Unhappy with your character name, but don't want to lose your time and energy?

I think you should be able to change your name at a maximum of 3 times for a fee. Like it's been said friends/ignore/guild, etc is linked to the account as deleted characters stay on friends/ignore/guild. Also I agree on changing hair and colour but height is a very weird thing to just "change" same for skin colour unless you go tan or stay out of the sun and de-tan.

Perhaps a game event for the hair and colour thingie that opens up a small screen for your hair style and colour.

And please add more options in character variation or combine ALL of them. Who's to say you aren't tyrian born but was sent to cantha to study as a child therefore you start there but look like a tyrian? Cmon Mhenlo anyone???

Always wanted to change the name of my main character but I would never delete it, cause it's the character with most things unlocked/ more time played/ more titles/ weapons/ armor/ etc...

About your friends keeping track of you, well it's simple.. the new name could be in brackets just like you were with another character...

If it happens, then it should be limited to only once every few months, or cost a fee to do: £2.50 or £5.00 to discourage over use.

Otherwise we end up with people abusing the ignore system to agro people.

I totally completely and absolutely 100% agree this is a GREAT feature many people would LOVE!!!!

Your character's name is who you are. You shouldn't have made it the way it is if you don't like it. Like in real life, you are stuck with your name, get used to it. Plus this would mess up ALOT of things, like adding friends.

Where to people get the idea that they know the internal coding of the game? Why don't we let the developers decide if its codeable without messing up the friends/ignore list. I bet it is...

I have 11 characters on my account and some of them I did not feel like spending a lot of time coming up with a meaningful name. Once I play the character and accept I want to keep it, it was too late to go back and start over, with so much done. At the same time, I really didn't think too much about the name because, let's admit it, this ISN'T real life, and if I was naming my newborn BABY in real life, I certainly wouldn't compare it to naming my "mesmer" in a video game! In any case, I just don't see how it affects anyone else if I can do this.

What happens if you get scammed and the person changes their name?

Limit the amount of times a character can have their name changed. Maybe 2 times per character(or 10 times per account) EVER.

Suppose you name your characters Legendary_______
If that character was a necro lets say, and the _____ was druid, then in a different chapter a druid class came out you would look rather dumb.

I know for a fact this happened to many warriors witht he release of factions (assassin)

I agree with a 1 time change allowance, that way it wouldn't be abused.

In the beta weekends my friend used the name Shadow K.

He hasn't used it in nearly 2 years.

He's still identifiable in my friends list as XXX (aka Shadow K)

So that solves one of the problems brought up in the first few pages (didn't bother reading anymore).

i think this is a very good idea, i very much want to see this implemented into the game so i may change my warrior name, and every other name for that matter, i want all my cahr names to revolve around the apple core of my account

This is a very nice idea so you can cahnge names you dont want anymore I.E some ppol think "oh darnit all the names i want have been taken ill just call it Xyz Zyx" and then 6 months later after completing a campaign and having expensive armour might think "Oh, maybe Leetnoob The Best" hasnt been taking, i want this name, oh noooooo all my char slots are full and i dont want to have wasted my time effort and money and delete my char
