Idea: Stylist NPC (Possible Money sink)

I would just like to change my face and the hair style and color. Thats all I really need. I have saved enough to buy ele fow armor but am very hesitant to buy it cause I hate the way my ele looks. She was created almost 2 years ago and has 3mil experience so its a shame to recreate her but if this is never going to happen I would like ANet to tell us so I stop waiting and remake her so I can get the FoW. Plz give us an answer, yes or no. Your working on it or forget it, it will never happen.

I really think everyone should stop asking for face changing, colour or hight. Because really that just a bit overkill.
Hairstyles are one thing, but the rest just seems a bit too much
But then again if they allowed us to do everything, I wouldn't complain

But! Colour changing isn't high on my list. Hairstyles would be nice.

Although the world of guild wars seems fairly into magic it is not like a person can drink a magic potion and turn into a Candy Golem.... <_< >_> <_<...
I personally support hair changes the most as my ranger really needs one...
As for the OP support for rings and facial things, this bling I do not support really... I mean facial items would clash with Necromancer scars and Mesmer masks, not to mention someone wearing Knight's Gauntlet would not be able to see their "flashy rings"

Well bump this up, maybe Anet could do it

Anet never really like to do half a job. I would love to be able to try hairstyles from other professions, and I think that would be the optimum hair stylist. However to do that would require lots of testing to ensure the facial models match with all the hairsyles and the 3D remoddelling required is not insignificant.
Face/sex changing is overkill tbh not to mention the latter being a bid odd. Tho Selling a Baldurs style Girdle of Gender change to unsuspecting male wammo's does have a certain mischivous appeal. "WTS Belt, improves player looks 100% only 100g "
Hair dyes are doable, and as we've seen it's possible to change style for an aready made character but my gut feel is that AN want to give us the whole 9 yards than a rushed stop gap solution.

I'd just like to be able to change hair styles & colour. Especially after picking up a Vabbian head scar for my necro last night, only to find out that the hair covers up 90% of it.

Community Day at ArenaNet
26 January 2007
On Friday, January 26, 2007, representatives from six of our Elite Fansites will be visiting ArenaNet to take a studio tour, meet the development team, and spend some time socializing with the gang!
They will be returning to their homes—in France, Germany, Spain, and the United States—and then will be writing up what we're sure will be great reports about the event.
Sites to watch for future reports are:
Guild Wars Guru
Guild Wars Hispano
Guild Wars Info
Guild Wars MMORPGS
Guild Wars Vault
Wartower.de
And we'll have a report of our own soon, as well!
i hope anet read this thread...

But, mean while, I think we should all presume that ANET has indeed read this thread and will not comment because they don't know if A) they can, B) they can't, C) they know, they won't say. D) lord knows.
It'll happen when it happens, and I'm sure it'll happen.

if its a simple face hair color, style change.. then I am 200% for it.
body size, face change...nice but I can see where it might be getting a bit much
accessories? ...um..no..not needed IMO though.
extra ideas:
MAKE HAIR DYEABLE! Mix up your own colors to help set apart your toon for others.
Also, for those who have the different chapters, I would like to be able to select ANY hairstyle (faces maybe) from any of the chapters at the character selection screen (or at stylist at least if implemented). There are styles I like from each chapter but I wish I could select a hairstyle from one character from one chapter and use it on another chapters character. Even better would be able to have ALL the hairstyles (or even faces too) available to any profession from any chapter. However, I may be hoping for too much.

OK, I just finished reading through the whole thread and came across Lovitars posts.
While frustrated that it seems that a stylist will never be implemented, I still would like to suggest on having a broader selection of hair styles, faces, and such at the character creation screen.
Simply put, faces and hairstyles are gender specific. Not class specific.
Second suggestion: Still make the hair dyable at the character selection. Instead of a preselected choice of colors, you can choose how dark/light or even multi colored you hair could be (within feasible reason).
If players cant change what they have now, let us be able to have more options at the beginning of the game. It would help against seeing many clones running around,

I would love to see a hairstylist ingame. That salon would make more money than all the weapon and armor guys put together.
However, I understand that the developers are probably busy on more important aspects of the game. In the meantime, I'd like to suggest a rather simple change. If Gaile Gray or anyone else with influence is reading this, would it be quick and easy to make hair dyable?

i am in favor of as many choices as possible right down to the color of your eyes on creating your character.
i am not against more choices because i personally would like a ton more myself.
the devs have said once a character is created and you hit the last create button, that character is linked to your account and after that is UNCHANGABLE.
not that they will not, but they can not change the created account which has the character in it
Shanaeri Rynale
Not sure thats true any more. You char can be a wurm, elf, candy thing, and a kournan. Also hair and faces were changed for existing chars during a few updates so a change to the characters model is possible.
A possible solution is temporary dye that lasts a long as the login session..

Neriandal Freit
However, if that temporary dyeing of the hair would be enabled, people here at Guru and other places would ask (and sadly, some demand) that it be made permanent for a character.
But, you do bring up a very good point Shanaeri, that we can be turned into an Elf, a Kouran, a wurm, a candy corn come to life and who knows what else now. So how isn't it possible to change someone's hair style, and select a new color of hair now at this stage of development?

I was trying to say, from what you had repeatedly posted, that it would seem that the in game stylist would not be implemented. From that post, I was trying to give another option that could/should be made available.

the elf/candycorn man /etc are one size fits all special effects that do not change the account.
the graphics bug did not change the account.

And sorry to burst your bubble, but once you confirm a character, you CANNOT change the features on it, apart from weapons and armour
This is why some of us, including most of the mods (moderators) on this and other forums have characters that are nearly 2 years old now and really and desperatly hope they add this small money sink feature

It would be fun to put a goatee on my Elementalist and remove it from my Mesmer, or change the length/style of ones hair or darken the other.

No matter how expensive it is, I would pay to have my character get a haircut, I'm sick of seeing pigtails.
