Just a little thing you got wrong Traylorre:
You can have 8 Characters at Diablo II ... and unlimited accounts on one CD Key!

And you can use one CD Key on all 4 servers at the same time, but i think this is just cause of lazyness. ^^

I have for PvE a lvl 20 Wa/Me and Mo/E and just started a R/N to start unlocking all those skills. It is a pain having to make do with only one slot for all the weird PvP ideas I want to try out, ESPECIALLY with the way attribute refund points work currently.

Just noticed the post. Some more slots would be nice in my opinion. Although you can unlock all skills with 3 PvE slots and 1 PvP slot that's only assuming you play in the most efficient way possible which I know most people don't. It doesn't hurt anyone to have some more slots for characters. The only valid argument I can think of is the extra cost Anet may or may not incur. That being said the petition isn't "Do you think Anet can afford extra slots". I mean come on .... give Anet a little credit. Do you really think they're so stupid that they'd add the extra character slots and then go out of business because of it? It's always funnny to read the posts of people who think their brilliant insight is single handedly keeping Anet in business.

For no monthly fee, you already have 4 slots. All the Diablo leftovers want dozens, they can go back to D2. You don't even need 6 slots for all six professions, since you could theoretically unlock every skill in the game with just one character. And if they made it six, people would want seven so they could have a PvP slot too. There is no good reason for ANet to expand the number of characters per account no matter how much anyone whines about it, because all they'll be doing is losing money. I definitely agree that it would be a much better idea to add new slots in the expansions, simply to accomodate new proffessions.

Maybe when the expansion comes out they can up it using the money that it brings in. But for now it should be left at four, it might not be enough, but it is the most for now.
As a database person, I'm going to guess that the storage requirements per character are very small...really just a few numbers. I doubt seriously that it would ever be a major cost issue. Number of PLAYERS is a vastly different issue, of course - online players chew up actual bandwith and server cpu horsepower for every zone instance they require. But all the characters probably reside in a fairly small database....

I don't see why they should need "serious upgrades" - you can still play only ONE char at a time, which means no server upgrade needed. Might need some more storage, but gigabytes of disk space now cost next to nothing. Of course it IS an investment, but I don't think it'd be a serious one.

Me too feels a little tight with 4 chars. I've got 3 PvE chars to cover the 6 classes, and one PvP. Problem with it is, I need a *ready* pvp char for when guild calls (often, I need to be there on the double), so experimenting means building a character, trying it out, then deleting it and making the other one anew. I'd like one more. Don't think you NEED more than that.

More chars in expansion... that's good. I think we'll need it

EDIT: *I* don't think you need more than 5 I'm not telling anyone what they should think, sorry.

ArenaNet has stated that this decision was quite deliberate, so you can't get a character into an "enemy" guild and sabotage it, so to speak.

Still debatable, but you'll need a convincing argument.

I'm just skipping over most of the previous posts, 9 pages is too many to pilfer. I think that instead of just 6 character slots, something like 3 PvE and 3 PvP slots would be better. Or maybe 4 PvE and 2 PvP. Whatever. Basically the gist of my idea is to limit PvE accounts so that you don't have problems with eBay, etc., and at the same time allow room for PvP character experimentation. The thing about PvP characters is that you can delete them and re-use that slot in no time flat without actually losing much; that is, if your focus is on the PvP gameplay.

This wouldn't be much of an issue if people wouldn't get so attached to their characters, though. 8 slots is too many.

(Apologies for not signing, but I had something to say.)

I agree with 6.
You people who are begging for 8-?? are sad. If you really wanted that much seriosly make a thread about adding accounts together.

/signed Barney slayer, marmalade jenkings, mad matz, and silver arrow(i thinks that his name, its my dads player, but he agrees)
and on that note i currently use 2 of my char ( the pthers my friend's who lives at my house) but i still would LOVE 6, no more, char places

Totally agree. We only need 6. If we were to bump it up further then farming and such would escalate dramatically. 6 would be an awesome upgrade. But any improvement made would be greatly appreciated.

Same here, i think 4 isnt enough but we dont need something like 10-12 or more either ...

I think we should be allowed to play one of each class.. + one pvp slot

Buying a second game can be another possiblity but, don't wanna unlock everything again and the idea of a "transfer" of what u have unlocked could help a bit but might end as a new way of abuse

If this game needs something, it's more characters slots. I'm the type of guy that would like a character of every class. Deleting Level 20's that you work hard on isn't fun. I absolutely refuse to delete my characters and as a result, i bought another copy of Guild Wars. Eight slots sounds grand to me.

They should at least expand 1 character slot in the expansion. I am sure that with new features (possibly class) some people would want to create a new character and go through the entire thing.

Also, having an extra slot shouldn't be that big of a deal. I can't imagine a character requiring more than a few kilobytes of storage and it's not like more than one character per account can be active at the same time. Also, more characters = more gold sinks because you need more equipment, armor, etc.

well, i know for a fact i am uselless at PvP, so i would never realy need the dedicated PvP only char slot (i did 30mins PvP, hated it, so freed up the slot again, after looking at all the armours^ ^heheh)
however, i would still like them to be available to others.

i, like many of us here, would be willing to pay up to another £20 (the price of my usual expanisons re/NwN HotU+SoU) so long as it was a special card, with a scrape off foil panel in a little box, that i bought from a store (much like you can buy time for some of the other P2P games in this fasheon) and took home. logged in, hit 'edit account' and pushed the 'input expanded character slots card serial number' button, then filled in and vouila, 2 extra PvE slots and a dedicated PvP slot are mine to use

its not that i mainly want to have one of each character class in main class, its more that i have made 3 chars i will not deleat and i want to make a newbie helper to stand about in Pre and be helpfull with, and if i do that now, i will not have any spare slots for newer chars, regardless of the fact that they *might* add another in the next expansion, cause they will probably have new classess in that too, so im stuck...
