I don't see it that way at all. Nobody is paying 20$ to get rich in-game. I mean, think about why the CE Pets were announced in the first place. We would have never even seen CE Pets had the CE not run into the production delay shitstorm that it did. The extra 20 or 30 dollars for the CE was always for the other materials. The art collection, the emotes, etc.

Some people could suggest that they could buy the CE now for the CE Pet, and therefore, would be paying 20-30 dollars extra for in-game funds, but as I understand it, the CE are basically back-ordered until June 30th, and the only people who will be getting their CEs before that time are those who have pre-ordered. And those who have pre-ordered were the ones slammed by the production delay shitstorm.

And I'd anticipate the CE Pet offer to end after a certain date, honestly.

I think people are really making a much bigger deal out of this than is necessary. I'm waiting for my CE. I'll be getting the CE Pet. I seriously doubt I'll be selling it. I'm probably going to have it walk around in the guild hall with me. And I'm probably going to keep it as a memento.

If other people want to sell theirs, that's their choice. And the reason the CE Pets are transferable is because ANet wants people to have choice here. If other people sell theirs, they're douchebags. And they're especially douchebags if they price-gouge. And if they price-gouge, they're lame anyway and then I don't think they really deserve as much power as we're giving them.

Well, it looks like you have to activate your CE before May 31st to get the pet, which would mean only the first wave of CE people would get it...

CE is a limited pre-order edition, you can't resell items like factions items which are unlimitedly supplied. The price of CE pet will continue to increase like flame splitter but not decrease.

This is true enough, but I think given the unexpected demand for the pre-orders, there are probably going to be a lot more ppl with these pets than we think. Eventually it's going to get old, or everyone will get the dragon, or the next latest and greatest thing will come along and ppl won't mind selling it for less. As to the May 31st deadline someone mentioned, that wasn't mentioned at all in ANet's official PR. I think someone quoted the PR and altered it to screw with ppl.

I think this dragon is so freakishly adorable. My GWF CE arrives tomorrow finally from Gamestop Online, I was frustrated, and worried I woudlnt' get mine in the first batch of CE's but I'm glad now, that dragon is SO CUTE! Ok sorry I'm on a rant here... I feel for those who couldn't wait, it's a bit like a slap in the face I guess, but these little guys are tradeable thankfully enough. There may be those who dont' want their dragon, you never know.

The fact is we all bought our CE *before* we knew we were getting a special item with it. We didnt buy gw gold for 20$. And even if you look at it like that, I would rather buy gold from anet then from ebay and chinese farmers.

I was one of those that didn't wait and the 'slap in the face' was enough to make me change my mind. Thankfully, I wasn't able to cancel my CE since EB was already processing the order and I was also lucky enough to be able to return my SE without any issues. All has worked out in the end it seems.

Since Gaile Gray is on, just need something cleared up.

How do we "get" the speical CE pet. Is it placed into the inventory of the first person you log into? Do you use a /getpet command or something?

Or do all characters get one?

Is CE THAT much more expensive in the US? Some say about $30 more =\?
Over here in Australia, normal edition is $89.95, collectors is $99.95 =P.

I was originally going to get normal retail version but changed my mind, when I got to EB Games they had CE but all were reserved so I was dissapointed.

It turns out that one of the guys there had screwed up my pre-order and placed one down for CE instead ^__^. Mix ups ftw.

I don't think it's in the game yet? I got my pre-ordered CE on release day and no thank you gift yet.

Presumably these pets can only be shown outside of towns? Can they be killed by other beasties? If so can you just reopen the gift item and get another one?

Once Mini-Kuunie is implemented (that is, added to the code), then the next time you log in, you'll have the wee beastie in your inventory. (I imagine we'll have an update note to say "Added Collector's Edition Thank You Gift" or somesuch thing.

Like a birthday gift, you simply double-click to display it in any Explorable Area. You can move the miniature from character to character using your Xunlai storage.

Imo it was a good solution; think about it, they had angry masses who preordered CE's, they add a little gift, they make them all happy! Perfect business solution, all those who were threatening to cancel their CE's and decrease Anet's revenue are now pleased.

As for those who say it's unfair, guess what? It's not. I paid more than you did for my CE, and I had to wait a week later than to play the game, I deserve a little something extra in return.

TY Anet, and I can't wait to get my CE, which should be tomorrow according to EB Games

ps. plz don't customize it. I'd never sell mine, but it would just lose it's value if it became a customized plain old blue item, like the preorder weapons.

Sonova crap! That's some super-sweet news. I only got my CE last night, I went down to EB to tell them to "stick my order for CE and just give me a regular edition", but lo-and-behold they had it there waiting for me.

Now I'm getting paranoid, I've had so much good luck the past 2 days I just know somthing really really bad must be about to happen.

I think its a great idea! Upset people are happy. What couldnt be better than that. So what if they sell them...its their choice. You can sell ur minipets, so why not this one. I just started playing gw a couple months ago...then the minis came out. My girlfriend wanted one so bad. I went and farmed and farmed and farmed till could offord one. So what...whoa its so much money, someones rich...I earned my damn money and bought what i wanted. If someone wants to buy it then they should be allowed to. Why not? The people who sell are only rich if they can find a buyer. And that buyer wants a dragon! No one is gonna sell one for uber cheap...so the buyer cant turn around and make millions off of it. In that case then the person who is purchasing the dragon WANTS it. Why not let them buy it? Sounds to me that people who are against this are just jealous that they dont have a dragon...or the opportunity to make money. Other wise why is it even an issue. the people who are gonna sell for a lot of money can only do so if their is someone who is willing to pay. By not allowing them to sell it your taking away from people who cant afford to go and buy a CE...those who are willing to farm and farm and sell and sell until they can get a dragon with ingame money...No loss to the purchaser financially...and they got a mini pet that they wanted. You have to seriously want that dragon desperately to pay that much gold for it...and in paying that much gold for it there really isnt much market to resell it. So profit is truly only made once and therefore the person who wants it really really badly will have it, and wont have "much" chance to resell for profit.

I SAY LET THE PEOPLE WHO WANT TO BUY IT BUY IT FOR GW GOLD!!! WHAT TRUE MARKET IS THERE FOR RESALE VALUE ANYWAYS...THEY PAID A MILLION N SOME JUST TO GET IT...HOW ARE THEY GOING TO MAKE A PROFIT? The economy always bounces when something new enters the game. there's nothing new with this. The craze settle down just like it does with every other new hot item that gets put in the game. And the only way this would affect you is if:
1. you're getting CE and you're planning on selling it.
2. you dont have CE and you're planning on buying it.

if you dont fit under any of those catagories, then there's nothing for you to worry about. it's not gonna change anything else in the game very much at all, and it'll disappear just as fast as it comes.
now, on the other hand if you do fit under one of those, then it's your decision to be affected by this, and you shouldnt be blaming on anyone else but yourself.

I will be getting a dragon mini, and the only thing its gonna change in my game is the fact that I will have a cool new collectors pet.

If it's jealousy that drives your argument, then theres nothing left to argue.

Is there an expiration date? If I buy the CE in July, will I still get the dragon?

As for selling the money for Gold: so? Really, so what?

This Dragon does NOTHING, so the person getting the dragon gets nothing.

The person who now has a zillion gold: woopee. Now they can buy all the FoW armor they want, which again, has NO EFFECT on the game!

That said, why do I want a dragon? Because it looks pretty sweet. I've almost convinced myself the CE is worth another $70....

"If E is A, then X is A" is true.
"If X is not A, then N is A" is false.

It doesn't matter whether you will sell the minidragon. It matters that you and every other CE owner can, and at least one will.
