the good news is.....

you will be getting more slots with chapter 2.

the bad news is......

with the new professions and possibly a new race you will still be short of the slots you think you need/deserve/want

For the next update I think it should be six. Anet can put eight or ten in the expansion pack. Please Anet make these dreams come true!!! d(^_^)b

(I think six is fair...mostly I want more slots to create specifically pre-Searing chars to help out newbies in my guild, and I like my two PvM and two PvP chars too much to kill them off.)

One slot per class should always be the min
One slot for PvP is quite enough

reason it should stay at 4.

ebay stores will take up even more room than they do now for half the price.

more storage for anet which might turn into "pay me." more storage more servers more MONEY.

no matter what the customer's needs or wants the bottom line for the buisness will always be money.

would like to have a decent FREE game to continue playing on so no more character slots are needed. i'm happy at 4.

I'm not.

I love all my characters, and having spent so much time on them I'm extremely loathe to even contemplate throwing that time out the window. Yes, it takes up more space on the servers, and it's not like GW characters really take up much room. Well, I can't say that for sure. In fact, its just a random assertion trying to prove my point. At least I'm honest.

6'd be swell. 8+ might be excessive. The other option is to sell character slots for cheap, like $5, $10 each. Just enough to pay for itself.

In my case, I share GW with a little brother. Sharing 3 PvE slots and 1 PvP slot with a family member is horrible...with the status quo you can basically only create 3 PvE chars and then delete your old characters which you poured hours and hours into.

The extra currency / items? It shouldn't really be much of a problem since each character will only add 100K each, while storage is 1000K. Also, it would be difficult to amass a large number of items actually worth keeping. (for all 5,6,7,8 etc slots)

And by the way, supply and demand would dictate that if ebay'ers got more cash / items, the value in actual money would simply go down. Not that much of a gain...

I cynically predict they will add 2-4 slots with the expansion to boost sales.

The more, the merrier! I'd love to see 8 character slots, but such a move will cut into GW sales, since many players do buy more than one CD-key just for item storage purposes.

For me 4 is fine.
3 RPG to get skills(2 professions each since you can have 2 professions.)
1 for pvp.

RPG 1:A war
RPG 2: A nuker
RPG 3:Monk
Plenty of room.

I personally don't see a problem with having more slots (other than the ANet storing char data and the economy repercussion stuff). Currently I have a R/Mo, a W/N, and an E/Me, with one slot open for PvP Considering I almost never do PvP and just use it for occasionally experimenting with skills/character appearances, it's kinda of a waste. I realize that 3 slots lets you play all six professions, but playing a R/Mo is a whole different apple than playing a monk primary.

On that note, I suspect that the expansion will add two professions and up the slots to 6- lets you have two characters with one expansion class each (so we don't have a million NewClassA/NewClassB characters running around because everyone wants to try both new classes but only has one free character slot), and still gives you a PvP slot. 8 would be grand in my opinion- I could experience one of each primary and screw PvP altogether, but I'm not holding my breath.

/signed, acknowledging that ANet has probably already thought this through and made their own decision based on the factors they believe are important and previous reactions from players towards character slots

why 8 char slots would be great.
1)A pvp slot is a waste of time because you are always remaking the thing and you can't just go the login and choose your pvp char for the day.
2) buying another account for 50$ may seem reasonable but then you have to unlock every single skills again. and who wants to do that?

Should be 6 characters instead of 4, so you can have 1 of every primary class.

Holy crap on a stick... it feels like mission group forming all over again.

Worst reasoning EVER to justify 4 character slots.

I think 8 is waaay too many. 6 is acceptable, but not exactly fair on people who cant play as much, unlocking every skill on the game would be a breeze. 5 is max IMO.

Not sure if anyone has suggested this already, but I think that you should be able to purchase more character slots. That way, you wouldn't have to pay for 4 when you only want 1 or two more.

Well, /signed, anyway.

There needs to be 6 atleast.. I mean. I use 3 slots for pve characters, I have only one for tests pvp characters, I really want another pve character but that means no testing anymore -.-
Atleast 6 slots please.
