Ranting won't make it go any faster. If they just go and release it you're still going to have to download an assload of data, you'll just be having fun sitting and watching it download at the download/splash screen so that you can actually play the game when Factions people are around. Even then, you can't just blame your errors on other people. Granted, it may not be your fault that the connection has gone screwy, but there's no reason to call ANET a bunch of losers and get pissed at everyone else, unless you just want to make things more difficult.
By the way, the Factions preview event has been over since Sunday.
To take the sting out of this reply I will say that I honestly feel sympathy for you and the frustration that you and the many other people who are unable to play Guild Wars at this time. I know that if I was in your position I would also be quite angry, especially considering the fact that I
really like this game. It pains me to say it, and I'll do it candidly, but at this point it really seems that the best action you could take is just to be patient, cross your fingers, and hope that this all gets cleared up when Factions is finally released and it's had enough time for the majority of the serious bugs to get worked out. I know that it's probably not what you want to hear, but you might save yourself time that you would otherwise spend stressing out if you just waited until the Factions release date before trying to connect to Guild Wars again.
