Lol, it is about time superior runes had some worth. And the 30K that has to be spent on start up start up is really nothing with this game's economy.
And please stop complaining about it get "nerfed," UW has sucked for quite some time now (for farming purposes) which is what led to this build seemingly becoming popular. If more that 1 ecto dropped every 3 rounds, I might want to continue with my original 5 man group.

How can you nerf a Monk/Warrior? build it is no premade?

I replaced blessed signet with orison of healing and zealots with symbal of wrath... and they still do it and I always die by it, first time I did UW I got passed them and cleared out the entire smite area with no problems, I wish I can do that again but its so frustrating I've wasted 8K dying by those grasping darnesses...

Symbol of Wrath is too slow - Ataxes, Grasping Darkness, and Coldfires all interrupt. You will never get a symbol off in time. imho divine boon isn't worth the extra expense.. at least for my style of play.. it costs 5 energy + 2 energy if you already have it on. it is appropriate in some situations where its casting time comes into play.. i've also found blessed signet isn't necessary with bonettis equipped

The grasping are very annoying indeed. Once dazed, you are most probably dead. You might try to run away until daze is gone. Never tried that.

I took the time to create a small video. The quality is pretty low for keeping the file small and it is not cut professionaly (too lazy to do). But you should be able to get the idea on how I use to fight four monster types down there after the great information I read here like 4 days ago.
Btw: my skill timing in the video is sometimes not very good because of the lag the video cap program created.

i have a lvl12 Mo/Me at mo in desert....would be lvl20 in droknars if anyone took me into a decent team
after watching the video i believe that when i get the chance i will change from mesmer to warrior and try this build out in lower lvled areas first (like on etties)
from reading this it has come aware to me that you you can't use this build on selfhealers, mesmers and necros....is this true
PS i know the song in the video is Disturbed......but what song? is it Prayer?

they didnt nerf the globs as much as i thought, right when america got favor tonight i jumped into uw, and picked up 3 globs in the first run, and 1 on the 2nd run, and on my second run i died because of lag when my virus scan kicked in so i didnt even make it to the smites -_-

i've swapped blessed signet for healing hands and i'm having a much better time vs the darknesses (i can survive dazed)

This build should not be nerf, because this game is all about using the right type of skills for right type of misson or fight.. so someone found it and that's great.. There must good build for every class which can survive long but havent found yet.. So i say this build should stay as it is... And we have to find same type of build for other classess...

It is not a premade so how can they nerf it anyone can make this build up as it is a PVE build only PVP build can be nerfed.I use balance stance instead of bonettis as I can still use a skill overall I like this build if it where mins I would put some points in in axe or sword and use no 4 or less of those.

Its a great build for this specific purpose only. I hoped it was finally a way to play the game real solo lol, but groups of dispellers/life drainers/energy stealers make this impossible. Feeling much like building a Magic the Gathering destruction deck to find out almost every opponent plays blue lol!

theres a -50 focus item from pre-searing
my current project is to come up w/ a FOW run from spawn to the tent by the eternal guys/skeletons... (inside that tent you are immune to ranged attacks) so the interrupts from rangers wouldn't matter..

I hate to be a wet blanket, but this could be "nerfed" now as others have said. It's not that ArenaNet didn't see the possiblities protective bond gives in pve, it's that now everyone and their mother will do this because it has been handed to them on a silver platter.

Yeah, you're probably right but to be quite blunt, it's not a walk in the park even with the information in this thread. The guy I know who does this all the time says he even dies every now and then. It might be nerfed in any number of ways but finding things like this out is what the game is all about for people like me. Even if they are going to change it later, I'm still going to use it until then and when they nerf that, I'll think up an even crazier scheme.

They can't really do much more than that without ruining the spell and they can't add disenchant abilities to underworld creatures because underworld is Balthazar's domain and he favours warriors, hence why all the major enemies down there are pure melee fighters. Here's the problem: zealots fire is just that...fire damage. The aatxes (if not all the creatures down there) have a resistances to fire damage, so that 37 damage you're hoping for is only about 12. My build used to be based on your idea, but for Uw it's better to hit the creatures there with holy damage.
With zealot's fire doing 37 damage to everything for 7 energy every second or so, you might not even need Bal's Aura, though that would definitely help...
When the fight's over and you need energy, taking off divine boon and letting it recharge while you take a smoke break shouldn't be too horrible... You're soloing the UW with speed and in style.... ~~~EDIT~~~ Duh, you have blessed signet... Keeping divine boon on and spamming blessed sig during downtime or when you have 1 or 2 Aataxe is actually a lot faster than that single bar of energy regain.

I don't know if this is a bug or what but when I die with 105 HP and I get 15% DP, my health is always 33. Which is not bad since I become immortal against melee mobs without any negative HP focus item. The calculation is still strange. (Not to mention that at 30% DP I have 1 (one) HP, which is even more interesting.)

I think your death penalty is based on your base health, without the substraction of the gear you wear. After 2 deaths you have only 1 xp, and thats really too little lol!

It's not useful for UW since you can't go in solo and get DP. You can use it to solo sand drakes or something really easilly, though.

If player keep this build when the next expansion comes out how can they nerf protective bond when they have it?I use my Monk/War. for healing ad smiting for the most part not protection.I need my scalpal armor for that. |
