The NICEST people you've encountered on GW!
Yichi
The other day i had someone me one of the nicest guys that they knew in GW. I had an ele at one time and decided not to play her in favor of building a ranger (having more fun) and i had her 20% fire recharge wand and +1 fire/+30 health offhand in my storage that i wasnt using. I was bringing my new ranger through and did the first couple missions/quests with a guy that had made an ele that was new to gw. After going and grabbing my monk and helping him through a little longer, i saw he was using a junk weap/item and didnt have anything he could afford to get a better one. I was having a good day sincei got a raise at work and gf stopped being a crab so i just gave them to him. it felt good to be able to help him and its not like those items are easily replaceable if i wanan build another ele at a later time.
Met a guy the other night while running my warrior back through Nolani collecting the bonuses i had missed, and this guy offered me a free run to toa after discussing things that annoyed us in GW and i brought up the villany spam in LA and the lack of people going there over the trade spam. so when we were done (was like 4 am at the time) he got me to ToA and also got a few of his friends from online and helped me do the Villany quest.

The nice people ... my guild, RtR, for making GW fun for me again several months ago when I joined them, being already bored from GW.
People from a couple other guilds that I've had some great HoH runs with ... people that are nice, fun, and just cool and relaxed on vent. It doesn't take much effort to be nice to others, but it creates such a great atmosphere and is much more fun for everyone. After hearing so many idiots start yelling "OMG you let hero die OMGWTFN00Bs!!", you appreciate people that say : "relax, Hero will res in 1 minute, and then we'll cap the relic, just keep the [relic carrier] alive" ... it is clear what kind of team has more success AND fun. Some people seem to be treating PvP in GW as their jobs, so frustrated they get over it .
I'm sometimes in mood to be nice myself (scary, but happens) ... sometimes I go to ascalon and give nice weapons away to people that clearly seem like newbies (its obvious by the way they advertise their green dye or such ^^), it's just so much fun to see them get excited about that fiery dragon sword or stormbow .

I have encountered many nice people from within the game, supplying me with tips, gold, and weapons throughout. I have done the same... Karma people, KARMA
I have started and left two Guilds handing them over to the person in the Guild who I thought deserved it the most (Once with a Guild Hall).
But the nicest person I have met is the person who introduced me to this addictive game, and gave me all the starting tips every noob needs.
People are always more nice to me when I'm playing with my Drokner's Fissured Tattoo Armour Female Monk.... I cannot figure out why

The nicest person I met on GW is a N/Me. We met pre-searing when we were about lvl 7 and I traded him a yellow dye. I asked 150g, he offered 80 or something, anyway we were busy haggling until we got to 112g and had a good laugh Then we went across the wall to try our hand at charr hunting, to try reaching lvl 8 before going through the searing. I guess I'll never forget how it felt to die within 3 seconds by rushing into our first ever group of charr We had a great time chatting, laughing, going back each and every time to resurrect my pet... We've quested and missioned together since, always check first if the other person's online whenever we get on, started mailing and have actually become friends. Yes, nice people in GW exist!
So this one's for you matey, you're great!

For me the only reason i still play the game is purely a result of the people on it. I have got to know many people and also had good times playing with people i'll never see again. There best people i've found are those that dont take it too seriously (it is a game after all!) and are willing to give you there time and help. Thanks to them

Personal: A few months back when I first started, when I frst got to Beacon's Perch [was lvl 15] my brother and I partied with some people who were lvl 20 and we went out into lornar's and ate enemies up and made big XP and I thought it was amazing. One of the people then helped me with some northern shiver q's and gave me a nice gold monk staff, it was my first gold item ever.
To a guildie of mine today: some guy wanted someone to do frost gate with him, so my friend did, and at the end of it gave him a total of 130k in gold. For no reason whatsoever.
Aren't people great?

I was going to run two guild mates of mine from Ascalon to Beacon's Pearch for free, and we had one spot left for our four man team out of Ascalon, so I posted that I'd do the run for free for the first person who added themself to our team. I completed the run to beacons, and the guy we took with us gave me a green staff as payment when I told him I'd do the run for free.
Also, I go to Fissure a lot with groups, and Underworld a lot two man, and usually just grab a random necro in ToA for the two man. Once in a while, the group leader, or the partner I go with will fully pay for the run even when I offer to pay my share.

I rarely add people to my friends list. The nicest people who I do quests with get added so I can quest with them in the future - and everyone in my guild is great (as I know them in my 'real' life). Anyone who doesn't take the game too seriously is nice.

The nicest person I met recently was one I ran through the Divinity Coast bonus. I was having just as much trouble completing the bonus as the rest of the people there, until I figured out exactly where all the Chosen were. Made the first successful run with henchies just to make sure I could do it.
Once I completed it (and found out it was easy), I went back to Divinity Coast looking for others who were having problems with the bonus and offered to run them through it for free (not that I specifically stated I would do it for free, but I felt that was implied). Got invited into a group and ran them through, except for one person who got disconnected about a minute or so away from finishing the mission. Everyone said thanks, went on their way, and I went back to the Coast to run another group through.
After I got back and started offering to help again, I got a whisper from someone asking, "Remember me?". It was the person who had gotten disconnected. I was invited to the group and ran them through, this time all of them.
Off to Druid's Overlook, gg, thx, glad I could help, bye. Was about to go back, when a trade window popped up from this person I had now twice run through the bonus. Wanted to give me 1K because I "deserved compensation".
I didn't ask nor expect compensation, but someone felt I deserved it. I thought that was nice.

I was hanging out in ToA the other day, trying to sell a Wroth's Holy Rod. Well, a ranger guy comes up to me, and asks about it. We chat a little bit, and I end up selling to him for 3k. Well, we continue to talk and I asked why he bought the rod, because looking at the stats it didn't really seem to be a great find to me. I told him how I got jipped in the trade where I originally had gotten it, and he asks if I wanted more money for it, and that he'd pay what I asked. Not often you find someone like that.

haahha, one day,was really bored,so i decided to give a full team a free run to droks, sadly, all but 1 of them were 20,and never heard of droknars,so i decided to buy them theirs,i bought 2 monks asthetics(im really so tired, sorry for mispell)and warriors gladiator, knight, and platemail...they were so happy,im just glad that they didnt go through the game,as others did going to droknars lvl 1...

to be honest -- either i've been lucky or it's just the case that we tend to read more about the bad players, i must say that in the time i've played GW, the good far weights the bad.
just some of the good / nice people that i've played with:
1. the ranger who told me where to get the last piece of collector armor in pre-sear back when i was a newb -- without him, i'd have never found it.
2. the leader of the team who managed to help us all through Thirsty River the first time -- he knew what he was doing, the rest of us did not. unlike many people, he did not yell: "Newb, STFU and follow what i say" rather, he actually talked to us and told us the reasons behind what we needed to do. we managed to get through the mission the 2nd time.
3. the group of 18-20th level pre-ascension who tried to run through Lornar. this was before any of us got sophisticated on the builds. we spent 3+ hours suffering in -60% dp but we had fun. no one cursed each other out -- despite the death and the impossibility of our goal we had fun.
Though I don't remember the names of the above characters, I thank them for their patience and random kindness.

Like someone said before i dont think nice necessarily means that you give away items. They could be filthy rich in which case thats like me giving away 10g.
I think one of the nicest things to do is stay on in a mission even though you only needed the bonus and thats already been done. Peaople have done that for me and I've done it for others.
Oh and also giving the first timers 50g to open their storage.
nice touch.

I met a super nice fellow and later found out it was my future self!
Wow, I become such a nice, and ridiculously handsome man later on.

Holy thread necromancy Batman!
I like helping people in FoW get to the forge if they want armor. Maybe a mission or two too, that's as nice as I get these days. Was different in earlier years.
Rhedd didn't even notice. He's also lying.

A lot of people. For example. I'm mentioning names BTW. Protimus The Great. Always been there to help and give advice on something. All my friends. Please Mind The Gap. Who has gave me a free green dagger(Shiros blades)until I finish the factions campaign and get them. and has helped me A LOT in achieving max armor. My guild and my alliance for helping out. I've been given about 2 free greens by people. I don't remember their names.

I would say one of the NICEST people I have met would be Alana Raine. She helped me when I came back from GW after a 1.5 year break (of WoW... much regret there). She let me into her guild, and soon befriended me. Too bad the guild disbandanded and I haven't talked to her since :[

Perhaps there really is a shortage of nice people in GW.
Zeek Aran
Someone gave me an elite mesmer tome... then the build they used to farm it. :3 I made so much gold that week. Then got bored and farmed somewhere else.

I'm nice. But people usually don't appreciate it.

I know quite a few nice people. Me and a friend started a guild, My friend started recruiting people (quite a lot were low level and not very knowledgeable) However he recruited one person, Kuratzu was his ign (Not gonna put his full name) and he ran Gate Of Pain for me, helped me with builds and was a really good guy. Unfortunately he kinda stopped playing, i still have him on my friends list tho
Also, whilst in HA I was running Sway and had a good time with the guys on vent. One person showed me the /dance * emote and then, when we were talking about work/school told me a bout a really cool experiment! He added me to his friends and said that even though I am unranked I was a good player. He added me to his friends and he still invites me to HA teams now and again! I love GW :P

Nicest people for me are the people who have fun with me in the game, not really giving me things, like my guildies.
Silly Warrior
Lol, like looking into the past!
And its hilarious when people bring these olds threads back, but its still valid.
I've met alot of very fun and friendly people since starting to play...too many to name!

Actually, this thread can be found at the bottom if you read the "dumbest scams" thread. I thought about rezzing it, but was too lazy ^_^
When I was new to GW, a level 8-ish or so person helped me with the first ascalon quests, explained the game basics, the /bonus command and stuff like that. It was months and months ago, though.

May be old, but there're always people complaining about others posting topics that have already been posted. :P
Anyway, current leader of my guild's a darlin', as are quite a few people in it.
Otherwise, a person (who shall remain nameless :P) in my old guild, who ebayed gold, gave everyone (small guild at the time), 150k each, and bought me Prophecies. I asked for neither, mind you, the person was very insistant about it.

The nicest people I know in game are my guild mates. Some are quiet some are more vocal but all are good people who enjoy playing GW. I consider myself lucky to have such people in our guild.

I meet a lot of nice people and a lot of jerks, 50/50. Nice people to me are people ,you can have a normal conversation with or play a nice quest/mission with(without them leaving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! .

I asked someone to lend me 50g for storage for my new toon in Shing Jea, and that person thought I was a beginner and he/she (dont remember lol) gave me 5K, but I didn't take it, I ask for 50g instead. He/she doesn't accept back my 50g too, very nice person.
Tamuril elansar
erhm, i give my friend lockpicks sometimes and they give me lockpicks sometimes, part from that, i never get anything from anybody^^
Schroedinger
A gent named "Blood Cypher" (May be something else, I don't remember precisely) stepped out of Pre-Searing AC to get me the Adventure with and Ally Quest.
I had done the same thing for another guy a moment before, but forgot to tell him I needed the quest too, so he warped in, got the reward, said thank you, and warped out before I could talk to Lina.
