you have serious issues dude. do us all a favor and leave
didnt he say he was gonna leave like 10 posts ago? I think you are correct about the issues thing. I think he is one of those people that bash henchies cuz they dont understand how they work. Or one of those people that thinks they have a mind of their own and run off to attack mobs when he doesnt realize that either he clicked on the mob or he ran too close to it and they aggroed it.

LOL well said!!!

To be honest playing as Ranger/Necro I have resorted to healing myself to relieve the burden of having to be healed when I shouldnt even be in a melee situation.

Absolutely true. Being at least part monk will help tremendously in the ascension missions (and most others).

Oh, and for the record: I did all three ascension missions with henchmen, and I was then NOT a monk, even a secondary one, so it is possible. It's just a heck of a lot easier if you're a monk.

As a monk character, it's really nice when people who -do- have monk as a secondary class, or who do have some sort of "heal self" thingy, take along a healing spell (signet, ungent, breeze or orizon for instance) for themselves. It does relieve the burden. This is especially important if there's only one monk in the party (particularly in later missions). I know that I appreciate it a lot!

I know two awesome monks in the ascension missions that would love to help you out. Their names are Alesia and Lina. Whisper them sometime.

Honestly, they're better than half the monks out there.

*sniffs* I'm hurt.

But, it's true. I have found Lina, in particular, VERY useful on any mission I've taken her on. Alesia just needs....to stop tanking.

It's entirely probable you belong in the other 50%. See how nice I am?

I've found that, actually, if you don't move, neither will Alesia or Lina. If you move, they tend to rush the enemy.
