The NICEST people you've encountered on GW!
Yichi
I have 2 stories about some of the nicest people I've met
First story: Tryign to get into pvp a little more and needed some advice and hints when first crossing over. Messaged someone on here who was very helpful and nice and gave me some great advice that i still use and remember to this day and has helped me in pvp, helped me make friends that tomb a lot and take me along as the advice and hints practiced have proven for me to be usefull to almost any group.
Second story: when getting my FOW armor for my monk in pve, we cleared the forgemaster and i got my armor and continued questing. i had 2 shards drop from one group, but upon killing the group i got an err=7 before being able to pick them up. The ele in our party picked them up for me and added me to his friends list and gave them to me as he said that for being the only healer (our other monk was a smite monk that we could no longer res) that i had earned them and gave me the 2 shards that dropped next time he saw me online. I about fainted. I was nice enought to split it and give him one for going through all that trouble as to hunt me down to give them to me. he was greatful because it was his first char and needed some help. he traded the shard for the fire collectors staff and a +4 insightful head and +20 fort wrap and was happy. He stayed on my friends list and we still talk and quest together occasionally

Here's something fun that I do for my guild that people see as very nice. I will hold a weekly 'Hide and Seek' day. This involves me giving a clue as to which town I'm in, and when a guildie finds me I give him/her a nice prize. I usually hold onto gold weapons/items I won't use and save them for this weekly event, when those are gone I usually give away 3-5k prizes. Usually amounts to 50-75k worth of stuff/cash in about an hour. (trickle-down economics that actually works )

I enter a party. A monk was invited and he yelled: OMG! no not *jerk's name* You are a *%"/* theif ! I'm not playing with you! *leaves*
Me:What was that all about?
Jerk: Some guy I stole from?
Me: What did you steal from him?
Jerk: A max dmg gold crystaline sword last time I went in.
Me: And you don't feel bad about it?
Jerk: Nope
Me: Why?
Jerk: Other people do it all the time and one did it to me!
Why wouldn't I?
Me: *leaves*

FoW:
Me *dies*
Random monster drops a Shadow key. 2 party members are left alive none of them apparently have res.
Me: T_T Noooo! I'm dead and a key droped for me!
Nice guy: If you want we can wait a bit and I'll pick it up for you.
Me really? Woah you'd do that! Thanks
**Waits a bit pics up key**
Nice guy: Meet ya at d-2
I leave and sure enough he's waiting in d-2 and give me the key. I gave him a nice unident purple longbow for being nice

Well said and exactly right Truthbarron - this thread was created to share good deeds or relate good experiences with OTHER players in the game.
Not to take away the ME-horn for those who are tooting it, but........
I think the one thing everyone can take from this thread is how impactful a nice player is on our gaming experience. It's truly sad that it stands out so much that we'll add them to our friends list, that the experience is almost foreign to us. Says allot for how many griefing/self righteous/hollierthanthou gamers are out there.
Kudo's to all who've impressed themselves upon others in-game...in a good way!! /clap /cheer /bow

Although it has been a long time ago, I met someone who I did lots of questing with. He didn`t give me anything and I didn`t give him anything. We were just friends who liked to do questing together. And that is the nicest person (apart from my RL-friends and <most of> my guildmates) I met.
Also, everytime I meet someone really nice, it is because we are in a difficult mission/quest, which actually is not such a quest which can be run.
To the ppl who say there are only very few nice ppl. Try do those quest, you will get to know the others better.

The nicest guy in Guild Wars "loaned" me 45 plat and then when I tried to repay him he refused to take my money.

Most awesome people in guildwars:
I got in a group (something like my fifth) for Ring of Fire. To begin with, there was me and another monk and then your average PUG- a bunch of warriors ran ahead, died, and left, etc.
We got back to Ring of Fire, and the other monk and I agreed not to leave, that we'd make our own group- take note that there was still one or two people from our old group, some GOOD people.
So we put out an advertisement for a few fun people to do ring of fire with.
Then we went in, with three rangers, two monks, two warriors, and an ele-- and we did it. Not easily, but it was perhaps the most awesome time I have ever had. There was a ranger who chattered about everything, the other monk who got more and more drunk- and synced better with me the more wasted she got. There were other people, a few cynicists who put in some biting commentary and one or two quiet folks... but there was not ten seconds that went by where there was no chat. It was really. bloody. awesome.
Then there were the monks in grotto who immediately got me in on a sync dance as soon as I zoned in, the elementalist in ToA yesterday who I chatted with as we were waiting for favor and bemoaning high school courses, and the group who actually made it easy for me to heal seven at once with only my own energy.
For some reason, everyone's nicer to my monk than to my necro -_-

After spending an awful lot of time reading the "Biggest Jerk You've Ever Encountered"-thread (and laughed), I thought that there might be ppl out there who've met some nice folks in GW.
I know that guildies often help out with money, time, help, items and stuff but I've met an astounding amount of ppl in-game who don't know me but nonetheless are willing to lend a hand, a rez, their time and/or a spell. I'm in a tiny guild exclusively made up by ppl I used to play RP with (in real life) 15 years ago - aka my best friends - but they don't have as much time to play GW as I do and that's why it's nice to find that total strangers are actually willing to help you (or... me ) out.
I acquired the wonderful Crimson Carapace Shield with the help of one Lord D.....l who also introduced me to the art of farming. And now I farm a lot, I guess I should add. Before the shield was hard to come by, he turned up with his Mo/X and did his thing while I was bashing griffs. I know that this thread most likely won't bring up names of ppl who don't want the praise but I could imagine Lord D getting a lot of unwanted attention - and I merely want to thank him and all the hundreds of ppl who have aided me.
To keep karma, I give stuff away and sometimes run ppl for free, though I guess I'll never be able to do the Drok run. Oh well...
Apart from your (*sigh*) very nice guildies, who have helped you out and how?

Was trying to do bonus mission for one of the desert missions. Getting a good pug is hard for bonus stuff there. We had to do the desert one twice. That night, knocked out one dessert and two lower shiver peaks bonus missions with him.
That and he had a great sense of humor. He used the slow staff in Dunes (I think) acting as a gear tank and was dancing while we nuked the stuff that was trying to rush us at the entrance.

i'll have to stick with chris and say that the nicest person i've met in gw is myself
-i do free runs, although tips are always welcome
-i often do ascalon->cay for free/tips
-i offer help on the hard mission areas, yes even the long ass ones
-i will farm for friends and not expect money back
i stay guildless so i can help everyone out, unless you see me in pvp
even in pvp i don't badmouth at all, i just play the game like it was meant to be

The nicest person i've met is this dude who bought my sister (she has an ascended nuker on my account) a set of full forge armor. He always helps her out with quests and missions. No one has bothered to help me much though, everything i have I earned myself.

The nicest guy I've met was this guy named Death of Discworld. He introduced me to PvP, got me my Tiger, and gave me tons of sigils. He is just so nice. I recommend him if you ever need someone for Tombs, since he can do pretty much anything.
I <3 Death!
I <3 Death!

The nicest people I've ever met were usually rare but these pickup groups really were fun to work with, as they would laugh at my corny jokes ;D. Other than that, I haven't really met anyone and considering that I'm still pretty new, I'd like to have more friends on my friendslist than just my school mate. Talk to me sometime and I say lets make a more friendlier community than the one those "jerks" create.

Well, maybe not the nicest, but the most recent that I remember.
I was going to make a trade with another member on here, who happened to be in TOA at the time. I typed his name to find him faster and ended up joining the PUG he was in for a UW run. I was the only monk in an 8 man group. There were 4 tanks who all decided to tank (instead of waiting for 1 to get full aggro). Needless to say, they died and starting yelling at me all the stupid "WTF Monk, where's the Heal?" "Stupid monk" "heal me heal me" "rez me rez me" etc. and just being jerks.
But then, one guy started typing things like "hey give him a break, he's only ONE monk, how much can you expect him to do" and other stuff like that.
It was nice to have someone stick up for me and realize that it wasn't my fault.

Most of the nicest people Ive met are the people I recruited into my guild.

What seems to happen to me alot is that I'm in a bad mood and I get angry with someone, say something nasty; they've done something stupid but me getting angry isn't called for. They then inform me of this usually with lots of swearing.
We argue for a bit in PM, then both apologise, compliment eachother, get the mission done and those people turn out the best gw friends I've made.
I frickin wierd.
Also there was the time I was trading some green item for 100k, but the trade kept getting canceled. After I while I suggested we both step outside, drop the items/gold and run and pick them up... I am good at clever.
We went out and both dropped the items, swapped places and then I tried to pick up the 100k he'd dropped for me. Of course the reason the trade window was cancelling on accept was that I was already carrying money so I didn't have room for my 100k: uh-oh, I'm ripe for the scamming, he has his staff, I can't pick up the money. BUT HE WAS A NICE GUY YAY
He picked up the money, we went back to town and he paid me what he said he would.

After I started my guild i found a really cool guy who had crappy armor, so I bought him a full set of Droks platemail, then he joined my guild. In all i've probably given him 250k and a sup rune of absorbtion. He's my #1 Officer and he helps all the newbs in our guild. nicest person i know.
glenn_rolfe
funny how all the jerk and nice stories are only PvE.
I'd suggest I'm the nicest person in GW, because I help out all those dudes in tombs trying out whacky builds that have no chance of ever working, instead of going and farming some more fame to get my tiger.
So me, I'm the nicest, and obviously the modest (don't forget studliest in there as well)

I tend to like the good sports people over the " here take this " freebee people..
a game that has such a large portion of player vs player has a terrible rep of being nice...
a good example is the difference between random arena and HOH or droks arena...
in random its rather common for a team to hussle up a "GG" after the bout... rarely is there some child spamming " OWNED!!!!!!!!!" or crap..
yet in HOH everytime Ive been there there has been some crap talking punks. and most of the teams where american as well...

its true we can find many of this crap talk punks inside guildwars , but i think they cant reach some areas , they cant do some quests , simply becose they dont fit in any possible team ...
there are a lot of nice people in GW
people say it easy to level and fast to bla bla bla , well , i think the most hard thing in gw is to level up with this crap talk punks destroing team spirit here and there ... after you reach the high level quests ... 99.9% are decent , educated , nice people to be with.

One day I was being run to uh..Yaks I believe, and there was a monk along with me, dancing and chatting. We got onto the topic of how much money we got in the game. I had an amazing 2k gold =P, while he shows me up with 400k on that lvl 8 monk D:. He drops a starter staff, and says "WTB: Starter Staff ~ 2k", so I decided to trade. He pays me, and drops the staff and repeats. Quickly I hit 11k in gold. I feel richer than ever. *realizes others are millionaires* -_-"

Nicest people in the game? The ones in my guild.
Don't flame me, it is just my subjective opinion. It may very well be true, though...

There are many nice people I have met online in this game. But actually some of my favorite "nice" people are from here.
Have to start out with Arturo02. Decent chap...laughs at my corny jokes. Met him here...played a mission or two with him...accepted his invite to his very mature grown up and fun guild.
Also...I met PieXags. He is a kind soul as well. Do not let him tell you otherwise. I made sure I dragged his buttocks into the guild as well.
There are many others. Wish I could play a mission or two with some other members from guru in the game. Especially some of the lovely females from here.

Nicest people to me are the one who share builds with me and with who I can discuss some nice combos and all kind of crazy pvp things.
Sure I think I'm nice when I share my builds . Gold is nothing in my opinion.

The nicest people ever,
- The monks, we were dancing in pre but never saw them again -_-*
- 2 rangers ( can't say there names) who (when i was still a ranger) were holding a idols contest in pre. Still have them in my friends list.
We were looking for some people 2 start a band but nobody wanted to enter ^^

hmm, the Nicest people... well, I may have to jump over a bus... J/k!!
Well the party who helped me kill Glint was some good friends, but I have rarely had any contact from them for while.
definetly PieXags when I helped him get his Dyes and he gave me some gold for a bow I couldn't sell (I gave him half for the effort )
and possibly the non-game forum people who don't spam 'noob' and other offensive things to Neuteral Forum Members
oh and a big shout out to Warrior Nation!!

When I first started the game I met a player I knew from another game, a guy I didn't even get along with. He gave me a superb gold longbow which is still my main weapon.

Probably in beta i met a nice group of ppl. we didnt know wat the hell we were doing but we got 50 wins in Ascalon arena it was 3 rangers 1 monk. it was best random team ever and we were like omg how long can we go on.
Then there was this other beta group in Fort Kogas arena random, again, it was 2 wa/mo (i was one of them, it was when they were good ok ) 1 monk and 1 ele. we fought a group of 3 monks and 1 ra/mo. and the worst thing was that this was when rebirth could be done anywhere around the area. and i think it might have been one of the first hour long battles. after that we were like "wow gj guys "
