Edit for the added insult.
and since they have only a few days invested they can reroll with almost no loss at all and not make the same mistake.

I actually like this system better for my Mesmer. In the old system, Mesmers can't farm nearly as fast as Monks or Warriors. Gold was never the problem, but skill points was the problem. By the time I beat the game, I barely had all my primary and secondary skills (I made sure to do all the skill quests to make sure I didn't waste any skill points). It became a pain to get a few more skills from different secondary professions so I can have different builds because I had no more skill points.

Gold is not the problem when learning skills. It is easy to get 1k gold, it is not as easy to get 15000 exp. Most players end up creating multiple characters to unlock skills because it's much easier to redo all the quests and learn skills that way.

Under the new system, skill points and experience is much easier to come by in the late game, so it's possible to get skill points quickly. By this time, you should be able to earn much more than 1k between each time you level up, and you should have max armor already.

Some people are complaining that they brought the less useful skills and do not have the gold or skill points to buy better skills. This is not a flaw of the system, but the inexperience of the player (related to the fact that there are no comprehensive guides out yet, meaning you cannot really plan ahead because you don't know what is coming up next). Under the old system, a lot of new players "screwed up" too because they brought skills that they can learn from quests, or if they buy up every skill at the traders, they cannot get that signet of capture they want for an elite that they just saw.

The old system was benefical to 55 Monks and Warriors who can farm fast. My 55 Monk can buy those increase experience for 30 second scrolls and use them right before 15-20 trolls die, giving me almost half an experience bar in less than 5 minutes. The items dropped from those guys is more than enough to buy another scroll. I was actually trying to unlock every skill in the game on my monk. My mesmer has no chance of doing that. This new system lets the non-super farming classes have a better chance to learn skills.
