Same as last time, people went nuts buying, although that time the traders ran out of inventory a lot faster, and this time prices never increased.
This time It went on forever. Couldn't believe it as I clicked on ruby after ruby.
Thing is I am actually going to use them (as long as they are required) since I don't like any of the FOW armor I never got it. SO I am hoping to get some nice armors in the new edition.
I also bought 8 Superior Vig runes 2 for each class I have, simply because I am going to use them up. I bypassed the Absorb since I do not have a warrior so I have no use for it.
Since I already had 1million+ in plat all I did was spend basically what I had on toons, and didn't even touch the money in my storage.
So I am not sure if the "noobs" wil be the new bnouveau riche of the game. The whole economy of the game is screwed. Basically there are plenty of farming spots where a guy can, after 7-8 hours of game play have a half million EASILLY in plats. That is simpy by picking up everything that is dropped and either salvaging it or selling it outright to merchant. There are also some maps with material trader who will also buy stuff from you, so you can fill up and mule yourself to them over and over again if you run out of space.
The thing is I logged off and now can't get back on. But I couldn't go anywhere anyway so no biggy I guess.

They did an actual trader reset back in June/July and people grabbed up ectos and runes then. Question is... is this another purposeful trader reset? Last time it was at some bizarre hour of the morning (in the U.S.) if I remember correctly (I was not on to take advantage of the reset).
I think, at this point, it's pretty obvious it was some sort of mistake (being that they have the game on lockdown or what-not now)...
Will be interesting to see how they fix it.

Also with the new update coming out who wants the old armor anyways? Hopefuly the new stuff has a nice look, and isn't just the same old trash, then there will be nothing to spend money on. It will be like Diablo all over again where gold itself has no value and people will be trading in runes or upgrades.

I doubt this was on purpose other wise the game would not have lockdown. As to who ever corrected me, you are right the money that was spent will come back.

theres talk about GW getting hacked or the server had a bad crash. I had spent nearly 200k on runes and shards, they both were at 250gp. rubies and saphs werer at 250 to 500gp got some of them also. Hopoe we keep it all. But now theres talk about a rollback on the server. If so we dont get to keep anything

You offcourse realize this would mean a multiTerabyte storage to get states of say 1 day of all GWplayers maybe.....

Server rollbacks are not unheard of....But usually not HUGE games like GW.
I would feel REALLY bad for people who are in the middle of a hard mission...and next day find themselves to not have finished the mission.

Locked out again... it's like a parade of error codes. I started with 13, got booted out of the game with a code 40, now can't get back in with a code 72. I feel like a police dispatcher. Also, apparently something was going on with the armor guys too, apparently the sentinel's armor showed up for trade, along with some other weird stuff.

While I've been farming hard for the past 2 months some people here just logged in and in 45 minutes picked up 3 times worth what I've farmed under those 2 months. I wasted my time.
It's an exploit, it isn't fair, and if they don't reroll I'm gonna boycott.

it is not hard to mirror the server at all times and take incremental updates spaced out over a 30 minute window...maybe an hour...they can simply roll back the servers a few and boom...back to normal...
