I agree. The preview/fitting room idea is excellent. And if you can't afford it you shouldn't be allowed to try it on.

The dye idea is kind of a good idea but needs more work. I like the idea of being able to tell what your armor would look like before you dye it but I think you need to have the dye in hand. As for mixing I'm not sure about previewing before mixing. Isn't that part of the fun of the game.

/signed I like both ideas. I spent proboably about 8k trying to get dye that looks red and not pink on my 15k druids armor. Oya, Pashet, I spit out my soda when I saw your avatar.

Good ideas. I really wish they had something for dye preview. Not just for mixing dye but for applying it to something.

On a lot of items you don't really know what part of the item the dye will affect. I've only figured that out by wandering around towns and looking at everyone else's stuff. That way the wasted the dye but I learned. ha.

That is what I intended. Especially now, it is exponentially more important than before to be able to see what dye is going to look like ahead of time on your armor and weapons because the price of dye is insane.

Nobody has pointed out any better dye charts since I mentioned it a while ago, so I'm going to take the one comprehensive dye chart and use the colors in an interface example. I should have something for you guys in the next few days.

I especially like the dye preview window. I've wasted alot of gold trying to dye some armors because they didn't look the way I expected.

I'd love a dye preview. I've wasted so many dyes trying to get my storm focus red.. orange.. blue.. neon green.. people. yet never red T_T

I was going to suggest this, but in case someone else had a little trouble understanding exactly what this guy is saying I'll write it out so it's more understandable:

Say you go to the first armourer in Ascalon. He doesn't sell Knight's armour, or any of the 15k sets. So you shouldn't be able to preview those armours because they're not available at that armourer.

You would have to get to Citadel to see the monk's 15k Judge's set.
You would have to get to Droknar's to see the warrior's platemail.

The fitting room is one of the better ideas I have seen, and I bet it was overlooked by the devs.
You don't buy a shirt without trying it on in real life, so why should you have to buy armour before you see what it looks like on your toon in-game.

Ok, I finally got the dye preview done. It was taking forEVER to go off dye charts with known color combinations, so I just decided to make one using the windows color chart for now. It was really complicated trying to make a gradient dye chart using actual GW colors with only having an hour or two here and there to work on it, so if I ever figure out something I can do with that and it turns out good, I'll re-post the dye preview interface with the actual GW color chart.

I'm going to edit the main post and move the attachments there so it's easier for everyone.

I love this, Infact I would go a step farther, by having the armorer linked to dye trader, people can also right out buy an already DYED ARMOR(cost will be @ current dye price) and it would be additive cost to the armor craft. This Idea might need fine tuning as using the color spectrum would be somewhat complicated since certain colors would be using saveral dyes into the mix, Still this Idea MUST BE IMPLEMETED IN THE INSTALLMENT. It would be a shame to have all these neat customization ideas go to waste.

After wasting dye creating what I though would be a wine red to turn out to be a brown instead on my enchanter's dress, *yes, I even used the color mixing tool available which is usually very accurate* I can wholeheartedly support and endorse this idea.

We most definately should see how the armor would look before purchasing as well as what our dye mixes would look like.

Great idea, because you can hardly tell what the monk tattoo designs look like from the tiny icon that is provided. And dyes work differently on skin and armor. I'd like to be able to see what I am buying. It's like going to a clothing store, you usually try on item of clothing before making a purchase. It should be the case in GW too.

Would be nice if Fissure Armor was in the dressing room also, so you could mix-n-match armor for that perfect look.

I always like to combine different armors togheder and get a unique look. When you go to the armor crafter, you should have a little screen (like the one in your inventory) of yourself . And look at each and every piece of the armor and see how it fits you, and pick the right ones so you will be satisfied with your look.

I got this idea when i wanted to combine some 15k ranger armors, Im very picky about looks so it really matters to me. Its really hard to go around and look at others people armor, especially if you are new to this. SOme people dont care but some people care.

I dont see a negative side to this whatsoever, i acctualy think people are going to love it and there is going to be some really nice looking/creative combinations of armors in the future for the chapter 2.

I agree, that would be good, then also add in a dye mixer that shows all the possible dye mixes and what it takes to make them, then appraise the prices from the dye trader and put them on the armour freshly bought, and if you have some of the dyes in your inventory it will take those also.

I can't think of a single reason why this could possibly be a bad idea. The little pictures that they provide in the armorer interface are not sufficient. Being vain as I am there have been many instance where I have had to spend several more days working just to buy a replacement piece of armor to fix a poor decision. [Gladiator's pants with platemail? Why did I ever think that was a good idea??] Sure, the problem might boil down to stupidity, but I think the game should pander to "stupid" people like me.

The armour preview concept - yes.

The dye concept - Not as it is proposed i.e. a photoshop style colour swathe where you just pick the colour you want and it tells you the dyes you need. Change this to just opening up the selection of standard dyes, which you can then mix and apply to the preview to your hearts content. This doesn't take away from the game, since you still experiment to find different colours and shades (but you don't lose money doing it)

Great Idea. I buy armor based on stats, not look, because I don't want to waste craploads of gold seeing what something really looks like. I wish I could see what something looked like before I bought it.
