if you could see your friends energy all the time more than likely he wouldn't die as often....
/not signed to second
takes up too much space and would make the healer's job sooo much easier
as an mesmer or necro your hexs and curses would get removed in a second or less

Bump because this is worthwhile and well worth putting into the game. I;ve seen this in free games before, so it would be sad not to have it in Guild Wars.

And if no one else has said it, please let us add or remove bars, me I do not care what effects people have on them, most of the time I can tell by seeing who is beating on them but realistically, I can do nothing for them as a W/E, and some people may not care the exacts of what other people are using, and I am sure some may not care about the energy bar though those will be the idiot W/Mo complaining about no heals, but some may not be able to read it 90% of the time so it clutters their screen.
Definetly though, a more encompassing party display.

/signed for the energy bar but not for the one with the skills. in my head the one with skills would make it too easy for hex removers in pvp to choose the right target. Like the way it is now. And yes i play both one with hex removal and a hex user in pvp

can i get a /signed. we need this asap imo. Edit to add version two. ------------------------------------------------------------------ This shows conditions and enchantments you have underneath your hp and energy bar. The icon to the right of your char name shows the skill you are currently using. http://members.shaw.ca/mapper3d/Version2Dialog.jpg They can make it if you dbl click on the hex it should select(target) the foe for you that casted that hex, condition. |

the only bad thing that might happen is that everything might get a little clutterd?
Mo/R9
/signed for the first, /notsignedwhileIplay for the second. I am fine seeing the hexes (purple bars) and conditions (all different non-red coloured bars) with my monk to know to slap on a smite hex or purge conditions when neccessary.
Hakira
/signed for the energy bars, /notsigned for the hexes/buffs.
the energy bars alone would make the monks and necros job 100% easier, i dont see the need to clutter up the party bar just to make it even easier on them.

/signed - cool idea.

The picture showing all the skills, conditions and hexes would be too large to make playing a monk enjoyable. It would be too large and would block alot of the screen.
I like the energy bars though.

/signed. The pictures look good, too. Organized, pictures are big enough to tell what they are... nice layout... nicely done.

/signed for first suggestion.
i thought about the second suggestion... don't really like it. BUT seeing what skills your ally is using could be a nice addition - a simple small icon that starts darkened and lights up as it is cast/used. especially for PvE, just so you know what the hell your henchies are up to.. and in PvP, where sometimes people REALLY should call their skills, such as wards, big hexes, and don't. i understand that this could unnecissarily clutter the GUI.

It's extreme usefull to show the energy bars of all the party members on the party list. Visalize energy bar will give ppl more directly response to low energy members(expectially monk/s). ppl will stop rushing when they see their monks don't have enough energy or necro will "offering blood' to his monks when they REALY need it. Pinging for low energy really don't works in some cases.
Azn D
It wouldn't be so great beacuse it would get confusing as hell! If the monk or caster needs energy, tell them to spam it to you in team chat or over ts/vent. Also, tell them to spam it much much earlier, like when they are half gone, don't worry i am a battery sometimes, it pisses me off when they start to yell at me if they are too stupid to call their energy. If you want to be the best battery just give them energy every like 2 seconds so they don't cry to you. Also, I jhate those idiot warriors to rush in when they want. Tell the monks to tell them, "You wanna rush? Heal yourself you dumbass tank." It'll make them stop a few more times than usual

Or what about puting BR on a bonder monk? Why the hell would you do that? I didn't ask you to maintain my energy. I can manage it myself. What do you think I am doing staying half the screen from the battle. Run back you stupid necro and stay where you belong
Anyway, I think the idea is great.
Jhawk
ok theres this one command that already does this ctrl+click on your energy bar..
there now everyone knows the enegry

To be honest, if a Wammo doesn't notice you pinging your energy, he/she isn't going to notice an energy bar.

I agree to having the energy bar visible to the rest of the party members, BUT, that should not be a free ticket to battery necros to use BiP or Blood Ritual. My main is a Necro and EVERY time we go down to FoW or UW, i explicitly tell my team that ONLY spam your energy when you are LOW. LOW Means 20-25 for Ele's and 15-20 for other casters. Why should I sacrifice 33% or 17% of MY health when an ele's energy is at Half what it usually is? 33% is a HUGE amount of life to be sacrificing, by principle. Most ppl seem to understand my logic in this.
My fear is that if the energy bars are added to the party window, less-responsible battery necros will zap casters when casters THEMSELVES perhaps don't need it. I know that there have been more than a handful of times that ive gone to FoW with my healing monk, and *in a pinch* I could keep the party alive with having just ~10 energy left. Would a bip zap be helpful? Sure, but NOT while the rest of the party is sustaining massive spike dmg. All that that zap does is force me to heal one MORE person. It...becomes a liability at times, especially to the unexperienced.

Good idea and help eles also cos they always complain about energy

It'll also help you try and find a good team, you know if you go in and the fire ele's energy drops to zero within 10 seconds and then very slowly goes back up then he has no form of energy management. Maybe something really unobtrusive like avery thin blue bar underneath the health or something.

I don't see why energy bars will confuse the necros in pvp. If u need bip or offering every 2 seconds, u can always use ts/vt to tell em u need energy. If hp bar doesn't show on the part list, that will really confuse a monk.
Make the enery bar seeable gives party members another hint on energy management. It's all about active or passive.

pinging works only if ur group is paying attention... and then u still have 2 find thier name on the Party list. small energy bar would be super helpfull for fast targeting.

I think it is a good idea. Also, if you could see your enemies enrgy bar would be cool too. It would help mesmers no actually how much energy they are losing (besides the numbers) and see if it actually makes a difference. Also could help pick out weak enemies (and we get to see really how much enrgy bosses and PvE monsters have). Maybe though seeing enemies wouldnt be too good.

/signed for the energy bars. Such info is good to know.
Seeing what is on my allies may or may not be useful. Anything critical is going to get called out (ok, it will in the groups I play in) and anything not critical is. . .well, not critical. It can wait, or not get removed at all. Only in one or two cases have I wondered what was on my allies with more than a passing interist (is that just bleeding, or bleeding, cripple, deep wound, and dazed?)

Partial information is part of what makes the game fun. Pinging your energy bar is easier than having 8 more bars to watch. Also, energy drain is a tough enough approach without simplifying battery builds.

Threads merged (This and the other energy bar to pary menu thread.) to avoid confusion, repetition of ideas, and to make it easier for those using the search button.

I was wondering where that thread disappeared to lol anyway support for this one, though I'd have it so the energy bar merges more seamlessly into the health bar i.e. the seperating line is not so distinct.
The display of conditions though, two minds about that though: it would become very cluttered.
