my account, the "Connecting..." window popped up and stayed that way for about 5 minutes until it was replaced by the "Code=058" window.
I shut GW down, restarted, and tried to log in as I always do and was faced with the same "Code=058" window.
I then read every message on this thread in this forum.
My solution:
1. Completely uninstalled GW.
2. Re-Installed the original GW, NOT Factions.
3. Tested log in. Was able to log in without trouble.
4. BEFORE installing Factions, added the Factions access key number to my account.
5. Installed Factions.
6. Tested log in. Was able to log in without trouble. NO CODE=058.
I have had no trouble since...knock on wood. I don't know how useful this will be to others, but it worked for me.

I was having this problem last night and after about 3 hours of being unable to log in I was finally allowed access to my account. Now The problem seems to have started again today and I am once again, unable to log in. Anet really needs to fix these server problems fast because I know a lot of people that are getting extremely frustrated with this problem happening over and over again.

Hi everyone!
I've just bought and installed Guild Wars Factions and have code=058 problem. I can't even create an account. I'm sure firewall doesn't block the program, all ports are as they suppose to be. I tried to reinstall and "-image" command but it's still the same... Is there something wrong with the server ? (I've found that many people have the same problem... How to solve it?)

Yes this just happened to me and I have never had problems with GW. I'm a unix architect and I know my network runs clean, my friends work at my ISP and looks like the problem is on Anet's side..
DJCoastal
Ugh i logged in... and i got an error... and now its not letting me go back in...

same problem here, was fine a few hours ago until I decided to sleep and now its all about the code=058
eatspaper
just got the 058 error for a few hours.
control panel - add/remove - guild wars - change/remove - reinstall to current location.
worked like a charm for me, however it didn't work at all on my brothers computer. noticed as well that the announcements were not showing on his when he logs on, but they showed on mine ok after i did the false reinstall.
