Alcaza, please use the search button to find out why +armor is better than full tattoos in the long run.
Full tats suck. So does full enchanter's for mesmer.
Insightful staff heads suck for the same reason.
Lets shatter a dumb myth

Well most of my thoughts have already been posted but Id like to mention a few things.
1. Someone mentioned something about aegis healing people with DF. in actuality spells like aegis and heal party only give the caster healing from DF and noone else.
2. When it comes to an e/mo vs. a mo/x I would bet that I can out heal any ele with my monk. not taking into account DF, 16 healing or prot is simply more effective than any amount of energy. yes an e/mo can be an effective healer/prot in PvE but when your in a battle for your life Id much rather put my life in the hands of a pure monk. as for pvp an ele simply cant match the output of a good healer/prot monk. fractions of a second matter in pvp and I cant be waiting for an ele to cast two spells that have the effectiveness of the monks 1 spell. not to mention with the proper build and careful management of my energy I will rarely have energy problems.
3. Your comment about having played nearly 1000 hours proving that youre not a noob means nothing. I know people that have played longer than that that I would still consider noobs and others that have played mere fractions of that and are some of the most skilled players Ive met. but as long as were comparing our epeens Ive played 948 hours and 25 minutes, beaten the game 4 times across 6 characters (3 of which have been deleted), have 223 fame (not that rank 3 means that much), and have every item in the game unlocked. My two main characters are an Ele which is currently an E/Mo with every Elementalist and Monk skill and over 1.3 million xp and a Monk who can play all secondaries depending on what I need with over 1.6 million xp both of whom have tried nearly every possible build including the one that you refer to.
anyways thats my rant for the day (actually its like my 4th ). You may now return to your regularly scheduled forum activities.

imo, it's not just the skills in your skill bar that matters but also how you use them.

the thing is that monks can get almost the same effect from Orison as an E/Mo can get from Heal Other. for half price.
don't get me wrong. i have played as healer with my first N/Mo when she was in the desert. i have been healer as my E/Mo when SHE was in the desert. i have also been healer with my Mo/Me, all through the game .
it was undoubtably easier as my primary monk to keep people alive.
lets not forget the divine favor skills. divine healing is a most amazing form of heal area.
i'm sorry but 14 points in healing and favor are more effective than 12 in healing and 16 in energy storage. it just is.
the others can indeed do a good job when healing but they simply aren't as good. i would prefer the N/Mo in my team to be minioning or BiPing than being a healer.
just as i prefer Monks to be healing or prot than wannabe nukers (i include myself in this)

I've played both kinds of healers pretty extensively myself. Trying to play an e/mo healer without ether prodigy blows. Hard. But if you're comparing pure energy effeciency, both kinds of healers are viable. Monk primaries simply have more options to set up their build, whereas if an e/mo wants to heal, in my opinion, there's only a couple ways to do it, and as a result, I think it becomes too easy for e/mos to take the wrong skills.
Okay, again. Comparing only for energy effeciency.
E/mo's Heal Other for about 150 health, 10 energy. If the e/mo uses ether prodigy, that's the equivalent of halving that spell's energy cost.
Monk primary's Healing Touch, for 5 energy, also heals about that much. Monk primary's orison of Healing is just under 120. The Word of Healing can be over 200.
Both classes are viable, in my opinion.
(To repeat what IxChel said earlier, Divine Favor does not effect Heal Area, Heal Party, or Aegis. The Divine Favor on those spells only takes effect on yourself. I just tested this personally to double-check.)
In a slightly different arguement, I like for players to be able to make their builds how they want, and then when people put groups together, advertise your character's purpose rather than their class. People may learn different things than you, playing with different skills, and might realize an interesting way to work things in game that wouldn't be easily seen simply reading skill descriptions. Assuming what people do by their primary class can seem risky to me..

A monk necro with blood magic and offering of blood can heal endlessly. Thats what I run.
