9 Waves to defend against
Rift are close to where you start the mission, 4 of them, can't be closed, everything happens in the town itself. You start near the NPCs.
BTW, we got a message saying the Emperor comes in 15 minutes.

I dont think there are any spirit rifts on U map, anyway heres my tiny necro soloing it for you. I actually managed to kill the first waves with some help of some boney thingys.

BTW, in each district he appears to show up at different times... District 19 was very fast. Newer districts are latest.. so I am now collecting my 6th and last mask... ^^
You DONT have to speak to the emperor, as long as you are HOLDING 250 orbs and are in the district that he is speaking at that time, you will get your mask. As soon as he says the sentence about the: those of you who collected 250 orbs... then your 250 orbs will be replaced by a mask.

When the emperor arrives, sorcerers appear all around the Monastery while he slowly walks down the stairs from the courtyard. He heads for that strange Obelisk near the Storage and states some words about Canthan history. During this speech, he also mentions the 250 Jadeorbs and gives you the mask automatically. If you've not been there during this speech, you will have to either wait for another appearance or the promised NPCs.
Shortly after he ends his speech, the monastery is invaded by a "Fury", the minions of a shadow attack and Celestial Charges appear all around the monastery at fixed spawns. Some sort of minigame starts where you have to collect celestial charges and bring them to one of the many sorcerers. While the Grasp of Insanity creatures hunt you down. If they touch you, you die and they get a point.
After you've won the minigame, the emperor speaks some more words about the great empire and then starts throwing Gifts left and right (the ones you can also buy from Kao Tseng [Festival Prizes].

78- My mesmer with a dyed purple dragon mask. Presents rain from the skies, 1 landed next to her feet. These are the same as presents you get from tickets i think. I only found 9 presents, but in 3 of them was a sum of 1000 gold. The others were 2x 5orbs, 3 rice wine, 1 red bean cake.
80- My warrior with an undyed mask, next to cute monk with dyed mask.

There are also Grasps running around and killing everyon holding the Lights. Much like the Christmas packages/grentches. AND WATCH THE RADAR AGAIN! When you see a green dot running around, that is a grasp, which WILL go after you as long as you hold a Light. So what do you do when he is close? Yes, you drop the Light and pick it up again when he is gone. The Lights always spawn at the same locations, so just keep running back an fro to the sorcerer on a run you can make easily.
The reward: as said in the screenshots, we get some fireworks, presents and the Fury retreating.... doubt it will be the last we see of him.
I wonder what happens if we loose...

Silver+silver+silver is still just silver. Adding blue to it makes it the same as silver+blue.

Anyway, what is the special reward we get for the new mini-missions? Or is everybody 2 busy eating Red Bean Cakes and drinking Rice Wine?
I also wonder if the staff the Fury is holding is a nice green that we can acquire at the end of the festival... He's only lvl 30 so should be a piece of... Red Bean Cake. :P

Well I never heard that the order mattered to mixing colors, so I dont remember the order anymore. I thought only the ingredients mattered. I think I have never gotten any wrong colored armor before, although I mixed the mix-order a couple of times. But if I am wrong about this, I guess the information I have given above I more or less useless.
Still I cant see how to mix Silver with Silver. Also, If you mix Something and keep adding Silver to it, it will still change mix-color. Therefor I guess adding Silver to Mix-with-Silver will still have a effect, namely shift the balance further to the lighter colors. And it is impossible to add the blue at the end.

Storywise,the Lich was sealed into the very bloodstone that was needed to be broken to open the door of Komalie(sp?),also,it is suggested in the story that the Fire Islands thus sunk after the Sealing of the Bloodstone caused an incredibly huge eruption that sent the island to the bottom of the ocean.

Those quests are a lot harder then people thought. Good twist by ANet. Gives people a challenge. Everyone can beat all the missions now pretty easily since we know how to beat them. These bring a new exciting challenge. Great idea by ANet. Only problem is they might be a little too hard.

Rather funny tidbit: all the traders are out of Red Dye, so I guess that's going to be the popular color for the mask.
