Do you still have to have your pre-order key.....I got my pre-order the day they were made available. I doubt I'll still be able to find the key. Isn't it stored on my account or am I going to have to re-enter this thing?

I've played in the Beta Weekend Events and I've received a lot of files over that time. Do I pretty much have everything I need to play Guild Wars already on my computer?

No, not really. There are whole new regions you've never visited, so you will obtain those assets from the game CD. There are all those new missions and explorable areas and quests that you will acquire. And of course, there will be a modest update on the day you launch the retail version, which will revise any files we might have changed since the game went to duplication, and will also assure that you have the files that will entitle you to your spiffy in-game items and the newest account options.

Do I have to buy the North American version of the game to play with my North American friends?

I heard that there might be just one server, seamless, 10,000 people playing on it, just i think GW going to be popular so wondering if there will be more then one server and/or regional servers.

No you don't, its all in one big server I believe.

If you look on the guild wars web-site, I read that there will be many servers located around the world. You can choose which geographic region you wish to play in, if you have friends in the U.S. then pick a server there. It will not be just one big server.

Ya i bought the pre-order bos from best buy today, and when i went to enter the access code it told me i already have access to these rights from this code, or soemthing to that affect i dont remeber it all and then it had ER=105 under it. I wrote the support people, but no answer back yet, so anyone got an swer fer me or am i boned?

I pre-ordered my guildwars game from gamestop.com and it did not mention even the slightest detail of getting a preorder package or being able to participate in the early access on the 27th.

What I was wondering is, will I be able to start when Guild Wars starts up for early access and if so how am I going to get the key required to join in on this.

No, you are not "boned".
I believe this is the way it is set up and the code should work on the 27th. I played the previous BWE so I know the code is valid.

EBGames.com says their releasing it the 26th but the official site says it's being released the 28th. Which one is right? Thanks in advance

it says shipping right? well you will get the game early but you cant play till the 28 when the servers open to people who havent preorderd

Totally confused, with info all over the place.

If I go to ebgames.com Today -April, 24th- and purchase the Guild Wars with Bonus! box (the link from the GW Preorder FAQ), will I be able to play on April 27th? I believe I can dl the client from guildwars.com, but need a key.

EBGames says the preorder boxes will ship on April 26th. Obviously it's not going to arrive in 1 day (I'm not paying for overnight shipping). I want to order this correctly so that I can be sure I'm able to play on April 27th, with the bonus items, etc.

Here's the question in a nutshell.
Do I have to wait until the 29th to actually play (Free 3day shipping at ebgames), or does EBGames email me a key (preorder, or a real live key) that I can use with the client DL from guildwars.com on April 27th?

NO they will not emial you a key. You will get it in your box.

If you get the pre-order box first, you can only play from the 27th till Midnight on the 28th PST (I am assuming PST since that is the time frame they used during the BWE). If EB ships you the regular game and you get that on the 29th, you are all set to play.

I like the idea of being able to play early with my pre-order key. However I would like to reccomend that those keys be extended for a few days after the offical release date. My reasoning for the extension is this...
1- Those that need to wait for their retail version to acctually make it to them through the mail/UPS/FedEx, etc.
2- Those that need to wait to get to the retail outlet where the pre-order was placed. For various reasons, work, school, etc.

It seems like a waste for those individuals to get an "early" start then be off for a few days then start again. While others that just walk into EB,BestBuy,Target, etc just keep on merrily slaying beasts and other guilds without interruption.

This happened to me with the Dang EQ2. (witch I no longer play) Pre-order direct from SOE and get email appollogies while others that did not preorder happily while away the hours just cause they walked into a random store that got MY preorder.

Any way, I enjoyed the BWEs and look forward to next week.

Are the boxes that are available to purchase now in retail stores good for April 28th on? I'm confused about "beta" keys versus "retail" keys. If I buy a box off the shelf today, is it the real deal, or just a beta key.

If it is the small yellow and white box...that is the pre-order with the "beta" key.

The other box with the Necro lady on it is the full release verision with the "retail" key

the "beta" key from the pre-order box will (the small yellow and white one) will work from the 27th(midnight) till the 28th(midnight). After that, you need the "retail" key from the other box to continue playing.
