I would say when i was lagging horribly bad when i first got to drokners forge, and i didn't hear the little sound after you buy armor, so i keep clicking on the boots i want - and i have plenty of crafting materials in my inventory...but i keep clicking...and clicking...then i decide to restart my computer i get back on there and my necros inventory consists of 11 pairs of tormentors boots, with no money left over for the other 3 peices of armor.

I had a couple of incidents where I wasted money.
- When first started my warrior back in June I so wanted a Fellblade but they were really expensive.
I was able to buy a purple one 11>50 for 40k and then paid 50k for for a 29 health pommel.
Later that day I found a 12>50 Fellblade for 90k and it was gold. I had to have the gold one. I tried to salvage the purple one and all I got is iron
Total plats lost = 90k (pommel+purple fellblade).
- Buying 15k Enchanter gloves just a few minutes after I woke up one day. Only to realize that they are the same anyway if i bought 1.5
Glad I did not do the same mistake with mesmer fow and wasted 15 ectos and 15 shards
Total plats lost = 13.5k
- I so have a bad luck with drops, and after numerous trips to NUW I decided to buy Victo's Axe and Blade.
Total plats lost = 170k since they can now be had for less than 50k for both.
- I created a Ranger on the second account and thought to myself that getting desert bows would be enought and I would not care about the skin.
I bought tons of mods and customized all the bows I got (long, short, composite.. etc etc)
I then loved the Ranger profession and started getting greens and other skins. The kick is that you cannot slavage collector items. It would not have been a total loss if I least got one mod out of each item.
I'm sure there is more but cannot think of any now.

Over the past 9 months i have deleted 5 lv20 char's all with 15k armour (all dyed black), 2 Rangers, 1 Necro, 1 Mesmer and 1 Warroir. In that order i deleted my necro for another ranger which i still have, and i deleted my mesmer for a PvP char, i deleted my warroir for another warroir as he was ugly.

-Made a character with fulll 75k armor, dyed, with weapons and superior vigor in a week and then deleted it because i needed PvP slot
-Bough Victos Bulwark the day it came out for 100k+20 ectos(i know i got ripped off)
-Applied my SUperior Vigor rune over my Superior Absorbtion Rune on my warrior.
-Traded my HoD for one of these SoA axes (The day before nerf)
-Made a character with fulll 75k armor, dyed, with weapons and superior vigor in a week and then deleted it because i needed PvP slot

Just wondering, whats SoA axe? what was it before the nerf and what is it now?
Anyway, mine is buying dragon armor and Fow, although I don't regret the fow for my monk due to ectos only(10k ecto) dyed all black(dye was 8k each then) and even though I love the look of the dragon, I'm a common sense type guy and My mind is screaming "moron, should've gotten glad + knight/ascalon boots. Oh well, so much for that. Never really lost alot of money I didn't make back :\
Wish they up the 1000plat cap on storage though, it could easily go 10,000 plat IMHO if anet just wanted to.

Its a axe that you would of get off the quest Scavangers of Old Ascalon (or Scavengers of Ascalon) and that axe allowed you to add 2x enchantment mods(like 20% longer 2x times) or like hp upgrade component. It was overpowerd so they nerfed it. BTW back then a 18% longer enchant or 20% would go over 100k.

My biggest waste would also be my 15k Dragon set. No matter what I do, I just can't make it look cool. I don't have the heart to salvage it though being that it was my very first set of 15k.

I don't get it, there are items like HOD swords and 15% FFS that have been removed ingame that doesn't seem to have been touched while that axe was removed? oh well, guess its one more nerfed item I never got the insight to take -_- I'll keep a lookout for potential items chp 2 ^^
Oh and now I remember! I made an ele that I got ran to droknar then got her a pyro set, used her as storage then just deleted her. Now I use a pvp char as storage ^^ maybe that'll get deleted too, but it only has collector items.

1000k on a 15>50 req 10 chaos axe. It was a great deal at the time, was reconsidering reselling for 2X, mabye 3X the price, then SF happened.
IMO the axe was fixed was because it was incredibly overpowered. 5% extra chance of skill recharge isnt going to single handedly win a match, and neither is 2 energy. It helps but wont pwn all. The 40% enchant axe was different, with the correct use it could dominate matches.

The SoA axe was removed because it was never intended to have 2 grips added to it, basically it was a giltch which was being exploited, unlike the HoD sword and 15% recharge axe which Anet intentionally put in and then removed later.

back when i was new, i had ascended my warrior and had some money after some farming(a bit over 100k maybe less) and decided to go for FoW armor. that was when ecto and shards went for 3k each(ahhhhh). i bought a few off people at toa, than went to the rare trader(this was before everything was already listed; you had to have an item to see it listed) and saw that he bought them for 4.5k! i thought wow ill buy all the ecto i can and sell it to the merchant for a profit!! so yeah i sold a few ecto before realizing i was a complete idiot.

I've never failed to salvage any runes, and I go rune farming a lot.

55k for a perfect Composite Bow
50k for a decent purple sephis axe
40k for the newly acquired fellblade
