+40% axe better than HoD?
kade
was wondering people's thoughts on this...is the extra +20% better in general than +5 energy? ...seems so to me, wondering how this will affect HoD sword prices...

Any chance on getting a location on this axe?
kade
gotten from ascalon quest...scavengers of ascalon from Tydus...apply 2 +20% mods and poof +40% axe

it's the quest reward axe from the "Scavengers In Old Ascalon" quest. you can add 2 axe grips of enchanting to it, and yes it indeed stacks. no idea how or if it will effect HoD sword prices, but I think this is way more beneficial than the sword.

So no, it's not better in general and it will not affect the HoD Sword prices. |
Sir Skullcrasher
so would this axe be worth ton of golds once A-Net nerf it?

I think the final +44% longer enchants far outweights +5 energy for a 55hp monk. Now add Blessed Aura and then Arcane Echo Shield of Judgement

CHEATS!
Anyway.. It's not from the Old Scavanger in Ascalon quest, I got something totally different a 6-16 Piercing Axe with +25 Health and Dmg +15% (vs. Charr).
Anyone with the correct location?

That IS the axe Maxie. The +25 health acts like an 'invisible' fortitude grip (Charrslaying is the visible one), adding one axe grip of enchanting replaces the Charrslaying grip, adding another axe grip of enchanting replaces the 'invisible' +25 health one, giving you double enchanting mods.

Ummm.... yeah.... screenshots, anyone? I'd like to see pictures of each step in the process.

Process? You do the quest, its an axe of fortitude with a charr slaying attribute too (so 2x suffix). Add the first enchant mod and it overwrites the charr slaying (axe still says of fortitude). Add the second enchant and it overwrites fortitude.

In case anyone here is unaware, capitalist is well-known on these boards. His screenie confirms it for me. Thanks, capitalist.

I have one too (only a 38%), so if anyone doubts the legitimacy still, feel free to message me ingame, and I'll show you mine (as long as I'm not busy...).
Not sure why I have one, but I know guildies of mine have 10+ each... I hope they stay how they are when they get nerfed, and don't revert to normal operation.

If these 2 mods are stacking on top of each other, this means you could get, for example, a 30up/1down Obsidian Flesh. Ouch.
heist23
and then there's spellbreaker. 21 seconds of absolutely no spell damage with 2 perfect mods.....
interesting.
interesting.
snapp
just to let you know....it has begun lol :P
just saw this in Ascalon

They haven't removed the -50 items so I doubt they'll remove these axes either. Seems only the craftables get nerfed.

OMG the 40% + blessed aura = 70% enchatments boosts *faint*
koneko
Nerfbat in 3...2...1...
People should be able to still modify these to +40% if/when they are removed, correct? I mean, people can modify the HoD swords...

omg another idea ...with 40% longer enchatmetns u could have infinte IW woaah not that it means anything but woah!!

Damn, every day one of those seemingly worthless quest rewards turns out to be a goldmine. I'm making a new PvE char and hoarding them
Hockster
Enchantment grip prices have shyrocketed, obviously. Probably better off just hanging on the the axes for the time being. I'm not paying 75K for a 20% grip.

Exactly what my farmer is now carrying. Word to the wise: DON'T buy 2 cheaper axe grips thinking you can later overwrite them. You get one shot at putting the 2 grips on. You do it again and the 1 new grip overwrites BOTH old grips. I wasted 20k like that, lol.
Triple Evel
A smiple Question cuz i need that axe ....
where can i take the quest with this reward axe ... which quest is it !?

Tydues - Scavengers in Old Ascalon. Then you will need to buy 2 axe grips of enchanting. I suggest at least 18%. Put them on one right after the other. Voila! +xx% enchanting. VERY overpowered prot monk weapon. I predict we will be seeing these in GvG and Tombs.
fallot
If it impacts PvP at all this is going to be nerfed very fast. Enjoy them while you can.

if you have two of the same grips already on there and you go to replace one of them with another of the same then it will overwrite both not just one, you were able to aviod it as you had two different mods and replace one.
if you now have to forititude mods and you try and put another fortitude mod on it then you will lose the +22 and +12. If you put a defensive or other type of mod it will only overwrite the +12

quick question, can u do this same thing with the axe that has +10% adrenaline?
Hockster
Supposedly you can add a second adrenaline to that axe. Guildie apparently saw one.
