The new Factions chapter is really exciting me, and I can't wait for it to release. The extra two character slots are what excites me the most, cause I really want to create a Ritualist, but I don't want to delete any of my chars. But, what I really want to know is, which new faction do you perfer. My Guild, Celtate Magnus, is for the Luxons, so they're the only ones I've ever dealt with. Which one are you allied with.

My guild hasn't made up their minds yet, but I'm voting Kurzick all the way. After reading their lore I fell in love with them (very artistic, aristocratic, etc). Plus I actually like the mystique of the Kurzick setting..very gothy and old-wordly.

Can you choose Canthan as you faction of choice? I didn't see it in my hero window, so I'm assuming not. Did anyone see an area specifically devouted to Canthan in the FPE (eg. just as the Jade Sea is Luxon and the Petrified Forest is Kurzick)?
One thing I'm noticing with this thread (I started it), is that people are tending to stereotype one side or the other. Personally I'm leaning toward Kurzick, but not because I think Luxons are evil (or hippies as someone previously noted), but rather I like the atmosphere of the Kurzick areas better. I'm not religous (I believe in a god, but not in worshiping him), and I'm definetly not a Goth. Maybe after a while of playing, the Kurzick 'wow' factor will die out, and I will play Luxon for a while. Regardless, people need to take a chill pill, just relax and enjoy the game. I actually saw in the House Of ??? (Kurzick home town) people getting into heated debates over which side is 'better', which always ended in 'u nuubs dont know anything'. (and that was just the first weekend!). People need to realize that Anet designed this game so that both sides were 'balanced' (yea there might be equality issues, but give them a break, it was the first weekend, and I'm sure everything will be fixed). If you want to get into the game through role-playing and take to a side and swear by it/ against the other for whatever reason, that is totally cool, but remember that once your done playing, its only a game, and whichever side a person chooses does not really indicate his or her personality in the real life. Have fun!

Sadly, the only thing stopping me from choosing a side anymore is I like the visuals in both sides. The locales and the armor.

how does guild allegiance work? If your guids goes kurzick but you wanna go luxon, what happens?

There's almost no difference between either side, the only thing that happens is that 1 side will gain an advantage of say +10 wins for a few hours, then it bounces back to the other side
Of course it'll seem like 1 side is better if you're only 1 person
Besides all you need to do to switch sides is lower your faction

leader picked Luxon, you could still get Kurzick pts and have access to their npcs(armor/merchant.etc.)
the factions pts are account based.
the importance of allegiance would be more towards who "controls and gets access" to territory/outposts/towns/etc.
On topic: From FPE, I enjoyed both sides. Changed my mind from "going Kurzick all the way". So, I will start Luxon to see the new things (that werent included during the FPE) and still end with the Kurzick side. xD.
