I'd like an CTRL-TAB key that cycles through party members that are within spell range. Having a monk heal efficiently is hard enough, wasting 2 seconds every now and again where the monk starts to "run" to a party member who wanders off is bad. As soon as I see the avatar running, am left scrambling for a way to stop him (beacuse I don't want to move). So, what I'd like is a tab mechanism that allows me to scroll through my party members that are in spell range -- the ones that wander off are on their own.

Right here.

How about random creature encounters? Maybe it's already slated for the release, but taking multiple characters through the same areas would be more enjoyable if you didn't know (almost exactly) where the creatures were going to show up. i know you can make changes on the fly/directly intervene when you want to, but more randomness woud be an excellent addition.

will the creature difficulty be able to scale to character level at some point? if i have a higher level character and i want to further exlplore areas that were neglected it would be nice to be able to earn some experience in previously areas.

get rid of the 100gp bag. use the eden area to teach salvage and have a crafter make a bag/belt from hide for a reasonable fee.

give some basic color choices for armor (brown/tan/green) and keep the 'hot' colors rare. people get some customization early on and can go for a specific 'look' later. and/or offer option of basic colors for extra gp at the crafter. we want to be different from each other in town, and in game you know who is who by looking, without having to mouse-over or take fingers from keys when you're in a fight

more as i think of them!

actually, if you have highlighted a teammate, it will show on your map their character blip slightly different. i used that to tell whether or not the person that was getting low on health was a "rift runner" or someone near me and the ghost that needed healing.

recently i started a gw thread on gamespot.com to gather minor suggestions for the game, over 30 people posted over 50 messages, and we came up with some minor suggestions that i think could PERFECT this already amazing game. firstly, a lot of people thought that the merchant's inventories were worthless, and that everything seemed to be only worth one gold. also people got annoyed with the fact that you cant jump or swim. also everyone thought that it was GREAT that it was free monthly, but one guy had severe concerns that the game would turn out to be like the sims and put out a new expansion pack every month. i saved the most important suggestion for last; EVERYONE unanimously agreed that there was a lack of items, and things like a recurve bow, a short bow, and a long bow all looked identicle. we all also thought that being able to only get armor from salvaging it was an agonizing process, as opposed to finding all different types of cool looking armor and trying to find an amazing and unique matching suit that you can show off. other than that all the other posts were about how excited we were for the next beta event.

thank you for listening for my suggestions, and i hope i was a help

Remember tough that not all of the items are said and done for their icons. While I was going through pre-searing I kept getting the guy in a construction hat icon when I picked up one of the flowers. I am with you though that there should be more differentiation.

Once upon a time..

I'm really sorry if this suggestion has been posted already -- I tried the search thread option.. but didn't see it mentioned.. so here is my suggestion :

Please bring back the option to tie armor to the f1, f2 etc, buttons with the weapons! I remember that the Jan BWE had this function, but it disappeared last BWE. I know that it was pretty shocking to hit F2, and suddenly you're naked, but it was quite easy in the Jan layout to assign the same set of armor to all four keys, but with different weapons. The reason that I want this back is that I find myself wanting to switch armor sets suddenly, and it's very inconvenient to open my inventory, and then individually double click each armor piece -- if I'm rushed and in a hurry, sometimes I click the wrong thing (yes, I'm clumsy! ), and rewear parts of the old armor again..

Another, almost flighty reason for my intense desire for this feature to return is that some of the armor most suited for my playing style in battles are not what I like aesthetically. Maybe it's because I'm a girl irl, and I very much fall into that silly stereotype of that female who gets giddy at the mere sight of a vast array of clothing options (even in virtual worlds), but I had used that feature to quickly switch between sets of clothing -- one for towns and one for serious battle. And.. if such easy and rapid wardrobe changes somehow in any way provide an unbalancing feature in pvp ("they're using fire attacks! quick, put on your flame-suits!") and hence, was the reason for the feature's removal.. would there be anyway to work out a compromise for the sake of convenience?

Thank you for reading.

P.s.. also stemming from blatant self interest.. like many others here, I also would absolutely love any type of mail system -- especially one that will mail gold and crafting materials. I know that there will be many times when I will willingly pay to transfer items between different accounts (through some type of mailing system) just because I feel bad at continually and repeatedly asking guildmates to transfer items for me.

I think that a /follow method should be implemented. In FFXI you were able to highlight a selected character and simply type /follow in your chat box, I think this is a good feature for those of us that are lazy, or go afk momentarily and dont want our party going way ahead of us. I often found myself having to wait for a party member because they had to do something real quick, where as if he/she were able to just follow one of our party members it would've saved us a little amount of time. I understand that you are able to click on a character and momentarily follow that character, but as soon as they attack something or something along those lines, you are no longer following them. Also if you do use the /follow command I think it should still apply when you zone out, for example you're in a town, and the person you are following does a quest. In the new area you should still be following that person. Another thing that might be a negative to this type of feature is you'll probably have a large amount of lazy people following someone around through quests and having that person level up their character. I also believe that if an entire quest is completed with the /follow feature, that person should not be alotted the skill points, nor have it shown that the quest is completed. I just find this feature a convenience and am hoping that maybe if there are any negative sides to this feature they would be brought up.

er..last i checked there was a follow method of just clicking on that person and then hitting space. least that is what we used for the past few BWEs.

I think implementing /follow would be detrimental to Guild Wars' design. I, and I'm sure many others, picked up this game because it was one of the few fast-paced, adrenaline-pumped online RPGs. I like that I can play a mission in Guild Wars, and all my teammates are focused entirely on the game. Nobody lapses between being AFK and not, nobody stays silent for hours on end, because actually playing the game is paramount. The game won't allow you to be a lazy arsewipe and ruin the party's fun. Implementing /follow and other commands that play the game for you would only start steering this game towards your Everquests, your Final Fantasy XIs, and your World of Warcrafts. Monotonous zero-effort macro-ridden screensavers.

And I'm done.

Ya, as someone mentioned, if you select any creature (be it an enemy OR a friendly) you will persue that target by pressing your generic action key. If it's an enemy, you will attack it when you get close. If it's a friendly, you stop following when you get close. You can't follow someone all the way through a mission unless you can manage to never catch them. If you do, you just stop and stand there until the action key is pressed again.

Anyway, you can get the mission completed by just being in the mission when it's finished, regardless of where you are. You'll get minimal experience though if you never leave the start, but there's not much that can be done about it. I'm not sure I see why it matters anyway. Level 3 in Lion's Arch? You go boy! Now prepare to die... a lot.

I know this is a suggestions thread, not a debate thread, but since this seems like a non-issue, I figured I'd interject.

I want more fun or stupid little things added in guild wars just for the humerous parts of it. i believe it would really lighten it up when ur with friends and just wanna cracka joke or somthing. like maybe as i said in a earlier thread maybe it would be funny if u could pick up a rock, brick, stick whatever and throw it at something like a monster or one of ur team mates for fun just to piss em off.or it would also be funny if wou could kick each other like kick in the shin and they jump with pain like kick monster or human maybe as a emote. i wanna c more fun lil things in the game.it would be fun to play fetch with the animal.
Also it would be nice if your could fish or somthing although u cant eat or anyhting in guild wars it might be fun to get some fish or maybe some items in the river or pond.
Also there are cut off parts in guild wars where ur just walking sopmewhere and suddenly ur not going anyways i think instead of an invisible wall there should actually be somthing there like a stone wall, wall of some type, mountain ect.
Also as somone said in a ealier post it would be nice if there were different looks for items like different looking bows/ armors / swords ect. it sorta gets weird when u get a supposedly upgraded and better bow that looks exactly the same as the worst bow in the game sorta like d2 where like there are same types of armor but stronger.
it would be nice if the alli/party/friends commands were easier like if u could write down ur friends account and so it just says where he is ect instead of having to write down 50 different names of ur different friends characters
Dunno there's still alot i have to say but i forgot it all now...
Also it would be nice if there were different rewards for quest besides exp and a skill if its a big quest

Hey, all,

I just wanted to post to say that yes, we are still monitoring this thread, and in fact are continuing with the process of culling the best and brightest posts and sharing them with the team.

Just because the BWE has been over for a couple of weeks -- or doesn't open for a couple of weeks, depending on how you look at it -- we're still actively reviewing your posts and considering your thoughts as we continue development.

Thanks for all the good input!

In that case, I think you should really take a good look at this thread:

If items are so important to the game now that there are currently bots out just to get them, that seems highly counter to the "skill, not time played" goal.

I agree with the idea stated in the thread that all item mods and abilities should be craftable. That way anyone has the ability to make the weapon that is right for their character without having to bot or put months into the game.

I also thought the side topic about runes just being general grind because everyone uses about the same runes for their builds was interesting. Perhaps you could limit the amount of runes allowed in armor to 3 only or something similar that would actually make choosing runes a choice. As it is now, people just generally know that they have to find a +50 health vigor rune and minor runes for all of the attributes they are using from their primary before they can PvP.

I was discussing Guild Wars with my students ('cause I'm a cool teacher like that) and we were discussing the lack of jumping ability of characters...One clever girl noticed that all creatures seem to be "earth bound"...Bringing up two suggestions...

1) If jumping is added (a feature many of us would like to see) the other creatures of the realm should also have this ability, or is this world a high-grvity planet?

2) Not that characters should be able to, but maybe some enemies should be capable of an attack from above, as in flight. A flying enemy could be a great challenge for higher level characters and offer some interesting strategies for non-ranged attackers. A flying pet could serve as a great distraction and disruptor (probably need to be a bit weeker than land-bound pets for balanced gameplay.

Just 2 more cents worth

It would be great if you could change the status of your character to automatically be thrown into a 4 person party that the system would build based on character attributes (ala XBOX). For the people that don't live online and just want to jump in quickly, this might be a good option - not for everybody (and you need to be able to opt out), but for the random player that has only 45 minutes or so to play before the kids get up - it might be pretty slick.

Your Humble Servant,
Miles Teg
1.Random PvE groups - yes supporting this one!
We already have that system in the ARENA, it wouldn't be that hard to implement since it is already implemented. This would though be a MAJOR change, but you guys should have the code for it already.

So, I would have to agree with Sir Teg here that this would be a good idea. It would be great if you had the option to "ENTER BALANCED GROUP" for your 4 man or 6 man missions, which consists of at least one monk and a warrior, then randomize the others or however you guys are doing it in the Arena.

One of the restraints should be that you couldn't join a group if you already had joined X number of groups the last 10 minutes and dropped out, to avoid those &*)%*&*^**, that ruins it for everybody.

Good Idea Sir Teg. Just had to tell you that this isn't that far fetched since we have it in the PvP arena.

2. Mana Bar.
And on another note - why not allow players in groups to see the Mana bar of other players as well. Make it an option you can toggle off or on.

3. Signet of Capture should fit into the non existent 9th Slot. If you bring the signet, you weaken your charachter and you are of less benefit to your group. It is a lot easier to farm for a a few hours in the first 10 missions and then purchase your skill at the skill charm vendor in Lions Arch. (you send your other char or a friend to buy it). It would make the PvE experience more fun if everybody had the option to capture a skill as a bonus.

4. What to do with the useless drops ..Lets say you find horns, spikes, feathers, Grawl necklaces or whatever, which we have done in all the BETA's. Why couldn't we use those drops to Customize our Armor ? You would go to the crafter and customize your armour with a horn / spikes/ whatever. The armour woulnd't gain a boost or buff, but it could look great!..Yeah I know this one is a little silly, but what the heck!!!

5. This is for the FORUM guys like Saus and others. Make the suggestion thread so you can ONLY post once and then just edit your own post, when you come up with something new. Is this possible ? A few of the guys have like 15 posts with nothing in them...

I love this game. Best game ever made! My dreams come through for a game! Hooked since WPE. You guys at Arenanet should get a standing ovation and a brass band when you guys finally release this game on APRIL 28! Yeah!

IN the next beta i wanna know if we're gona be able to charm some of those other animals we see like black bears and wolves. Also i wanna have different types of rewards. not just exp, even though exp is nice it would be nice if one of the quest givers gives you like a egg or a baby pet or somthing or somthing fun or cool some items like wood, gold, hides.

And i still wanna be able to throw a rock/twig/stick at people and enemies.also a fun kicking emote would be cool to, just press /kick near a person and it kicks whoevers in that direction even a monster maybe dunno most of my ideas stink but i think they'd make the game alot more fun and cool

Glyph Tracer by Tessien

Glyph Tracers are a primary caster class, with some melee abilities, almost all of their abilities rely on the tracing in the air of glyphs, that when fully cast have some sort of effect on others, or themselves, a few facts about Glyph Tracers, they do not have huge energy reserves instead they have a very high energy regeneration, this results in them being able to cast only a few glyphs per battle but being able to still cast for the next one, they also have higher health than the more common spellcasters. Therefore they are especially devastating with another casting class to back up their own powerful abilities, and add a bigger energy reserve. They can also use a weapon using secondary class to increase their capabilities for more “physical” destruction. Glyph Tracers are unique among all the classes in that they have no signets, all their abilities take time, this means that those who play as glyph casters must be especially careful not to make a mistake as there will be no quick casting to save them. They also have a very unique weapon set, upon finding a weapon Glyph Tracers can choose to alter the weapon making it into a semi permanent glyph weapon, they do this by removing some of the physical matter of the weapon and replacing it with glyph structures this has the effect of making the weapon ethereal (see through and cool looking, glowing with various colors dependant on the types of runes traced), it also allows the glyph tracer to create a unique weapon by tracing various glyphs onto a glyph weapon, these glyphs will be permanent until the glyph master chooses to remove them however only 2 glyphs can be active on a glyph weapon at one time, , this causes it only to be usable by other glyph tracers who have been trained in the use of these weapons, these weapons have slightly decreased damage, but have the ability to “steal” energy from their targets and transfer it to the Glyph Tracer, unfortunately Glyph Tracers are unable to trace glyphs onto bows effectively, because the arrow is what strikes the target and once released it is no longer in contact with the Glyph Tracer. Their attributes are:

Primary: Glyph Mastery
Secondary: Glyph Weapon mastery
Secondary: Light Glyph mastery
Secondary: Shadow Glyph mastery
Secondary: Chaos Glyph mastery

Glyph mastery increases the effectiveness of various glyphs, whether through decreasing the energy cost, increasing the damage, or increasing the area of effect. Needless to say any serious Glyph Tracer will be investing points in this ability in order to increase their skills powers.

Glyph Weapon Mastery: Glyph Weapon mastery increases the power of the glyph weapon skills that a glyph tracer uses.

Light Glyph mastery increases the effectiveness of light glyphs.

Shadow Glyph mastery increases the dark powers of the glyphs of the shadow.

Chaos Glyph master increases the powers of the unpredictable chaos glyphs, often resulting in interesting events.
Note: the three secondary skills give greater benefits to their related skills, but not always the same benefits as glyph mastery.

Glyph tracer skills are divided into 4 distinct “paths” melee glyph skills, light glyph skills, shadow glyph skills, and chaos glyph skills.

Here is a list of a few Melee glyph skills (note glyph masters can carve melee glyphs onto another characters weapon, however unlike a glyph carved onto a glyph weapon it will be only temporary and the effects will be reduced in power):
Permanent: (if the glyph will be permanent when carved onto a glyph weapon)
Traceable: (whether it can be traced onto a normal weapon for a short time)

Glyph of speed: Increases the speed of the weapon, by a x percent, the speed of the weapon and the energy cost increase with levels
Cast time: 1 second
Permanent: Yes
Traceable: Yes
Duration (for normal weapon): 300 seconds

Glyph of the fallen friend: When a party member nearby dies this glyph temporarily doubles the damage of the weapon, note henchmen do not count as party members.
Cast time: 3.5 seconds
Duration: 35 seconds
Permanent: no
Traceable: no

Kalgaleths Anguish(elite): When the user takes damage x percent of it is spread to all other members of the party.
Cast time: 5 seconds
Permanent: no
Traceable: yes
Duration: 20 seconds

Light Glyphs are glyphs that affect party members, they are mainly buffs, or relatively weak healing spells, and a few can be used offensively.

Glyph of Solar Flash: Temporarily blinds a group of targets, reducing their effectiveness in combat.
Cast time: 4 seconds
Duration: 10 seconds

Glyph of Warding: raises a protective shield around the caster reducing the damage they receive from melee attacks.
Cast time: 2 seconds
Duration: 15 seconds

Glyph of Unity: all party members gain increased defense when within ten feet of the caster.
Cast time: 2 seconds
Duration: 20 seconds

Shadow Glyphs: The “Evil” side of glyph magic, also the most aggressive glyphs.

Glyph of the Hidden One: temporarily makes the caster invisible, allowing him to scout ahead, broken by attacking or taking damage, (or casting spells)
Cast time: 5 seconds
Duration: 60 seconds

Price of Failure: whenever a monster or party member nearby dies, they explode for shadow damage equaling a percent of their health.
Cast time: 6.5 seconds
Duration: 45 seconds

Glyph of Doom: the target monsters have their attack and defense lowered by x percent
Cast time: 7 seconds
Duration: 15 seconds
Danions deadly puzzle: Deals x shadow damage to the enemy, also deals 50 percent damage to nearby units.
Cast time: 1 second
Glyph of Annihilation(elite): deals x shadow damage to a 20 foot area, monsters in the area that are casting spells will be dealt increased damage
Cast time: 10 seconds

Chaos Glyphs: the unpredictable ones. Discovered by in a mistake by a renowned scholar these glyphs are extremely unpredictable. (note on chaos damage either 100% physical 50% chance, 25% physical and 75% of a random element 40% chance , or healing for half of the damage 10% chance)

Tessiens unpredictable sigil: Deals x chaos damage over 20 seconds over a 10 foot area
Cast time: 1 second
Duration: 20 seconds

Nashers unfathomable structure

All party members have one of the following effects occur to them: 5% fully healed 5% brought to 1 hit point 50% damage doubled for 10 seconds 30% damage reduced by half 10% teleported to some random place within 20 feet.
Cast time: 3 seconds

I apologize if this has already been asked, but I just didn't have the initiative to read all of these suggestions one by one. Anyways, it would be nice if you could have some sort of dwelling. I know other MMORPG's have this, an example being Final Fantasy XI's mog house or buying property in Ultima Online. It could also double as extra storage, and you could have a system where if someone wanted to give you something but you weren't online, there would be an NPC they could go to and pay x amount of gold for "postage" and it would be sent to that person's mailbox at their house.

Here is an unusual suggestion....

If you want gold sinks, then ... make /emotes learnable for a cost.
Have some school with a cost that people can goto to learn an emote. Every time you want to add a new sink ... add a new emote. This give some characters a little more uniqueness and be an easy way to add another gold sink to the game to keep the economy under control.

Give the ability for people to set a LFG flag PvE or PvP. This would make it easier to know if somoene is actually LFG or not. Quite often there are people of the same guild that only want to join guildies ... so they would clearly be set and not wanting invitations every few seconds. This is especially problematic for monks. To expand on this concept, when you call up a LFG search tool, you can select, chat and invite people to your group ... maybe even across zones, by agreeing to join the group you automatically change zone to the zone of the group that you are joining.

Colour Code the names of the people in your guild or in your WAW (if they are mixed throughout the same zones) so it is easy to see who is friend/foe.

Chat logging. Have the ability to turn on logging so that chat messages and maybe combat messages get logged to a chat file on the local PC. This was a common tool that people used in DaoC and useful for alot of things. Some things that come to mind is logging DEV chats, guild meetings etc...

this doesnt really involve the real game, but the beta. i think... because alot of people like me have slow dial up. we have to wait hours just to download the first bit of information.I spent my first day in the feb beta testing just downloading all day and only got to play on sat and sun... Well the first part of information is alot so i think iit would be nice if the guild wars team let us download the first bit of information that would normally takes along time to download 1 day b4 the beta so we can get a clean nice start, and so we dont have to wait all day like me and download. esp right after you create a new char it takes me along time to download that part.So my idea is that we should be able to download 1 day ahead , Just downloading, so we dont have to wait all day to download while our friends are playing and eventually end up way ahead of us. or somthing

Or guild wars could just allow small update files on the main site, followed by a exe that packs the files into the main file in the guildwars directory, There for you can download all those files during your own time (when beta week end isnt on) That why when the guild wars is on, you only have to gather a couple of files, that they have just updated in the game.Instead of sitting around for hours on end waiting to download 2000 files, before you even get a chance to play.

I noticed the whole fair to all users (using stremeline technology) splashed on a page somewhere. if the guild war dudes really want to make it fair for everyone, at least offer a solution to this problem, so that dial up users dont waste a whole day just gathering files. when faster users can play within a matter of minutes. its a totally unfair situation, its kind of premoting the game to fast internet connection in order to play this game. And honestly i know about 10 people near my house who are out of exchange to recive ADSL or a Broadband connection simply cos of where they live, there for are unable to play guildwars. if this soultion isnt fixed, i could ganrentee that dialup users will get bored and frustrated easily, and throw this game into the bin.

I'm with Keramon on the gold sinks issue. There should be all kinds of gold sinks just for character personalization. There could be different dances that your character could learn. I've already stated that tattoos that are just for looks on your character could be added (as opposed to those of a monk). And other things like that here and there.

While posting about other things just a little while ago this idea came into my head. Feel free to respond and comment about the feasablity and what-not.

I was thinking that perhaps a Ranger (or perhaps another profession added later) could have a bird of prey as a pet. The bird would be small enough to alight upon your shoulder or arm while not moving for more than 3 minutes and while in mission outposts.....but not in towns (to avoid lag). The pets would be the size of a falcon or hawk in comparison to the characters, about a meter to 1.5m wingspan.

While moving in outposts and PvE the falcon would circle the master high above, not neccesarily in the field of view of the character even when zoomed out. When attacking the falcon would make diving attacks at the target, say either coming in from high altitude or attacking in a swooping method from behind or to the side of the master. Imagine that at times perhaps you could see it coming in from behind the target at speed....whap!!! Then it would climb again for its next attack.

At the start (level 1) lets say the falcon circles just at the top of your screen when zoomed out (maybe) and has fast attacks, say once every two seconds or so, but those attacks would of course be relativly weak since he isnt getting much speed before the hit. As the falcon levels he starts climbing in altitude.....circling higher and higher so that when it attacks it hits harder...having more speed and energy behind the attack. Here is where I am not real sure of the attack speed....should it be once every 4-5 seconds....slower? Faster? While wanting it to be a reasonable amount of damage done I am also thinking that the falcon should not out-damage the Ranger but perhaps come close when it is level 20.

The falcon should also be close enough when circling to be targetable for PvP and healing. It should never be completely outside of the range of an opposing ranger or caster. Except of course when the master is also out of range.

Attacks: Primary attack would be a dive-bomb type of attack where it simply hits the target as it is flying by. Secondary attack perhaps would be an occasional hovering talon swipe or three where it may do less damage and risk getting knocked down or killed. Perhaps have one special skill attack that would be calling it to do a high-powered dive attack for more than the usual dive damage, but taking longer for follow-up attacks and maybe dealing a little damage to it in the process. I am also thinking that the dive attacks would perhaps have an interrupt effect upon casters, especially the skill attack.

Health: Obviously this pet would have to be low on health compared to the others so that it would be balanced with its difficulty to hit. I am not sure of numbers....50-100 health perhaps? I'm thinking that 2-3 solid hits from most anything should knock it out completely. The occasional warrior being able to one-shot it does not seem unreasonable. Or does it?

Avoidance: With this pet obviously the key to survival is not getting hit. However we cannot have a pet that can never be hit, so the real challenge would be in balancing the damage dealt with the health and avoidance of hits. Too strong a falcon and we would have nearly invincible birds that deal enough damage to kill by the time you land even one hit on it. Too weak and you have a pet that no one wants and dies anytime it goes into battle.

Pet Tactics: Okay in keeping with the whole bird, cat, dog racial tension thing.....perhaps having the falcon occasionally swoop in for the kill on something small enough to be considered food.....but no random attacks on bears, Gargoyles or Tengue (or Grawls....whatever they will be called) or at least not as often as the others (hey its circling up high....shouldn't be noticed as easily).

Okay now the floor is open for comments and suggestions.....

Sounds like an interesting pet. However if such a pet could fly it would also mean that there would be monsters that also fly. The only problem is would this falcon just primely focus on attacking ground creatures or creatures in the air? or both?

The interesting idea here is not all pets have the ability to attack both ground and air. so maybe this benifit could be used in conjustion with a weakness. Example: the falcon is an excerlent pet allowing it to dive in and attack monsters from behind doing around 2-5 damage to ground units. (Falcon does suprise attacks to the enemies on ground, making it not get hit as often, as a ground pet would)

The falcon also give a scout bonus to the party (maybe increase the parties evade by 1) The falcon also recives a 20% increase speed bonus when attacking, gound creatures. (basically allows it to dodge majority of enemy attacks)

However The falcon due to its small body only has a lifespan of 5Hp. So one attack will no doubt kill the bird. The other down fall to the falcon is, it doesnt recive an increased speed bonus when attacking monsters that can fly.

So, yes it can still die by gound creatures. but the chance of it dying by a ground creature is low. At every 5 levels that the falcon levels up its sight inceases providing the party with 1 extra evade point. If pets gave bonus to the parties such as this falcon. then no doubt player would use them. i know for sure id use a pet if it increased one of my stats by 1. even if it was weak.

Anyways thats just my opin on your falcon birdy.

In the january beta weekend there was a button in the inventory that, if pressed, sorts all your items into order. I found that very useful and made it easier to find things. In the february beta weekend this button was gone... do you think it coulr be brought back?

Thanks

Ya well back on the thing of slow dial up... ya im one of those people who cant get faster internet i HAVE to have dial up because i live on a mountain side(stupid dsl companys wont come up). Ya i want some way to download ahead. i dont mean like all the game. maybe just that begining part of the game that takes the longest. like right after you create the character.it took me since i got home around 4:10 till 11 something to complete downloading it...then i had to go to sleep because it had to download for another 3 hours when i left town to wonder the wilderness. So well the next day was alot of learning...so my friend was already in the old new ascolon(ruined one) while i was stuck dialing everytime i left town entered a new area or anything. just when i sold something to the vendor it would make me download another 5 minutes. So on the very last day sunday. I did this quest where Prince rurik wants to go to kryton and he yelling at the king about it. well it was downloading ... i left came back 45 minutes later i thought it would be done ... it was 5% and it was 10 pm so i pretty much said screw it. it would never of finished downloading. Ya well i just want some way to predownload...it wouldnt hurt anyone... just a predownload anyways it takes my friend 2 seconds to download somthing that would take me 2 hours so it would be fare.
I dont like it how everytime i got a new quest or bought or sold it would make me download although it only took my friend 2 seconds it would take me 10 minutes for a quest and 5 minutes for a item i sold or bought.Man i want fa ster internet, but im limited .................THERES NOTHING I CAN DO...
PLZ INTERNET COMPANIES LET THE PEOPLE WHO LIVE ON MOUNTAINS GET FASTER INTERNET BESIDE THE STUPID SATELITE which cost like $$$ and doesnt even help much...CHeapos one thing on the newspaper said they gona let eveyone who lived in santa rosa where i live have a chance to get comcast,... but not me....they never gave us a chance.

Also about the animal thing it would be nice if a few other classes could get other animals too because i was thinking of making a mesmer/monk but then realized it wouldnt be as fun without a fun animal to die for me i orginally was gonna make a ranger/necro but then i thought and concluded that it might be boring, but then it may not ... but then again i can only play for 1/3 amount of time that everyone else can play ...

Also one more thing at LEAST 90% of my time playing guild wars was dialing i swear ;(

Please don't change the game for the rest of us because somebody can't part with $14 to go to Wal-Mart and upgrade to a 56k modem.
Thank you.

The game would not be changed so much as there would be allowed predownloading for those who have slow connection speeds. This arguement has been brought up before, if you had went back to read a little bit. Anyway, I can see where he is coming from. Dial up can really suck. Even 56k is retardedly slow for stuff like this. So predownloading from the site or having the initial files available on the disk (at release) would be helpful for those who do not have a high connection speed.

edit- Look below, see? Not so much to worry about now. I'm glad we had this discussion.

Note to Administration: Is the reply from Wingnut is deleted, like I've seen you guys do before with such arguements, I am willing to edit this post accordingly.

dont forget everybody that the game (MOST of what you are complaining about downloading) will be on the cds in the game box

you will be downloading gameplay and public area info
not maps and content except when they add something

Now somebody may have already said this but i think that level 20 is kinda low if u want people to keep playing the game, higher level cap would make a longer gameplay duration. Thats my opinion and if somebody already said that than disregard this post.

ya i know but what i am complaining about is pretty much just for betas so i can get alot of fun outa em. Also my dial up isnt 56k its about 15k because i live on a mountain side so im not entitled to faster internet beside satelite which isnt even that good and cost like $-$, but when downloading on the game it goes to 2k...

Also It might not be such a good idea to alot of people, but i thought it would be cool if the system had someway of communicating with people on b net probably couldnt for reasons maybe blizzards hates a net for competition or somthing, but i just thought it would be nice if somehow some way they could connect the whispering methods so i can communicate with my old friends on d2 so far ive converted 3 of my friends to guild wars. still trying to convert another... but i have long friends from it like known em for 2-3 years... oh well this idea is probably stupid but well its a idea

The Wrong Guild

An option to turn the Guild Hall into a "deathmatch" arena, where everyone can just attack eachother. Not only can this create some funny, time killing situations, i think it's also convenient to test out new skills against different armors, etc. You should just be allowed to change skills like in town, though.

I'm thinking, if people don't like it they're free to ignore it. I know i won't be using it much (though that would also depend how willingly my target practise doll is :P), but i don't think it would be hard to implement.

To avoid abuse maybe let each participant click the "deathmatch" button first, with two or more a confirmation shows up, when all click yes they'll get teleported to an arena.

Hmm, what guildwars people should have said to the public is: Our beta test is only for 56k users and up. if you have anything lower, beat it. in onther words get lost, or upgrade your connection before attemping to play the beta. Or wait for its release.

Or even just allow people to connect to server to primerly update files, and not play. example you connect to it on a thursday and set ya computer to gather those 1000's of files, (example: getting files for <area>, it will switch to another area later after that current area files have been downloaded, and so on and so forth) while you sleeping. when its finished downloading the files you see the normal message you get when trying to connect to it, your account is all prepared for next beta weekend. Unless it is beta weekend then you go into the game. so there for you still cant play it unless it is beta weekend. but at least it will take some ease of the downloading for low connection users. otherwise perhaps option 1 is a more forward approch to low connection users.

I myself have a 56k modem, but only get a 33.6k connection to the guildwars server, maybe because i am connecting from australia. but i have experianced a lower connection before, in other games. so i'm just thinking back to those days, and giving out an opinon which could benifit both parties. But when you think about it all people get a fair go. And inst that what people are looking for? or should guildwars dudes, slap the sticker on the box saying its only for the faster internet users who may benifit in this world?

Yes, it seems that there are quite a few complaints about the connection speed, but once again, let me assure you that it's mostly for the beta weekends. From what I've heard all these files will be on the disk upon release. Perhaps, Arenanet may read these and allow some predownloading of files, but all in all, it shouldn't be a major issue because there's only two beta weekends before release.

Great Idea, glad I thought of it.

Just bustin' yer chops...You did a much better job of laying out the idea. I think a falconry skill would be awsome, allowing a choice of birds even MORE awsome, but let's face it...they only have so much time and a lot of game already on the way.

As I see it, there is great potential for this game to evolve, though. Just playing over the BWE I saw little bits being added here and there...Maybe someday, one of the developers will think "hmmm...what can we do to it today that will add even more dimension to the game...?" and someone will consider that a Ranger with no secondary skills might be considered a purist and therefore can earn skills that rangers with secondaries are not privy to (certain secrets developed in the wild while others were going to "monk-school")...It's something to consider.

Ya ive been trying to say that i want to be able to download b4 Also how did u get 33 k dial up i only get 2k dial up... i live in the mountains so the stupid internet doesnt work here very well and we have no options to get faster internet because we live in the mountains and companies wont come here

Also it would be ncie if the necromancer had a revive skill because welll he IS a raise dead and dead control person maybe a revive party member/-%whatever
yet it would also be nice if the necrop could get some type of animal skill thing like a cockroach or a pet zombie for fun. but well 50% why i choose the ranger is because i want the pet for fun

hmm my internet has been going REALLY slow lately i mean it was slow b4 at 20k normal internet dial up but Now ITS REALLY SLOW it takes like 5 minutes jsut to go to a thread or quote page for some reason dunno if its virus or somthing because it cost aloto f$ to update mcaffe , those cheapos

Well I'm glad you approve

Over at The Guild Hall we are having some discussion about it as well, possibly even it becoming more like a weapon of a new profession rather than a pet.

first lemme say that i havent read all the posts/suggestions so if im repeating what someone else has alrdy voiced...forgiveness please ,)
ok..so for the FEB. weekend i played a MONK character for the first time..cuz there never seems to be one around when ya need one...i went with the "healing" monk instead of the "fighting" monk..concentrated on healing my party, not attacking...because of this i hardly ever got XP...my suggestion is this...MONKS should get XP for healing their party...for real..i kept my parties alive through many tough fights and if not for my healing we wouldnt have survived many battles that we did....feedback?

When your group kills a mob, everyone gets an equal amount of xp for it regardless of what job they did. I was also a caster that needs to stay a fair distance away from the mob and I noticed no lack of experience unless I was way out of spell range at the time it died.

If you are not getting xp as a monk, you are either on the other side of the radar from where the rest of your group is killing it (try getting a bit closer ) or perhaps the radius at which mobs give xp needs to be tweaked in the case of monks.
