Hmm... but the FoW chests (Rastigan for example) only drop 1 item.

I know some quest-reward chests that drop more. Or do the FoW chests have a bigger chance at getting a Crystalline?

You can choose to believe this or not, but I have also seen a Crystaline Sword drop from one of the keyless chests that Kilroy drops on his quest at Sorrows Furnace.

I have only ever seen this once though, and unfortunately it did not drop for me :-(

I've done about 10 Kilroy runs now, no Crystalline.

It does drop from that chest I think.

These chests can drop Crystalline Swords, Dwarven Axes, Serpent Axes and many more. They're always purple though (so no gold, blue and purple), which sucks. And still the chance of one of those rare ones is fairly small, but it's definitly possible.

He shouldn't because that sword doesn't have the best stats for an IW Mesmer

I'd love to see a crystalline sword that had the same crystalline graphics but in the actual shape of a sword - I'd love to see the same graphics applied to a crystalline axe as well. :P

I got my crystalline in Ice Floe outside of Marhan Grotto, 9 months ago, doing chest runs, and it is GOLD. However didnt have any +% dmg

, and req 13. I have just found out that higher req does more damage, but I think it said something bad about req 13, so I kinda got a punked crystalline max damage lol. Its customized so dont ask me if you can buy it, like you would anyways hehe.

Its the reward for a quest, The one about the dead Moa bird in the catacombs.

Anyway, people can say a friend of a firend of a brother of a cousin of someone they knew a long time ago got one from a monster or something, but with no proof....It stands that they are only a keyless chest drop.

ya that sucks, keyless chests owned. And those keyless chests outside of marhan grotto was really worth it, because out of 1000 runs to em, I got a crystalline GOLD out of em.

Wiki gets tells where they MOSTLY drop.

ways you can get 1 now is win HoH and hope you lucky, 12.5% you recieve if it drops, same with that place in Icy mountains I forget name, by getting it in chest. However I think GW makes a lot of bugs on purpose for those who buy the game early to get a good chance to get to abuse a lot of the bugs they set.

of course wiki isn't always right, what do you expect from a site where anyone can edit. do a good job at filtering out 99.9% of incorrect stuff however..

you are blatently wrong, wiki says they can't be got anywhere else. you say it is wrong because you got one months ago?? wiki is saying you CAN'T not you could in some old age :/

Uhm. No. A higher req doesn't do more damage. If your mastery is at 13 and your sword is req. 8 you will do the same dmg as a req. 13 sword with 13 mastery.

Not really true, I tested it with Crystalline req 13 and this Purple Longsword req 8, both same damage, neither have damage modifer or penetration %, and same hilt, and when I was doing dmg agaisnt a mob with my crystalline i was doing 16 - 22 dmg (non criticals) and when I tested the long sword it was doing 15 - 19, I killed the same mob type 7 times with each sword.

Now either high req does more dmg or different skin types mean some do more dmg then others. I was using the same swordmanship 13 durning the test for both weapons.

ANYWAY...Quansong suggested UW and FoW Chest farming...which isnt really accurate, since the keys that need keys don't drop them anyway, the chests that you get to open as a reward for quests can drop them.

You can't "farm" them, as you only get them from the chest in HoH at the end and the chests in FoW after completing one of the quests(chest has same look). Correct me if I'm wrong, those r the only two ways.

You use to be able to get them in the desert along with some other places but that was taken out long ago. I have only had a purple drop and a white one drop when that was ingame. So atm the rarest crystalline is a white req 7 max damage one sort of like the uncondtional weapons
