WHY SHOULD (OTHER)GOLD ITEMS BE LESS VALUABLE NOW AFTER THE UPDATE?

Why? Is it because u can get a GREEN version of it? Or is it because you can now get one from a crafter? People, I personally think that ANET put 'em GREEN items and items u can get from a crafter for one sole purpose...to give people that doesn't have millions of plat a chance to hold a weapon with MAX DAM (LOW REQ) +15>50 SUNDERING/FURIOUS 10% +30HP!! Seriously, tell me how much is a Perfect sword pommel or a perfect sundering/furious upgrade cost??? A LOT!!! If you see some1 selling a gold item you cannot just go up to him and say "hey il buy ur perfect sword for 100k only, you know why? because u can get green items with the same stats!" OMFG!!! Then why don't you just FARM for a green sword that looks like mine in SF or GF??? Don't friggin insult my intelligence with that smart a@@ remark! Because for all I know, PERFECT GREEN ITEMS ARE EASILY FOUND! I found 2 perfect green items in 3 runs on SF (bows that looks like a halfmoon) and sold them for 23K each in Ascalon! WHY DID I DO THAT??? Simple, that's what its intended for! To be sold for some people who doesn't have enough money to buy a perfect weapon. Now do I care if they're going to re-sell that for more? No. Just the fact that I was spamming that under the Local/Trade channel so people will see how/what Greens should really worth is all Im after.

Now, for all of you GOLD lovers....do you feel good when ur wielding a green item in battle? how 'bout a blue item from a collector? I personally don't. Wielding a perfect gold weapon just makes me feel INVINCIBLE!! The looks....its color...ahhhh refreshing!! From my personal experience playing here in GW, My first character w/c is an Elementalist, wielded a collectors item with +26Hp. But after playing hours after hours....going to LA to buy and sell...haggling with some people...ripping off the noobs....farming back then in riverside...I got rich! Then I did what some of us would do...start a new game with another character! But this time, my character will be godlly!! (xcuse me for using that word!) he will have the best armor and the best gold weapon the game can offer! So I did exactly that!

Now going back to the topic! Perfect GOLD weapons are for rich people and people who can afford it. Perfect gold weapons should still be expensive because THEY ARE HARD to come by! Do not compare them with those Green Items that you can easily find in SF. Perfect gold items should still be expensive because THEY ARE RARE AND HARD TO COME BY!!! If Green items and blue items make u feel good when wielding them I respect that, BUT please Do Not compare them with GOLD items!

Now that I have said my piece, tell me yours! BRING IT ON!!!

Umm... I feel just fine wielding my modded collector items. Personally I don't feel like farming for days, or shelling out massive amounts of money for perfect gold weapons. If that floats your boat, power to you my man. But I'll make do with collector gear thank you.

They should have always been cheap anyway. I never used to sell max gold items for more than double what the trader would give me. There was one time that someone gave me a nice tip because they felt guilty about taking my 15>50 shocking flamberge of defense for 500 gold.

Why someone needs 100k for a weapon eludes me.

So, to answer your question, they should have always been cheap IMO.

sundering is a useless mod....fortitude is a useless mod.

if you can't handle wielding 1 under perfect or 1 off max dmg you need to go play WoW because this game isn't for you.

Green items are unique items which usually have completely different appearences than other items in the game an who have their own name.

They are *more* valuable than gold items because they are unique and can only be found in one place.

HOWEVER

They are not more powerful than gold items, and gold items are not more powerful than a blue or purple modified to their stats.

Colors are now being stereotyped.

If u cant read, this thread isnt for u! I said it up there that I USED TO wield a collectors weapon, but now I have money why would i settle for that? You say that Sundering and Fortitude are useless MODs?? Well I personally think that ur still a NOOB. In PVP or GVG Sundering is very important beacause of all the high armored warriors out there. It somehow, adds more damage to your attack because of the armor penetration. Theres more to be said but I feel that im just wasting my time on u.

Collector's items have been out there for some time now... It's with the green items are similiar to collector's items, the only diffrence is that everyone knows about green items where most did not about collector's and what they could do for you.

When I can get a max damage collector flame wand with 20% skill fire recharge stacked with Engery +12, and two 20% conditions for an collector flame artifact for 5 mintaur horns and 5 avery feather scalps.... compared to 1xxk gold wand...

I think it boils down to everyone know green items so why get gold, if you want a better customizable gold item go for it, but if prices are dropping... supply and demand.

It's all on the farmers / botters that have brought those insane levels of gold into the game that those items are supposedly 'worth' that much.

Exactly.I was able to find a blue Ball Hammer with the +15% damage while hp above 50% mod.It's sad though that people would actually go out of their way to simply find a gold version of the same weapon.

I offered 4 different people a Gold Dwarven Axe, Max damage, +13% damage while in a stance, lengthens Weakness and a +6 physical defence mod to people for only 1k.But all they wanted was their regular Chaos Axes.I then decided to give it to a guildie.

10% chance of 10% armor penetration...that's a useless mod compared to what else is available. Honestly the amount of extra dmg you are doing is insignificant. It's a waste of an upgrade.

Collectors Weapons are the best weapons in the game...but you're a WoW reject that thinks GOLD = BETTER...

it is very simple gold items are cheaper now because of the new chest system.

everyone now can get a gold item in most chests. because of this thre is simply a lot of gold items on the market.

I think the arguments about whether fortitude mods are worthless (or not) have been hashed out in the other thread (versus armor mods).

To me, I believe these have value but nowhere near the amount of value that is assigned to them in the market. That makes armor the better choice economically, but to me the fortitude is a better mod.

Regarding sundering - I agree - but the jist here is whether you want a mod that will have ANY chance of increasing damage. That's the only one that I know of that will do that, other than the increasing weapon mastery mods. That's why they have such a premium - a premium that is not well founded, IMO.

Show me that ball hammer please. A blue item, unless collectors, will not spawn with 15>50. And to the best of my knowledge there is not collector's ball hammer.

10% armor penetration is nice. But 10% chance in applying that? Useless. This is why Sundering is useless. Add to the fact you may apply unmodified damage from skill or spell sundering's effect is minimal.

Fortitude can usefull but it depends on your build. Nevertheless I prefer +5 armor.

Yes gold items are still valuable not just insanely like before.

Because collectors items are just as good as, if not better, than "gold" items. This isn't World of Warcraft, it's not EverQuest, it's Guild Wars. Rare is not better.

Oh, this is just precious. This would be my new signature, if I didn't have the things disabled. You're the "noob", you moron. +30hp is buttons compared to a +5 Defense mod, if it's survivability you're after. And Sundering? I can't believe that you're arguing in favour of that for PvP situations. For one, it's a 10% chance, which is just pathetic. And while 10% armour penetration can add a bit of damage, if the effect even goes off, you're better off looking down other avenues for adding damage. A Vampiric mod will add 3/5 unavoidable damage that ignores armour every swing. It will deal far more damage over time than your precious Sundering mod, and doesn't have a ridiculous 10% chance attached to it.

Well..its not neccesarily a Collectors..But you get it from an NPC.

The Droknars Weapon NPC has it..for 5 plat 25 iron ingots, 10-25 wood planks (I cant remember the exact number..)and 5 steel ingots.

It in my opinion was well worth it.Better than trying to buy it from the other retards who play this game.

Totally agree with you. I seen people selling green items for 10k or more.. (hell i saw one person advertise 50k for a green item) And believe me, gold items still worth more than green, purple, and blue combined. I have several gold items, and each one should worth more than those green items.

SHOULD be is the key word. you see your gold item is actually worthless....it held an inflated value based on it's rarity...now that the weapon is no longer rare it's value is going to drop significantly. Greens are the new expensive weapons based entirely on rarity...the weapons themselves are marginally(if at all) better than collectors weapons. Rarity dictates price....outside of a weapons rarity they are basically all the same.....sorry that your POS Gold Weapon isn't worth anything anymore...but such is life.

I'm fine with modding perfect collector items with perfect upgrades ... ummm hello pvp weapons .... who gives a damn if its gold or not ... doesn't tickle my pants like it seems to do yours ... btw collector items are perfect ... so having the gold writing simply to get your rocks off completely makes no sense. I own numerous perfect swords, bows, but I still use the collector items because it just seems to make sense in my eyes.
