Well, yes, but there's an issue of "why" as well. Why prevent us from buying the game earlier as preorderers.
However, the point is moot as we can still access the servers with our preorder keys.

you can log in to manage your account right now.
On the bottom left of the screen, you will see edit accounts. Select manage keys (something like that), and add whatever keys you have in to get the preorder item.
Long story, but I ended up with two pre-order keys so right now I have the bow and the targe.

From my experience from the beta, your name is put on hold for you for a period of time. So if you build a charcter then want to delete and start over, you can keep your name from that previous character as long as you create the new character soon thereafter. |

Okay, I read through the thread and I know many questions of similar nature have been made, but I just couldn't find one that answers mine specifically, and although I know that everyone's pretty much in the same boat and rather limited in information, I'm still hoping maybe somebody could shed some light.
I preordered the Collector's Edition from EB games and it arrived yesterday. With it i received the game, all the toys and the retail access key (that I believe will serve me from the 28th and on). I did not however receive a PreOrder key that would allow me early access from the 27th.
So I proceeded to pull a few strings and buy a PreOrder deal and the PreOrder access key will be in my hands in a few hours.
The question is, Upon installation and logging in for the first time I created an account and already provided it with my Retail access key. How will I go about entering the PreOrder access key now to obtain early access on the 27th? Do I create a new account and some how join both existing accounts on the 28th? will it allow me to associate both accounts so that what progress I make on early access will not be lost on the 28th?
Any productive answer would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Nevermind, Got my answer. Just ran GW again and downloaded a few files. Now it appears there are a few extra menus allowing territorial editing, personal Email editing and Account Key editing. Allows you to add extra keys & extra features if you own so many. Cheers mates.

I just got my retail box, is there supposed to be a separate preorder key in there somewhere? Or do I just use the main key on the inside cover of the cd case?

The smaller yellow and white box shown here is the pre-order box with the pre-order key you need to play on the 27th.

Damn, while my EB that I preordered at has the standard game already in, they don't have any CE in. Since I preordered yesterday, I guess it'll come in Thursday or Wednesday. They didn't have any early access keys, so I guess I can't play on the 27th.

I went to FutureShop today and bought the game, they still had some pre-order boxes left so I think in some stores it's still possible to get the pre-order code.
For the people who don't know how to enter the codes.. look at my screen shots, hope they help.
On fine GW Step 3 if you've pre-ordered the game and been playing in the beta events the April 27th will already be in there along with your free weapon listen on the bottom.
After you enter your game code you'll see if you return to that screen that the April 28th line will be added. I'm guessing if you just got your pre-order code you'll see nothing on that screen. You'll have to enter pre-order code 1st, then the game code.

Is the game really that tiny? I just bought the pre-order pack today and I downloaded the client off the guildwars website but it only installed a whopping 20mb or so?? Will it not download the full game until you are officially able to login and get started playing? Thanks.

So when I log in right now, I go to my character screen, select a character and hit the "play" button. It then takes me to this page. All fine and dandy, but the only option I get from there is to add another access key, which takes me here. Now I happen to have two Beta Keys, and they obviously are running my first one (the one I used during all the Beta Weekends) since they have given me the Kanthan Targe item (on the first screenshot). Since they have that code, why do I have to enter another one? And if I enter the second code here (still only a beta key) I get the second screenshot error.
What I'm getting at is this: will I be able to play tonight without the retail key? I know I'm supposed to be able to, and hopefully the little screen will go away once the servers go live, but does anyone happen to know for sure? (Gaile...) Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks,

vai demine, I'm having the same problem, although the only second pass code I have is the one that came for me to give a friend. It won't let me play either. Any help here? Ideas? Sorry if I sound short tempered, but I've been waiting all day to play this, and now it won't let me, though I've got the pre-ordered code, and already have the account set up... 
Edit to add, just looked at the sign in page again, and the page it tells you to enter your code has a message saying 'enter a new code here'. What new code, the main code is the one I got when I started the pre-release code?

That's an easy one.. The Servers are not up for Play.... early access starts at 12:01 PST
and as far as the other key.. if you have another Pre Order box code you can enter to get the other items... I have 3 of them on my account....

Before I am ostracized for not searching through these forums, I did search pretty thoroughly for an answer, but I must succumb to asking the public.
I pre-ordered Guild Wars about a month ago, and got my package with my pre-order key. I have never used this key, not even for beta. So I picked up the game today, and entered the RETAIL key first as my registration. I tried to add my pre-order account key, and it said it was already in use...? I am wondering if it mattered that I registered under the retail and not the pre-order key? Also, when I try to even register a new account, or add it to my existing account under the pre-order key it says its in use. Might anyone be able to help me out here? Is there something I am overlooking?

Ok, i must be missing something, i went to EB games yesterday and got my PRE-ORDERED game, sweet, i have it! but.. i guess i'm missing the pre-order key? it comes with two keys? i only see the one key (the retail one i supopse) on the back of the CD cover.. wheres the pre-order key? When i load guild wars, it says i am only authorized to play on the release date? why is that? i pre ordered it!

The retail box, regardless of whether you "pre-ordered" it like I did from GameStop...because they advertised "pre-order" means NOTHING other than you get the full retail version, and you cannot use it until the 28, as opposed to the "pre-order" box ($10) which allowed the early access.
All I can say to you is... if you "pre-ordered" and paid for shipping to get it early, like I did (thinking you had "officially" pre-ordered)as opposed to the free shipping offered....ask for your shipping to be refunded to you...I feel GameSpot was deceptive in listing it as "Pre-Order" under the circumstances of the actual release.
I asked for the shipping refund and got it.

When i preordered from EB, and the prerelease went live, it showed me as getting the Censors Icon, rather than the Ithas Bow, which i really need and wanted from the start.
You guys know any way of changing items? I already phoned EB, no preorder packs left.

I got the pre-order but it arrived today, after the go-live. I installed from the jewel case CD, but don't see the bonus bow? Was I supposed to use the other CD (from the paper envelope) 1st? There were no instructions on which CD to use. Am I hosed now and must re-install?

the preorder only comes with 1 disc. there is not all that much on that disc.
what you need to do is add the BWE Invitation code to your account. you will find this in a small white envelope and you can add it through your account info page.

Searched but did not find my answer. i ordered the boxed retail pre-order for GW from Best Buy and played for several betas. I now have ordered the collection edition. All of my chaarcters have a Canthan Targe shield. Is this the "Exclusive" in-game weapon? I have heard of bows, swords, etc? Are the items, do EB buyers get different items than Best Buy buyers?

When i bought it with bestbuy, they took 2-3 weeks to send me beta access key,(so i missed first beta) and yesterday, it came delivered, along with him wanting a cheque for custom charges (not notified in buying agreement, or shipping, gonna see if i can get it back) with everything in it. Wow, thanks, a beta key and an "invite a friend" key that wont work now !. I started guild wars up, and during play it asked me for a code. i looked inside the case, found it, scratched it(hardest thing ive ever had to scratch) and entered the code. I checked for my pre order item. Now, even though i payed more for it, and got it from an American retailer(which should entitle me to the american retail item) i get the europe item. this isnt much bother, just to let you know, the europe item is pretty cool. I heard about the "divine aura" which comes during emotes. This comes with the collectors edition, which i gathered was the preordered version(correct ?) yet i have no sparkle stuff on my hands while doing emotes. whats up with that ? NEED HELP with the sparkle stuff, everyone loves teh sparky ^^

The collector's edition is the one that costs twice as much and comes with an art book, headset, and in-game divine aura. This is very different from simply preordering.
