Once you ran to all the places, everyone should die, (if you’re in a party) and spawn at the res spot. That should take you right next to Scoutmaster Arne unless you got too close to the other spawn location.(Note: Other spawn loactions the bridge, don’t get near it) Get the quest from him and accept the 2k EXP, 400 faction, and 150 gold.

The 150 g keeps on stacking (And if you trade in amber you get more cash)

it's easy to make money in this game. i spent about 2 weeks farming tengu in riverside province up until it got nerfed. in them days a sup vig got you about 80k and monks sups got about 70k. in one day 3 runes got me over 200k. i would say i made several million in those 2 weeks.

even just vermin farming for a few hours the other night i made 30k. thanks to 2 black dye drops.

i was online when the market crashed a long time ago. i bought velum and damask and steel ingots and other rare materials and also about 30 sup runes. i spent about 500k at the merchant and rune trader in a short space of time. i can't even guess how much profit i made off that but i would guess at about 25 mill.

buying and selling weapons is my thing now. i buy high req weapons with good mods for cheap, salvage the mods and sell them on for a profit. i bough an axe for 1k and salvaged a 20/20 sundering. 27k profit.

Anyone can make gold its a online game you create a character you kill things they drop gold or items, rinse repeat.

Just depends how obsessed you are btw i made over a million but it got so boring the only motivation was to see how many ectos could collect.

The pre view event i have had more fun with this game than i ever did farming. It reminded me the first time i played prophercies enjoying the game for what it is a bit of fun.

I played about 1,500 hours and im not rly suprised ppl have so much money... its vry easy to farm it all.. i farmed up to about 1000k in approx 2 months if not less.. spent 500k on my guild about 150k on my warriors armor (sup vigor + super absorp wen it was 40k)... i had just goten into farming and basicaly it was all i done.. just save up i dont agree with ebaying money and i do sumtimes get nice drops which speeds up the process vry much.. my best drop sold for 100k + ( 2 perfect drops @ that price ) and a sword sundering @ 90k wen they wer still selling at 100k

To the opp: I have been playing for about nine months now. with a total hours at about 1700.

At this moment i have full fissure armor for my monk. and am a few ecto and shards away from getting fissure armor for my warrior.

To be honest with you i am always really puzzled when people say that they have only made like 60k or less in 12 or some odd months playing this game.. because you know for a fact they are lying. or only pvp players ( witch is not a bad thing in the least)

I myself have never even thought of ebay.. because if you fellas remember the good old contra days.. it stoped being a fun game to play when you had all the lives you needed.. for me its the same concept here.

But in playing this game within the first month i had over 20k

I did not farm in the slightest.

I just did missions and got some rune drops that had been worth money. mostly shiver peak missions and stuff.

Now back to me calling anyone who says they have never earned more than 60k or so in their entire carrier of playing this game.

They literally would have to get all collectors armor and weapons and throw every drop they got into the trash. in order to achieve this. and even then they would acumulate 60k in just coin drops in an 8 man party through the missions.

So maybee they have never had 60k at any one given point in time.. but i assure you that they have had much more "upwards of 1mill" in coins flow through their hands withought even realizing it.

and if you like you can search my name on here. you will find a few items that i have purchased at the asking price of the seller (even though it was insanly low) and made some quick cash.

Like for instance i purchased a req 8 (i think) 14^50 max brute sword. i had purchased it for i think 15k or less

i then turned around and sold it for a little over 80k

I also farm uw with a duo partner. it is one of my favorite things to do in this game. and i can waste pretty much a whole night there if i really wanted to. all and all on a good night i can net about 6 ecto or more.

and whats 6x6? thats right its........ 36( i think )

so thats a quick 36k in one night.. and that is not even counting the drops you get that sell to the merchant for like 40 gold apeice.. 40x20= some cool number upwards of 1k ..

so all and all yes i am a millionare in this game. actually im prolly a multi millionare.. but in my storage in pure coin all i have is 40k

Chars buy low sell high .. they can make big money
Time played and areas farmed ... they can make big money

Time, Patience, a watchfull eye, a little business acumen ... its not hard to make money IF thats what you want to do.

Something that doesnt get mentioned, is ONE of the ways you can tell how much money IS being injected into the GW economy via e-bay. Reading the feedback for these sellers.... and in some cases these sellers have 1000's!!!! of +feedbacks.

OK so maybe they dont just sell GW gold I dont know but it does help get ya head round just how many buy gold this way.

This is my personal experince in guildwars money making from the start which started in 02-15-06.

Started off dirt poor stuck in the presearing thinking to myself, i know nothing about this game. Let me search the internet found gameamp.com, then found this website. After reading about the game first, then i started to play better.

Made a Warrior since most of the runners were all warriors, made around 200k in around the first month of playing the missions and running people to the easy spots.

Then i got to droks and noticed all the people selling parchment. So i went online and read what made parchment. Bought all the wood i could get my hands on, made parchment and made around 150k during the first week of doing that.

After that i took my warrior and starting farming the trolls outside droks to get more wood to make parchment. After getting a fellblade or 2 as drops, i asked around what are these worth. sold the first one for 50k and the second for 30k. Then a light switch went off in my head. People love gold items, where can i get gold items???

Then i started to chest run ice floe, and other shiverpeak chests, because people in town were selling the keys cheap (thanks bot farmers) After getting a couple of good sword mods and axe mods i made around 500k total in my first 2 months after spending it on 15k armor and what not.

Then this new game called Factions was coming out. I bought it the first day it came out. Then i thought to myself.... gee what would make me alot of money here... materials for the new armors that people wanted. So i jumped to all the missions spots in the desert and ring of fire area, saying WTB tanned hides, and cloth will buy all you have pm offer.

After buying a ton of tanned hides and cloth for around 12g each , i went to droks and sold them for around 26-27g each making around another 200k in 3 days of doing that.

Then after making cash there in propchies, travel to the new land of canthna and noticed that rune trader was out of all the runes for the new classes. Also there was like 8-12 people just standing at the trader selling runes for riduclous prices. Then i thought to myself... hmmm how are they getting those runes??

After standing at the trader and clicking it over and over really fast i noticed that when it flashed, something new was added (i.e. new rit or sin rune that was privosly sold out) bought a sup dagger rune for like 4k and sold it for 40k to the guy saying WTB sup dagger 40k So i called it rune snipping and did that for 2 weeks making around 400k doing that.

After getting bored with money did more missions in factions untill i got to the kurzick side where i opened a chest and this gothic axe dropped. I was a req 9 15^50 and i thought it looked so cool. still have that axe to this day.

This new axe was so appealing and since no one was selling it, i firgure i could get a ton of money for it. That began the chest running era of my guildwars life. I heard that people that owned kurzick towns got keys for cheap, so i joined LUST back in the day. Then after buying some keys and looking for some spots to run i found melandurs hope.

If you run the 4 spots and each one of your party got the spots and died you got money, faction, xp, and chests along the way. Taught this to my guild and was born the FFing era of faction farming Melandurs hope.

So FFing there and chesting at the same time got a ton of gold drops while getting some xp and faction towards my guild holding house zu heltzer. Once i got my first gothic dual axe rq 8 15^50 i about crapped my pants. I got a price check at 100k +65 ectos for it. Hmmmm with all these good items here i can make a ton of cash....

So i started chest running everything, raisu palace, melandurs hope, napiu for all those lovely gold items that people were paying a ton for.

After 3 months of chest running i now have 1.2 million in storage. 250 of each material, except 167 ob shards, 35 rubies, 65 sapphires, 22 monster claws, 22 D Steel, and 2 monster fangs. Have made around 8-9 million chest running, and spent over 3.5 million on keys. The saying is true it takes money to make money.



So after all that i have done to make money, i never farmed the elite missions, never did underworld 55hp monk farming, never did tombs. Just pure smarts with the market and what is hot. Getting those things to people when they want them ( parchment, runes, gold items ). The key is to go where the money is. If a sephis axe is going for over 100 ectos find where to get one. If a rune is selling for 40k find out where to get it. No one is more lucky then the next guy. They have the same chance of getting something just as you do. Some are just smarter then others :P

And on the last note here are some predictions of what is going to make money in the near future.

1. Dervish and Paragon runes
2. Dervish and Paragon materials (tanned hides, iron, and other rare materials)
3. New greens in Nightfall will demand a high price.
4. Gold spears and scthyes with energy and 15^50 low req items
5. So in detail anything having to do with Nightfall right now will earn you a ton of cash, so stock pile up those materials, get ready to run those chests in nightfall, and stay close to the rune trader to buy those new runes.

I think this is a trader reset... in Kainenge Center once, the rare material trader was selling ectos for 500 gold and buying for 20k... unfortunatly by the time I got to the trader, it was too late.

Theres tons of ways to make money quickly...buying and selling black dye is the easiest to do...find anyone selling it for under 9k...ive found most people asking 9 will take 7.5-8k...buy as many as you can for that price...I usually stock up with 5...5x8=40k...so you spend 40k

Spam sell for 9k...youll sell them quickly in LA...hit up Ascalon...thats a quick 5k in profit once you sell what you bought...re-invest in more...and repeat...takes time but when you can push 20-50black dyes a day...you're making good change...

same with mini pets. well it used to be..

in a day i once bought a burning titan for 10k and sold it for 60

and a troll for 10k and sold it for 20

and a necrid that i ended up keeping for a week for 5k and then later sold for 20k


mini pets can net a huge profit if you play people and your cards right.

a quick way to make lots of money without worrying about the value of weapons is just material trading.

buy low (5-7g each for materials) and selling high (10g-15g) and those are just common crafting materials.

rare materials are even better, find out how to make the ones people want (parchment in droks for '55' armor) and sell that, its a steady market, up and down at times. just play it smart, anything over 100k in storage is a good amount, and eventually you will have more and more money aslong as you spend it wisely.

in the first weeks of guildwars ectos were selling for 800g..i wish i could go back to that time..i remember selling my first stormbow white 14-26 for 33k the good old times

How to become a millionaire:
- Don't be lazy. Pick everything up you can, make use of salvaging, sell crappy golds to people in Ascalon. Also, test your valuable golds before identifying, and consider selling them unidentified.
- Find an exploit, and exploit it like noone has ever exploited and exploit. Tthis will require alot of luck though... It worked for me, and it might work for you.
- Farm. The Underworld, Fissure of Woe, green farming (especially Sunreach ), the simple stuff (Trolls, Minotaurs etc.).
- Run people. As far as I know, Monk runs are most profitable. Short runs in the Southern Shiverpeaks fetch you alot of gold, and the demand is very decent. Ranger, Assassins and Warriors are also great at running though
- Buy high, sell low. Will require alot of knowledge of the current pricing, and you will have to have patients to stand in town for hundreds of hours.
- Be creative. Lately I've been seeing nice ideas to make money popping up everywhere. If you're the first, you're going to make alot of profit (untill people copy your idea, of course).

The best way i have found to make money that has gotten me over 3m+ in the total time i have played GW (Witch is 2000+ hours) is to just help people...and pick up your drops. You will sometimes get that rare gold you been looking for or a random gold that sells for alot and make sure to take keys with you as well, since most of the time i have always ran across chests.

100 ectos should take a 'dedicated' ecto farmer doing say 10-15 runs a week(easy), would take mebbe 4-6 weeks to farm this many. thats the better part of a million gold right there, even not counting all the other stuff/loot you'd get. I know from firsthand experience also back from doing deep runs that after 2 runs, say roughly 4 hours, I'd get roughly 20k-250k depending on drops, 20k being VERY unlucky. 250k was back when kanaxai's edge/axe was worth a little more but still...

(I can sit here and make a huge list of ways to make money but I'll assume everyone has a brain.)

Never once used ebay which kinda contradicts the OP's belief that rich, experienced GW players all use ebay.

I have yet to make a millon gold, but these players are right, if there is a will then it will pay. I farm once or twice a week, for less then an hour each time, I don't farm the high yield places, and I am a free spender, in my life time with GW, I am sure I have earned well over 1 million plus in gold, my current standing is around 600K, I have many perfect golds, but I tend to only sell them for 5K to 15K dependant on skins and mods.

It's the stupid players who drive up prices, the ones who buy gold off ebay, or got lucky and found a bug, or created one that gave them high gold yields, that ruin it for the rest, by feeding the fire and just spending gold like it's nothing. Yes players are always going to take advantage of anothers stupidty, I don't blame them, but it is here to stay, so farm your gold and spend it as you see fit.

I wouldn't say exploit. Exploit is like saying your doing something using bugged skills or bugged AI (like the old Koosun/Kai).

Farming bosses that have high priced items and can be regularly farmed is the best method if you'd rather farm than stand in towns power selling. In the space of 3 days i made around 300k from Kaolin Staves purely because i was 1 of the first to realise the builds potential when it was posted (although when i came to post of the findings it was already out). Since the prices are still high... i could easily make a million from this 1 area given a couple of weeks (and a decent lag free connection... ).

Its not like i farm all the time im online, i help out guildies too etc, progress other chars. But at least its more enjoyable than the really boring ones who chest run the same area 24/7 just to get a Sephis Axe... then never actually do anything with the 100s of ectos they got.

Step one in making money, stop spending your time complaining about those who have more than you do and more time doing something about it.

My method of money making is slow, but steady. I farm minos every night for about 30 minutes. I started a totally new character about 3 weeks ago who now has 15k Canthan armor and 50k straight gold atm. Not rich, but well off.

Finding the occasional green helps too...

it's true that many people do buy money off of ebay because it is quick and you get a lot of gold for a low dollar price. so you can be broke one second and have 1,000k the next second to buy whatever you want, like FoW armor or mini bone dragons.

with me, every farm i do is with my monk. my monk is everything for my factions and prophecies farms. not to mention, like everyone else has been commenting on, soloing the UW can get you very nice profits...
another thing you might want to do is constantly try new builds to farm different bosses. Many of the hard to farm bosses' greens are high in price.

Apparently someone got caught Ebaying many millions and only got a temp ban.

It really doesn't matter how much money other people have. The things people buy are mostly for status symbols.

Money is so easy to come by in this game now thanks to the constant influx of it without it being sunk back into the system. How much money did people manage to earn over the preview weekend without any access to their storage? That was all new money that would have been added to the system if storage was around.

What you need to do is take advantage of the market and sell the good drops you get to others for major cash. sure, you may want to use it but if you're worried about your cash flow then selling it will do you far better because you can get a comparable piece with only a little effort. Once you start selling the good stuff you find you will suddenly be drowning in money especially if you aren't turning around to buy stuff for your character(s).

One of the best times to capatalize on making money is whenever A.net introduces new content. Remember when Tombs became a PvE area and how much the greens from there were selling for when it first came out? everyone had an equal chance to get the items but people will pay big cash to be one of the "first" to have it. look for chances like that and cash in, you'll be rich before you know it.

The problem is Anet can't really inforce this, because of the private policy from ebay.

It's not hard , think about it . You can make a million in 3 weeks if you wanted at the rate of farming 7-8 ecto a night . You just need to be dedicated , other than that theres chances of a lucky drop , you can run the shiverpeaks tour (60k average for a 35-40 min run) . Farming greens for example the Scar Eater , takes what? A minute and 30 seconds to farm him and it sells for about 20k-25k not as much as it used to but yeah , stuff to do if you do not have favor.

Although I never held the million(s) in my own hands... I am sure i accumulated them over the many months that I have played. Most of it went straight towards the characters: skills, items, armor. I never held more than 200-300k at once mostly for the reasons that there was always been something I could spend it on. O_o
Most of the time I have between 5 and 40k at hand; easy come - easy go: and if I need a larger sum for something I just save up while dedicating part of my time towards that goal. Like many others mentioned, if you are not stupid and are not afraid to put some effort into things, then you can get rich pretty fast. Just play efficently and it will work out...
Having money and nothing to spend it on is (imo) pointless.
I feel rich because I have a great guild, great friends and a pretty decent understanding of the whole game. That's nothing money can buy you.

It is mainly a combo of when you started and if/how you farm. I started 16 months ago...when I started say Ettin farming for example, a sup absorbtion rune was selling for 100k at the trader...for the newer ppl, Sup Absorbtion went at trader 100k solid for MONTHS. Hence just one ettin run I cleared 117k as my best ettin run. So yeah, as a person who has played for a long time with many chars over 2200+ hrs, I have well over a mil, and fow etc....but so what? I have guildies who have trouble affording droks/kaineng armor who are VERY good players. They either don't have time to farm or haven't been playing as long or are more into storyline PVE (one guy has 3 chars with BOTH protector titles and has under 10k in his acct) In my guild we give each other money/items freely, all the time, and HELP. I have NEVER bought ebay gold, I HATE all the asian gold farmers (you buy you buy?) and would never support that industry. Its just knowing how/where/when/what to farm, stuff to "invest" in etc.

Thing to remember ppl...IT IS GAME GOLD YOU CAN ~ONLY~ USE IT TO BUY GAME STUFF! Why not be generous to guildies and have FUN?

I've been playing about 6 months. I have about a million. I was about 1.2 million, but I just bought a bunch of skills. I made most of it from selling amulets when they were 50k, and farming jade / amber from repeatable quests. I only had about 100k when Factions came out. I don't farm the UW / FoW, but I think I will start. I've been working on titles recently and haven't been too concerned with farming.
