How to nerf a touch ranger.
LordLucifer
#3(hammer war) easy to beat....
#4 no chance for the sin
#5=#6...the degen is what really counts..
im sry but i dont think you know how many builds there are in GW...even if those you mentioned were all corect there are still lots more
and to the builds that are not listed, they have 0% chance to win against the toucher, even if its a 4 years old behind the screen just pressing the buttons, if thats not an overpowered build i have no idea what is
as mentioned in another post you do realise that when you make som1 run around in circles cause your a toucher you "take them out of the fight" so its not like they are really winning right?
D/Mos are really powerful, BUT they require skill, no 4yo can play them and win like they are doing right now, and there are very few builds who wouldnt stand the slightest chance to win, so, powerful? hell yah, overpowered? no way

Oh forgive me for not writing an essay detailing every single build that has ever existed and its potential to defeating a touch ranger.... moron. If you want to list them all be my guest. No chance for the assassin? AoD, the usual combo, remove AoD and run and wait for it to degen.
When these 4 year olds start playing a touch ranger in RA and kicking your arse, tell me and i'll be there to laugh. When you lose i'll expect your response in all chat to be something similar to the level of a 4 year old too.
And no a D/Mo doesn't require skill. It requires you to run upto enemies, spam enchantments, cast CoP attack a bit, rinse and repeat. I'm sure a 4 year old could master having to maybe 5 buttons instead of 1, 2 and OoB.
I fail to see how people continue going on about how 'kiting' takes them out of the fight. Unless your an ele who for some moronic reason decided to go Fire Ele in RA/TA you won't be standing still long to cast. As detailed elsewhere you should be constantly moving... not waiting for that monk to cast so you can interrupt it, not waiting for something to recharge. MOVING until you need to attack.

Wow,the touch ranger debate is still going strong I see....
IMO, they're not such a big deal, and their useage seems to be slowing down, like it's been said loads of times now, learn to avoid and counter, they're not as difficult and powerful as people make them out to be.

nah, not really, you didnt post all others because there isnt a thing they can do abt touchers, abt assasssins, read what sir mad just posted

Touch generally have a 16 secs Throw Dirt and 16 secs = 1040 damage for a touch bot...
no more comments..lol (but lets not forget plague touch and the factor, OTHER ppl in PvP, unless you are saying a whole team should be paying attention only to the touchers to make sure every1 is FAR away from him? lol..) i fought D/Mos like that, 1: you can win regardless of your build, its hard but at least possible and 2: it does require skills to do that, its not just (1, 2, 1 ,2, 1,2 offering, 1, 2, 1, 2..) uhh if you can fight just well while running from a toucher i congratulate you, must have 1/4 spell casts and a +50% speed bonus all the time now ill let you take your pills to calm down again XD SnipiousMax
^ So your entire arguement rests on one uncovered condition with a monstrous recharge?
LordLucifer
nop, thats against non casters (xept cripshot)
as for casters, they gotta run and stop fighting or take high DPS (while keeping toucher alive..) SnipiousMax
^My mistake.
So your entire arguement rests on one uncovered condition applied with a skill with a monstrous recharge time, and the fact that casters have to move in PvP? LordLucifer
yes, that means non casters are useless against them and most casters have no choice but run and be useless in combat by the simple sight of them
put that with a decent DPS and monstruous constant self healing and you got something overpowered for sure Evilsod
I think you need to watch some High-end GvG. If you haven't noticed the casters are ALWAYS moving.

For a start with the lag this weekend that damage was at least halved. Also the recharge is 3 seconds. So perfectly its a touch every 1.5seconds... so 10.6 touches in 16 seconds, not including stops for OoB. Which makes just under 700 damage. | Not to mention i said this 'Can beat any idiot who stands in front of it'. Someone taking 700 damage from a toucher IS an idiot standing in front of it. I'm not quite sure what your arguement is. Non-casters are useless against them? Non-casters are useless against ANY anti-non-caster. What are you gonna do? Nerf the crippling anguish mesmer for been able to completely own 1 melee range foe.. A Cripshotter can completely own every single melee range foe out there without the need for selfhealing purely because they can't get close enough to hit. LordLucifer
cripshot can own melee but the majority of other ranged builds/classes can at least fight them
same with crippling anguish mesmers all in all almost all builds can be beaten by someone else if they commit a simple mistake, the ones that cant by certain builds require lots of timing and skills, while touchers dont, and they still can beat most ppl out there or at least cause some HEAVY preasure on the whole enemy team just because...hes R/N (sometimes preasure alone is worth your presence in..high end PvP) curtman
Luxons had their 8 person touch squad playing a couple of times tonight.... Sad part is I had a decent antitouch build.
I must admit, I found it hilarious when the touch noobs were whining about the D during preview. W armor got its nerf, now Anet, stick the touch skills into soul reaping. Evilsod
Yeah because soul reapings all about stealing health from living targets...
Lucifer... why in gods name would someone run a Touch Ranger for pressure over an INTERRUPT ranger or a CHOKING GAS ranger? evox the evil
curtman they steal life i can see how that has to do with the reaping of souls but blood and vampiric kinda go together a little. and here's a thought for beating a touch ranger:wild blow, plauge touch, grenths balance gg or blackout and run
some guy
ways of the fox+shroud of silence (e) dead touchy
