Question about just the tapestry shred. The first one I received was a long time ago, but I do remember that the shred would heal me from time to time, not much mind you and certainly not enough to warrant keeping the thing around, about 20hp. Back then when I asked around about the items I got the same response you get today, who knows, but my observations about the healing were confirmed. But I ask today and almost nobody notices it.

So does anyone know if that little bonus from this item was removed or people just don't notice it. And second, I just noticed that the shreds stack in the inventory slot, so if the healing is still in effect, does the bonus stack as well? Say I'm carrying 5 shreds, would I see the random heals more often or sumed up?

The quest is obviously an easter egg ever completed.

Just like that bloody rabbit in pre-searing. Thats probally another unfinshed quest that probally had GWEN involved. I hate it just sits there! *shakes fist* And you can't even kill it!

The children in cantha are modeled on gwens character.. lol they are reincarnations.. she lives on.. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Run away.. run away!

Its not hard to edit at all if you think about it, but I wonder what led you to think that it is shopped though. Where's the flaw?

Well, my mistake. Did you ever fought that there could be something hidden with the Taspery Shred, you can stack it (it means you can have many Taspery Shred`s in one slot of your inventory. My theory is, that there is no such *bullshit* as dead flower, or some quests for finding gwen. My theory is that you need to collect several Taspery Shred`s in pre-seering and try to give them to post or pre --seering Sarah. My theory is, that you need to do all the quests in Tyria to solve this damn easter egg. Ive also heard alot of rumors from my friend Takashi (he plays in asia servers), that chinese people solved this a long time ago before the factions.

Lots of people have talked about clearing out all of UW and not finding anything. But has anyone ever cleared out all of UW with the Tap shred, broken flute, and tatered cape in their inventory? Just a thought, I'm away from 'my' computer right now and can't try it myself untill maybe friday. Besides I probly wouldn't be able to clear the UW, much less even find a group willing to try.

general changes: gwen has immunity to ice damage so the IDS to defend urself wouldnt do any damage, youd have to find a different kind of dmg! harr harr!!!

I actually started to wonder about this when i stumbled across another forum with basically the same subject. This was about a month or 2 ago. I cleared every single thing there is to kill in Stingray Stand, and no Mingas and no tattered cape. I have never seen the flower, and no screens either. I would really like to acquire all of the items, and i tried for a very long time to get any of the items last time this subject caught my interest. I also cleared Watchtower Coast for the dead flowetr, but again, nothing. I would like any findings on these 2 items (or the UW quest =) ) so feel freeto PM me ingame

They got rid of mingas the meek in an update a while back. The cape should still drop though. I never once beleaved it was mingas who dropped it. It Didn't even drop next to him, just decently close.

My guild leader finished this quest. apparently, you find out gwen is the daughter of rurik... and you gain 20k exp for finishing it. it's susspose to be a long chain of quests, and thats all i know

In many generations, people did mistake`s and some people don`t try to learn from their mistake`s. What if this is MISTAKE, i think that gwen is not supposed to be in post-seering, i think that she is only pre-seering npc and she died like many others in ascalon kingdom. This is one of the biggest mistakes in the game (well, the biggest i think is that npc`s don`t move their mouths on the movies), what if ANet tryed to fix this stupi mistake and delete gwen, but why, she is so0o beautiful and she helps n00bs, so they left it, and some people who wrote this and many other threads about the gwen were hooked up by this stupid error named "gwen", ANet noticed that they don`t need to delete that npc, and that it would be good that people won`t sleep at nights by searching "the mistery" of gwen.
That is my theory.

I talked to her and she didn't say anything about a quest to find her flute. It let me give her a flower and that's it. I have the new flute and cape in my inventory, but everytime I talk to her, it only asks her to follow me. When I ask her to stop, she stands there with a green exclimation point above her head. The flute isn't at the river either. Am I screwed or what?

UW stands for under world. You acess it through temlpe of ages(ToA) in kryta.

@ Corrosive: You probly partnered up with some one who had already done everything for gwen. And after they left you got there copy of Gwen. That's how it all works.

Thanks. I'll keep an eye out for her in underworld when I get there. (Meeko is from Cantha and level 20 plus several skill points more, but I just got GW Prophecies and attached it to my acct, as I never heard of GWP until after I got GW Factions)

FYI, I got the tapestry bit from Gwen pre-searing by giving her five red iris flowers (found laying around), buying the red child's cloak (200 gold) and the flute (4 gold), she then said I was her favourite person, besides her mommy, and wanted to give me something, which was the tattered bit of tapestry.

I had looked up this thread to investigate all of these Gwen rumours. Out of curiosity, I set out to obtain the Broken Flute, Tapestry Shred, and the Tattered Girl's Cape. I obtained the flute and shred easily enough, but I scoured Stingray Strad but was unable to find the Tattered Cape (and certainly found no trace of Mingas the Meek).

So I set out to buy one, and I got it for 2k. To my surprise however, the item is not labelled as a "quest item", but as a salvage item! For the heck of it, I tried using an expert salvage kit, only to receive the message "this item cannot be salvaged". Was this item updated recently, altered from 'quest item' to dispel silly rumours such as the ones being explored here?

I'm not here to stir trouble or spread rumours; here's a screenshot. And I'm no photoshop master

Also note the conversation on the bottom (the person whom I purchased it from). He said that he obtained it from Pre-Searing ascalon. I can't verify that, but it's what he said.

There are(and always have been) two versions of the tattered cape. The quest item one, and the one you have. And like I said they took mingas the meek out in an update because he didn't do anything.

I have no idea. I think the salvage item version was a monster drop, if i remember right, so try fighting monsters in stingray strand.

Oh, and binarymike, what's that gold square thingy in your inventory?
