I just decided to forget the CE, I changed mine to the regular

the pre-order is for thursday and friday(11:59pmPST). for other specific info on extra stuff accessible. plz refer to the "Game and Dev Tracker" and/or "Factions and Events" sections of the Forum.

Some are estimating shipping even later for the CE, even as late as 5/10/2006

And let us not forget that when something ships, it doesnt get directly placed into your hand, there is going to be another 3-4 days in some cases before you even get it, and that's if it doesn't ship on a friday, or saturday, thus throwing sunday in the loop.

Basically, I figured it out, if a character is created on the 27th.. and is going to be deleted 10 days from then, there is no way, with the first estimated shipping date, that the character will be saved. Meaning, Not only will I be left behind while the rest of the guild/players move on during the 10+ days, but I will have to start all over again.

Lovely, and all because someone couldn't line stickers up on a sheet, or fell asleep at the press.

Myself, and others, have every given right to complain. We paid 70 dollars + for this pos.. believe me, if you hadn't gotten your SE on time, you would be bitching too.

This is NCSOFTS fault, and i dont get why they delaywed it, that hasnt seemed to be part of the conversation on it at all, just everyone wanting to know whats going on as do i. I am just curious why they have to delay only the collectors edition, quite odd.

i thought that point was obvious form the very beginning, considering A-NET doesnt make the game...

yeah i went through different sites such as ebgames, gamestop and others. None has collector edition even listed on their list.

I guess, i'll get the standard one and wait till the collector is released.

Anet does make the game then hands it off to the publisher NCSoft.

2 days later, it's delayed, best guess is May 4th...

I bought the pre-order kit via BB and already have it on my account so I can play for the day advance but.... not sure when I can add the retail CE key to my account.

In the meant time will be firing up Morrowind with a bunch of user mods to pass the time.. or catch up on watching anime that I'm behind on

the only thing i have gotten from 2 different people was a CE manufacturing error (unspecified) which will delay shipment an unspecified amount of time.

I think that making the Collector's Edition a rare drop is contrary to the spirit of Guild Wars. In keeping with tradition I should just have to present Five Factions Receipts to the clerk to receive a copy.

Game.net is still telling me that itll be out 28th, is it just EBgames thats delayed?

If you are not able to register your Collector's Edition Access Key to your account prior to the end of the Head Start, you will not be able to continue accessing the Factions game content. However, the characters you created in those two extra character slots will remain for a 10-day grace period (though will be unplayable).

If you are able to register your Collector's Edition key to your account prior to the end of this grace period, you will be able to retain those two characters.

If you are not able to register your Collector's Edition key until after that grace period expires, the two character slots will no longer show on your account. Once you register your Collector's Edition key, the character slots will return, but will be blank.

Please keep in mind that you are able to "stack" a Collector's Edition Access Key on an account that already has a Standard Edition Access Key registered. You can, of course, register a Standard Edition key to your account in order to ensure continued access to the Factions game content and the extra character slots while you are waiting on the arrival of your Collector's Edition game box.

We sincerely apologize for any frustration or inconvenience this issue may have caused, and hope for the speedy receipt of your Collector's Edition game box.

why cause confusion and just pay full price get your shirt and wait for CE, go in then present the 10 buck preorder slip and exchange it. I bet it saves you and the store time.

OMG wow... Ok my response to that E-mail would have to be in a jerk manner:
"Oh, you mean the CE that I just cancelled?" GAH... Come on Anet, we deserve better than this, at least something to cheer us up, like we will be getting 99999 plat on our return if we enter a CE key... Anything...

So we are supposed to buy the regular edition until we get our CE edition lol what a bunch of BS! Guess what NCsoft you wont be getting anymore of peoples money if you keep screwing people like this, especially your loyal CE buyers.

For a company that relies on people buying future chapters, this stance is disasterous for them. They have just told people who were already paying a premium to pay twice.

Oh well it would have been a nice buisness model shame it got screwed it up with poor customer service.

EBGames and GameStop had the CE on their list, but they took it off. Guess they're completely unsure as to whether or not they'll be getting it.

CompUSA has it listed for next Friday. If so, I'm okay with that :-)

I bet there is something small, but significant, in the CE CDs. Maybe the dancing troops aren't using /dance *?

that would be server side, as all we really need is the key. The other stuff is actual phsyical stuff like soundtrack CD, mouse mat, poster, etc.

EB games, Canberra Aus is telling me they got it in stock this morning (27th Of April) but have yet to unpack it and to check back at about 3:30pm

Ok, here's my story.

I live in the Netherlands (GMT+1) and ordered my CE a long time ago, and I did get the pre-order kit a couple of weeks ago as supposed to; referring to the release date of that kit. Order made @ Free Record Shop (FRS for any further reference)

Now I checked the site for the release date of the CE and it still is set for friday the 28th, even after all the discussions and so forth going on about the global delay. So I decided to contact the customer service and spoke with an employer.

He told me they were actually expecting the CE to be delivered 'today' (which would be wednesday), yet again: even after all the delay stories, so I was a bit suprised about that actually, thought it would be delayed for sure here as well. Then the guy told me they still expect it to be delivered 'the day after' (which would be thursday). With me being only half awake, I didn't ask any further and just said something like: "Okay, thanks for your time". I had to ask further about any insurance they could give me, if any at all (probably not, but might as well ask while at it). But he still expected it on thursday so it should be send immediately and delivered at my house on friday. I'll have my fingers crossed...

What I am likely to do is the following:
Just start playing the Head Start, have some fun and at around 2 o'clock (GMT+1), they should have more info (if the FRS site's info has not been adjusted yet), so I will phone them again and ask whether it's been delivered to them or not. If so, good, I'll have it the next day (friday) as planned. If not, which is probably more likely, I will just go to the store and buy a regular edition, add it to the account and play along. When my CE arrives I will unpack all the goodies, keep them and give the access key to my brother: who has been playing for a while on my Prophecies account but wants an account for himself. And ofcourse, I'll have him repay me the Regular Edition .

So I guess I might consider myself lucky I'm in this particular position (with me being able to pass the key that comes with the CE on and have my brother pay for the RE). Only thing I have to do is to go to the store and pick the RE up...

Though I hope the customer service's guy was telling me the truth to some extend and that the CE will normally be delivered on thursday so I'll get it on time. Although I seriously doubt it, because of all of these stories (despite the fact most of you are from overseas). I still have my hopes up, but I think it's not likely to happen. But like I said above, there will not be any difference for me, despite the fact I need to pick up the RE.

PS: Anyone else from the Netherlands who can give some 'new' update? As in some news from tuesday/wednesday or something about this? Whether the purchase was @ the FRS or not?

I just noticed something --- Arenanet has pulled down the web pages for the Collectors Edition in America -- european page is still there. And compusa doesn't list the mousepad as being in the box.

I called my EB and I heard the same thing, they are unsure when they will actually get it. Initial reports were 1 week late, and apparently that's not true. I switched my order to the normal version. I can live without CE.

Some one is obviously getting a CE, I would like to know where the hell they are going because I tried to pre-order it pretty much right after pre-order box was given out and wasn't allowed to.

This is incompetence, the end.

The point is we CE buyers spend more money on product they sell, they are in business to sell product. If we loyal customers want to spend more money this company should be happy and accomodate us.
Now if im unhappy with a meal or a hotel room or merchandise the company ussually bends over backwards for customer service because im a repeat customer...not ncsoft oh its delayed indefinately ...pfft dont offer product then pull it at the last minute and say opps sorry we dont know when its going to be released (but you paid more for it lmao)
The bottem line is this company needs to step up to the plate and accomodate its customers and do something to fix this problem they have.

Not one official word on this huge problem on the guild wars website ... because they know they messed up big time and dont want to lose sales.

NCSoft/Anet cmon dont kill your track record and become just like everyother game provider/developer, if you do you can watch your sales drop faster than you can say ... guild wars whats that?

We have great news about availability of the Guild Wars Factions Collector's Edition! As you may know, some stores are reporting a shortage of the Collector's Edition. In truth, it appears that we underestimated the demand and manufactured too few copies. In order to correct this shortage, we are currently producing additional copies of the CE. These copies have an anticipated ship date of June 30th. We sincerely thank the Guild Wars community for its incredible support of Factions, and look forward to seeing you in the game soon!

I highly doubt it's suspended, but if you were not able to preorder CE, you should be thankful you will be playing Factions after the headstart rather than waiting 1, 2 or 3 weeks for CE. Thankfully my EB let me switch my order to the regular version yesterday otherwise I would have been even more angry than I already was when I found out about this big foul up with CE.
