W/N UW Solo: Testament of Warriors
lambda the great
We got favor again and I've been up for 29 hours so I stopped at the smites and went to bed. I should have stayed back more so I would wake up to a alive Warrior.
lambda the great
Took a little more time and I cleard out the Chamber(except for the 3 dryders) all the smites I could find all the Grasping and Aatxe got to the Forgotton Vale and took this shot. ectos don't seem to like my Warrior :9 only one ecto dropped.
(Whats up with my guys flat knee?)

how hard is this compared 2 the spider run, and how is it money wise?
Nero
This in my opinion is much harder, and i'm sure Racthoh would agree.
I have tried this many times and have only made it to the smites once.
Money wise, it could be about the same i guess. Shards drop more than ectos normally so it'd probably even out in the end.

In reality, this sucks compared to FoW. When ecto were like 14k, yeah this was great. But now the value of ecto has dropped drastically. If you're in it for the hopeful golds and the challenge though then go for it.

Well I have found that this skillset works pretty well:
Attributes:
Tactics 12 + 3 (+1)
Strength 12 + 3 (+1)
rest into whatever, drop points from either strength or tactics to increase curses for enfeeble (or another attribute/skill?) if desired.
Gladiator's Defense {E}
Riposte
Deadly Riposte
Shield Stance
Bonetti's Defense
Healing Signet
Dolyak Signet
<optional slot>
For the optional slot, I've tried enfeeble and Watchful Spirit. I liked Watchful Spirit because I didn't (couldn't) spend any points in it, was an enchantment (go -2 enchant/-2 stance), and I could forget about casting (unless rended). Enfeeble I guess is the safer way to go, but there really wasn't any problems with Watchful Spirit. Also with the lack of Watch Yourself!, Watchful Spirit helps more than enfeeble (which only really hurts) against smites.
Also I think this UW run is actually less risky (like horrible skale spawns in FoW), less profitable (ectos don't drop as much, maybe because you don't kill as many mobs), and more lag prone (aataxes kill you way faster than those silly spiders).

Compared to this, the spider run is a piece of cake. The spider run can be accomplished without max armor/weapons pretty consistantly after a few tries, while this...I still havn't been able to get up to the smites.
And with shards nearing 5k and ectos down to 7k now, FoW runs seem alot more profitable

.... well i tried this and i have a few questions.
1 why the nolani wand and just not any wand?
2 the wand u have got were is it its not outside nolani cuz that has got a 10%miss chance to.
3why do i not make it? its like impossible. Ive never even made it to take out a single one.
4 can you answer?;P

1. It's the only weapon in the game with increased attack speed. It also gives +5 energy unconditional. He explains in his 1st post.
2. Collector doesn't always gives the same stats. That's also why Racthoh is saying to make sure you get the right one. You'll have to go back and go to the collector again until you get the right one.
3. This is an extremely difficult area to solo. If you wanna farm for money, there's lots of places that are much easier, don't require 1k to enter, and have a safe income. Even if you're lucky with drops, soloing UW is rather slow and very risky. That's why also the build is so demanding in equipment. Soloing UW is something you should do if you want a challenge, if you want ectos you're much better off with the typical UW duo of 55 monk/SS necro. Racthoh likes to try out things that seem impossible for a single char and he usually comes around to it
4. He can answer, but I suppose he's too busy soloing something in Cantha

Actually not responding because of database errors.
And I think mtm summed it up pretty well. If you're looking for profit, this is not the thing to do. When you could get say, 3 ectos at 14k per run, yeah this was very nice to learn. So if you're looking for a challenge, this is great. Otherwise, you should probably go elsewhere.

This was way cooler back in the day, before the buffs. Really got your heart beating then

Racthoh
If you have Factions I would recommend using Enfeebling Touch. As it is a Skill, the aatxe won't attempt to Savage Slash it and interrupt it (in the event that you can't block in any way, shape, or form for whatever reason and need to weaken it).
At least, they haven't tried it in my most recent attempt last night.

^So when do we hear about some great new solo challenge you've discovered in factions?
God's Will
Yes, when will you learn to solo the deep? rofl.
Racthoh
Until I can enter Urgoz's Warren and The Deep on my own accord, I won't be attempting anything. Call me stubborn, but I refuse to have someone 'ferry' me over so I can enter.
And Cantha is just... meh, boring. No really solo-friendly areas that would be worth the effort and I don't really consider soloing 1 boss much of a challenge...

Solo shiro'ken? Just interrupt their healing signets / refuges (in Unwaking waters).
Seems easy enough!
Seems easy enough!

that's pretty good.. seem slke i'd spend 10k.. getting use to it.. but i'll try.. it.. the thing is.. people will use the build..but they wont know how to use it right.. and they'll crash and burn..and then thing it's the stupidist build in teh world
Racthoh
In essence, it is a very stupid build. 0 in weapon mastery and you're a warrior? It just goes to show the defensive capabilities of the profession really.

Seems easy enough! thats what i thought, but when you put in Famine and that monster only Song of the Mists skill, things dont look that easy
having 5-6 monsters around u steal 20hp that often is not something u can easily live thru

^ I've not been able to do it... I give it a whirl every now and again. Song of the Mists is what gets me.

Earlier on people said about soloing the elite missions.
I'm not sure u could say that soloing this mission is easy, fair enough maybe soloing each of the bosses is easy but u have to get there first.
i see no way in which you would be able to solo 12 hopping vampires or 30 odd Maddened Dredge all of varying professions.
Anyone else agree with me.....

Ulivious The Reaper
Yeh, factions is a real snore, but i must say, i've gotten all my perfect axes and sheilds there ^.^!!! as for faming, most exciting thing there is the freakign vermin, just seeing the numbers pop up above your head is exciting, other than that it's solo boss after solo boss, rather boring and dull after you beat the game -.-

Anyone else agree with me..... Working on it, easy enough to run past the hopping llifestealers and energydrainers without a single hit and lose aggro, try it. Possible enough to take on the dredge with a number of builds if it wasnt for that pesky ritualist. Lost my place in Urgoz to continue testing, made 3-4 test runs only, but if you are able to get into a free spot and pick your mobs it would be possible, its easy to evade the big 30+ mob btw.
As to Shirokens, they are tankable solo (only talking about the unwaking waters group here, mesmers monks and ritualists in raisu), however to kill them is entirely another matter, best to start here as raisu is a totally other league. A hell of alot of utility skills are required on your second man to begin to break them down and so far Ive found it really slow work, more testing.
Damn, forgot what the thread was really about, sorry to go off-topic.

I know that you guys are talking about another thing and all, but ihave one question about the original build for soloing UW.
First i think you guys should know that i NEVER tried it and i'm still beggining to solo FoW Spiders, so i'm no expert soloing player. At least not yet. But i do love solo farming and creating builds to do it, so i thought of something that might work and i want some experienced opinion. I don't know if anyone had already tried it, but in this topic i didn't found anything.
It's pretty simple, the original build relies on blocking every attack and soak with high defense the dmg of the attacks that bypass the blocking, simple theory. What i'm going to propose isn't a skill set of my creation, i was just thinking of using it in UW.
Skills:
Healing Signet
Gladiator's Defense (E)
Whirlwind (Or any KD skill of your choice with fast recharge and cast.)
"On Your Knees!"
Dolyaks Signet
(Optional)
(Optional)
(Optional)
Yes, that's the Perma-Glads build. The first build damaged enemys attacking you in melee, this one does the same and at least theorically i think it's simpler and safer. Those (Optional) skills aren't really THAT optional, you should base them on the skills of the original build, bringing things like "Watch Yourself!", Bonneti's Defense and Shield Stance. I would recommend Shield Stance for an emergency and both Ripostes to speed up the Smiters killing.
The use is simple. Aggro, hit Shield Stance, Dolyaks, wand the buggers for adrenal, use Ripostes, hit Glads and Whirlwind asap, enemies on the ground "On your Knees!", remember that this skills burns all your Adrenal. Repeat the process, after the first use keep Shield Stance recharged for an emergency. Yeah, i know, Savage Slash and all, but if you keep Deadly Riposte for the right moment you can just hit Whirlwind and just after that you hit Deadly Riposte so you'll have a 100% guaranteed block and i think that would be enough to counter a lucky Savage Slash bypassing Glads.
So, what do you guys think? I know, in theory everything is pretty and that's why i'm posting this here. I don't even have the necessary equipment to go there and i'm at work and just thought about this. Don't know if it will work at all.

*sigh*
Gawayne, the problem is more so the amount of damage they do even with Watch Yourself and Dolyak Signet. It is a fair amount, especially when they hit through when you're using Healing Signet. There are times, even when I'm doing it, that they hit too many times in a row and as a result Deep Wound on top of the Bleeding damage is too much. The plus that would be, like any of the builds that don't require weakness, is that the smites become easier since you'll have an extra skill against them.
I found speccing Earth Magic to 8, and using Armour of Earth over weakness was the best alternative to weakness. However, it requires you know where the Dying Nightmare spawn to avoid the Rend Enchantments.
