Two weeks. No update. Pissed off

Yeah today is the second week and we've yet to see an update.

Its either theyve gotten lazy OR

There saving up and waiting till they drop the X pack.

Im hoping for option two

You're pissed off? Sheesh, you're spoiled by their regular updates. Most games go two weeks without an update and it's totally normal. Relax, will ya?

Well they certainly havent been spending the time fixing the European server lag.

Maybe theyve all gone off on their summer holidays?

I dont see why you are getting annoyed about it, I think so far Anet has given us plenty of updates in relativly short spaces of time. Im sure they're working on the next update at the moment, (infact im certain of it). Fair enough you have to wait but so what, the longer the wait the bigger the update.

The lag issues in european servers are critical, it taken about a week to even state they were aware of then.

I doubt they will be fixed any time soon ... that is the price of playing (and living) in europe.

Oh no ... another one.

Well if the post about the "Brand the Boss" contest on the official GW site is any indication, we are at least 2 weeks away from the release of the summer update. I figure they'll just incorporate all the minor tweaks they've been working on into that big update and apply them all at once. I wouldn't panic... I'm sure ANet is still "on the case".

Thanks Drakron. You are absolutely right that there was a small patch last week. But...it was a patch nonetheless.

They rushed the release of this game, leaving out key features they promised. Now you want them to rush their updates? If you like garbage, that's good for you. I personaly dislike garbage.

It's been two weeks? meh.

Thats a lot of anger in one place! However, I can't say that I don't agree with you.

At ANets current work pace of 1 explanitory paragraph a week we may never get things done. With this premise it is also highly likely that they are working on a statement addressing GW and its future but they haven't gotten past the introduction

Seriously, how hard is it to read the thousands of complaints about the Europe servers, test and make sure its true, realize that the lag won't go away just by waiting, and write 2-3 lines to the public acknowledging the problem? They could have done this all in 15min after someone called it to their attention, maybe a day or 2 if they wanted to try to fix it first.

Rest assured, there will be another update before the X pack comes out, more likely there will be several updates before then. Will there be one this week, can't say, aren't told that information. As for the lag in the European servers, that I believe is a hardware issue and won't be fixed by a patch, they are still investigating and trying to isolate the problem.

I'm hoping for a live update with the new areas soon... or at least some info on it. Anet's so hush-hush...

Actually, they have written a response to the public about the European server issue. It's on the front page of the GWGuru site:


We wanted to share a bit of information about a recent problem that has shown itself to some players in the European regions. We have received reports of varying degrees of lag, where previously European Guild Wars players experienced excellent latency and great overall game performance. We are definitely aware of the situation, and are actively working on a solution right now. While we are not able to give a timeline for when the problem will be fully resolved, investigating and correcting this problem is a very high priority for us.

We would like to extend an apology for the current situation, and to express our thanks for your patience as we correct it.

To Tuna, please read the announcements on the front page. If one bothers to check before posting, a lot of things can be averted.

As for getting angry that there has been no significant update in the last two weeks, please remember that ANet was never obligated to have a regular scheduled update each Wednesday. That they have continued to keep the schedule says wonderful things about the company. However, it doesn't change the fact that it's a privilege, not a right.

Also, to the next person who results to sprouting vulgar language on these boards, emotional outburst or not, I have a nice little warning with your name on it.

Of course I read their statement but my original post was about the time it took to write those 5 sentances. If I recall correctly the European servers were having problems for a substantial amount of time, but I could be wrong.

Its only 6:30 cst which means its only 4:30 in Cali where im pretty sure anet is...why do u already assume they wont be an update?
And even if there isnt do we NEED one? Besides the euro lag which they have addressed and said they are doing their best to fix it is there something so wrong with the game that it needs to be addressed right this second? I dont recall them ever promising new content once a week.
