Server Speed Feedback Needed

Took 10 minutes to even get this far, dreading how long it will take for this to post. All times GMT are epic slow (I typically try from around midday to 8pm though), to the point where I abanadon trying to look for anything here.

This is what its like for me in the morning (when I'm usually on), but it's ok at night.

The site's been slow for me too, excruciatingly slow today especially, but there is no call for insulting the people who run this service. If you can do a better job then why don't you open up your own GW website and lets see how well its run.

Perhaps you didn't mean to be rude, just frustrated by the slow loads, but give these guys a break ...

The auctions take at most 5 seconds to load for me, and the site about the same. I'm still GMT+1. Definitely faster than... 9 days ago.

I'd like you to know that MMOGuru runs sites for multiple games, and the servers aren't cheap. The ad revenue helps, but this is not making anyone rich. Also the moderators and admins (who have the same loading issues you do) are not paid for the time they put in here. There are many fansites available for Guild Wars, no one is forcing you to come here, feedback is fine, disrespect is unnecessary.

guru is slow all the time, the slowest website I have ever encountered and it has always been this way. This thread makes me laugh cause nothing has ever changed.

Last night was especially slow. Had to refresh each page several times in order for it to just show. In fact, I tried to leave feedback here but got lagged out so many times I gave up. I kept getting this message "The connection to the server was disrupted" or something like that. Now its ok but 12 hours ago it was terrible

sometimes the site works fine and fast (like now) other times it completely lags out for minutes at a time or come up with those data base errors. Not sure what is causing it, but I agree it is very annoying

Im still getting major slow loading and its worse when replying to a post - long delay then i get the message that i have to wait between posting even tho its my first post/reply and a few times ive hit post reply and i see the thread reloaded ( after a few mins ) and my post hasnt even gone thru.
As for servers being slow - is there such a thing as slow servers , only thing i recall that affects server speed can be bandwidth and webhosts capping it when its too much but that doesnt explain why some folks have decent loading and others slow.
I do feel sorry for the staff who have loading probs as it affects them replying to posts

still slow. though I have noticed that it is faster when I just go to a forum (like ventaris or Q&A) than when I pick an individual thread in that forum----the later takes many times longer.
Have also been noticing that not logging in makes it move a little faster, however; the past week or so has just been bad altogether....I give up after a few minutes (sometimes I will try to post and it doesnt---thats my sign to throw in the towel).

slow as hell again - 15 mins of white pages and 1 time where i get site error , when it does load and i try and reply to a post elsewhere i get 10 mins of
This forum requires that you wait 30 seconds between posts. Please try again in 15 seconds.
I only hit post quick reply once and i kno its caused by site lag - also explains why at times theres so many dupe posts.
ive had numerous site database errors 4pm till now

I have been away for a long time.
Just visited again today for the first time in a while.
Noticed it is incredibly slow browsing through anything on this forum

Currently around 2000 users (Guest + members).
I'm a PST located user, currently 11:30am (01/13/09).

Im always used to pages taking like 20secs loading. Guru is by far the slowest loading site I know, but i keep using it because I like it, and I know it costs money to run a site thats basically free to use. Im used to click to open guru page, then go back in GW to continue chatting or whatever I do, then read guru, click next page, go back to gw etc...
Right now (denmark, CET time) its worse than usual, Im getting database error wtc.

The auction part uses to be even slower, I have simply given up using that.

ok we've enabled XCache to cache the templates and opcodes and datastore variables. Let us know if its any better now...

Same, though I didn't time it so I didn't quote that time. I'm wondering about the speed too. It's abnormally slow for the amount of information it uses.
