Lynxx must of played shadowbane, no where else I have seen accusations with such baseless claims about anyone, espically female gamers (who just atrract idiot's faster then the republican party), except on the shadowbane forums.

I dont know where you got the info that I claim to know lulu quite personally, you make it sound like I claim to be playing with her every day or something, I never claimed that. And bigger in game? I dont even know what thats supposed to refer to or mean, honestly how "big" do you think I really am trying to be, obviously by posting I subject myself to countless people that many people here know, in fact I would say that I would do nothing for my personal "bigness" in game other then actually make me small.

Just to clear this matter up a bit. The lulu that is on this forum account, had the name Lulu The Monk. This nick has been 'retired' for about 3 to 3 1/2 months. I have since used many smurf names. The latest has been Lulu Cheats N Hacks. Lulu the Monk is currently being held by Charima, a friend of mine.

So what you are really saying is: "I don't know Lulu, I have no idea what I am talking about, and I really have only heard rumors that LuLu goes around joining guilds and steals their builds. On topic, I am a huge proponent of sharing builds. Build 'secrets' really do nothing if this game is to be a game of 'skill'. The reason anytime any videos that I have been in, we have always freely given out the information as to what was in the build. Execution of the build is what is important. I have always tried my best to say who inspired the build, where we saw the build, what we didn't like about it and what we tried to change etc.

For example in this build, the first night we ran it, Izzy said "hey guys, I want to run a FoC build, anybody want to try?". He told us to bring 6 necro/rangers with 2 spirits each for mana management. We went in, had some mild success with it. After we came back out, paul pointed out the Fi version of this build that was run during the alpha. I personally had gotten to play against this build, but we utilized natures renewal so we didn't really get to feel the impact of this build. We all agreed that mana really wasn't an issue, and that the 5 second cast on spirits was pretty useless.

We then took nec/mes's with arcane echo and a few of us fiddled with our attributes to have an increase in soul reaping. So at this point, who is the originator of the build? Izzy? Izzy + Fianna? Izzy + the vent group? Izzy + Fianna + vent group? Fianna + vent group? Well... I don't really know. Id still give Izzy a fair shake at it. However if you look at the original build vs the one that is actually run, 6 sub classes got changed, and 12 skills out of 64 got changed, and a few attribute points shifted.

Why is it important that the idea/concept of the build have a single sole creator? I have yet to really come up with any build on my own. Balthz aura I give credit to salmon, minion build izzy, bully build izzy, i hate izzy build to trex, KOR copy cat build i credit to KOR (of course ) My obs flame trapper build was a conglomeration of a bunch of ideas I saw during a BWE, and tried to put them in a cohesive build. I have yet to have ever posted "oh man, I came up with this GREAT IDEA, this is MINE" It has always been, "man, they ran this, and it was pretty good/awesome. How can we make it better?"

In a game where the skill combinations are finite, and themes are fairly constant (edenial, warrior heavy, ranger heavy, caster heavy, hex heavy, condition heavy, enchant based, etc. etc. etc.) people really should focus on player ability.

The reason I didn't respond to your initial accusation, is because they are so laughable. Everybody that has 'known' me as well as you can on an online game, would know firsthand that what you said was ludicrous. Why would I ever need to go guild hopping to steal builds when I can just ask all the people around me what they are running? I really don't have any idea why I get the credit for things I have never done. I have posted numerous times on numerous boards, but I somehow fear Izzy's wrath has not abated I crossed his path, and he has been intent on destroying me. A lover's spat I suppose.

I know lulu in real life, we were best friends in 5th grade...ya, were friends, until the day she brought the same lunch as me and then went and told everyone that it was her lunch. I mean, wtf, i had been bringing pb&j + cheetohs + capri sun for weeks and suddenly she brings it and claims that its her lunch. She even made a video of herself making the lunch at home --- utter bullshit. You know whats horrible? She used to befriend different groups of people just to steal their lunch ideas! She joined the biker gang that one time and claimed the pastrami on rye with a side of ruffles was hers. I mean come on! Shes never even been in a biker gang! Seriously! I mean while i agree everyone in the world has the capacity to be a great person, and everyone has friends, and all we need is a little love, ya know? But really, i think that i am talking about a different lulu than the lulu i knew and was best friends with because i just saw lulu online 2 days ago and lulu retired from life i think. anyone who "knows" lulu should at least know by his voice that lulu is male. lulu is always on vent when he plays gw because, let's face it, typing sux.

pisses me off when people get genders confused... and before you turn that around on lulu for having a girly name, perhaps his real name is something like louis? or maybe he'd just like to watch a beautiful young lady with a cute name all day than a handsome young man with a mean name? i know for a fact that he doesn't roleplay at all (even hates the founding concepts of it), so he's not playing "as a girl", but rather "with a girl right in front of him".

one more thing: anyone who gets upset over their build being "stolen" needs a kick in the face. this game is about player skill, not your choice of skills. im pretty sure that if the "originators" of this fabulous build ever played with it against "lulu and his cronies", the wise and wonderful sages of the necro build would get their faces pwnzd so fast that they would all start randomly screaming "omg", "wtf" and "hax" on their way to the lunatic asylum

Yup it happened to my guild Super Loving Ultra Team just 2 weeks ago. Lulu joined and stole our LoD/corpse-piling build where we abused Death Nova and Leech Signet. She's definitely a noob thief that sucks at life.

ya know...someone once told me it's not who did it first, it's who did it best that matters.

That build definitely doesn't work well in arena groups, especially randoms.. jeez.

I personally prefer the Siphon build, as far as fun-factor and surviveability goes, getting 10 health a second and your opponent losing about 15 health a second, sometimes more depending on what build you're running, and gain back about 130 health every 20 seconds. Best part is, that's just one opponent. Cast it on multiples, and you force the monk to heal multiple people, thus lowering his energy, and you're also gaining even more health by having multiple hexes running, usually gaining about 20 health a second (a shame it can't actually regen this fast). The FoC build is a bit too limited, and dangerous to try to use if you're the first one people jump on, which you usually are, especially if the opposing team has a mesmer or a ranger.

Why would it work in arenas? The whole premise is having lots of necros running the build, so you can instantly kill people.

5 interrupt/quickshot rangers and 3 monks designed to work under NR can prolly handle a team like this

It was an interesting video. Could I hear some insights on the tradeoffs between using curse necros as the engine for aoe spike, as opposed to, say, a team of earth eles or something like that? (earthquake, AS, CW, OF)

Sure.

Elementalist spike tends to be faster, and harder, than the necro spike, but ultimately less substainable in my opinion. Even if you use Elemental Attunement for your elite, you will eventually be out of energy and have longer gaps between your spikes.

The necro spike also the advantage of gaining energy for every kill, and every minion created through Malign. It gains health regularly through Parasitic Bond (138 hp heal is not shabby) and Feast of Corruption.

A team-wide spike using aftershock would seem even harder to do than the necro spike too. Not only do you have to time it right, but you have to all be surrounding the target(s) at the point of knockdown. Good for IWAY, but less good against other builds.

If I wanted to do Elem spike, I'd focus on Air magic and have someone bring Frozen Soil. That way, you can nail one target at a time, they don't get res'd, and by the time you've used your energy, hopefully they're all dead. Obsidian Flame could work too. Very nice armor-ignoring damage for low energy, if you can deal with the exhaustion.

Just my thoughts.

I had been thinking an earth spike team might be a good spike option because of its versatility. OF for single target spike, quake for ranged clusters (plus knockdown helps supress healers while you clean up if you are lucky), AS/CW for IWAY, wards for various defensive options, or vs foes for helping to keep people still while you swarm in for AS/CW. As opposed to say the air ele spike which mainly focuses on single target and also has to deal with LOS and moving targets, or necro spike which needs enchant heavy targets for single target spiking.

I hadn't really thought about how much energy and healing you're getting left and right tho...
