Hello. I played guild wars factions regularly around two years ago, then quit to play other games because I had gotten bored after maxing out my main character.
Well, now i'm back because a group of my friends started playing guild wars again, so I decided to join this forum. Now i've outleveled all my friends and need more stuff to
do - i'm buying nightfall and EotN and they should be here in a few days.

Never posted here, so I probably should now.
Been playing since about a month after release. If it can be done, I've probably done it. Notable exceptions are acquiring a mini Kanaxai, acquiring an unconditional weapon, cape trim and a phoenix.
You're most likely to see me online during special events where there are Gamer points to be had. Otherwise, I'm probably vacillating between PvP and boredom.
I may play some more PvE once SF gets blown up, if there's room for some originality again. I like finding the optimal way to accomplish the task in PvE, but I quickly get bored once that has been identified. Looking forward to playing some goofy bars after the next update.

Hi All, I habe been playing GW for about 8 to 9 months now, totally addicted to it still. But I am also looking forward to GW2 due to the fact that I want to be in it from the beginning.
While all the details about GW is fun it is also very fun to come up with things yourself.
My first character and I think still my favorite is my necro, but my Ranger is getting more playtime the last couple of months.
I really liked prophecies, nightfall and gwen. Dislike factons so far I can't stand the kaineng part.

Grav
Evening all,
the name's Grav. My "main" would be my warrior whom I originally wanted to name Ox after the big dumb army lug from The Simpsons, but such a short name wasn't allowed. So my brother suggested Grav Ox, since it sounded a bit like Gravy Ox. Some of my other characters' names also begin with Grav, so Grav it is.
I first got into GW maybe around a year and a half ago now. Coming from Eve Online (which I still play), I was looking for something that I could play solo, didn't have a monthly sub, and offered a little more in the way of instant gratification. Oblivion did the trick for a while, but kinda got easy towards the end. A couple of friends had dabbled with GW in the past, so finally I took the plunge and did the same, picking up Prophecies. By the time I'd completed Proph I was hungry for more so I bought the trilogy last year and EoTN a couple of months later.
Given how team-oriented Eve is I tend to play GW solo for the change, so I'm still a bit noobish on many parts of the game; never tried any elite areas at all, still finding HM a challenge but am starting to get the hang of it, thanks mostly to the advice here. So thanks everyone. o7

Hi there. I actually signed up here a couple of years ago, but forgot about it when I stopped playing GW due to work schedules... Er... What to say?
Well, I've been playing guild wars for about 4 years. I have Prophecies, Factions and GW:EN, and am getting Nightfall soon (if I get spare cash). I had a lv20 R/E about the do the ascension missions, a lv11 N/R near the end of the Monestary missions, and a few other characters that I started but haven't done much with yet. :P
I'll be honest and say that I've never been in a successful guild, with the only one having 4 people in it for about a month then disbanding (not my guild). And I prefer PvE over PvP, because I suck at PvP. Er.... With my R/E i've never team up with anyone except henchmen because I'll too shy to do a PuG or anything like that out of the blue. ^_^;;
Anyway, I think that's enough. So, yeah, hi there.

Hi everyone, I've had Guild Wars for about 2 years but have only started playing it with much intent for the past 8 months. I've been lurking around GWG and the wiki for much of that time navigating the learning curve and thought it was about time I joined. I play an E/Mo and a Mesmer; I'm going for Defender of Ascalon on the latter, which is a lot of fun. I've only recently gotten the expansions. I like the music in NF and think that whoever thought up dwarven brawling deserves a medal. I seriously love the Fronis Irontoe dungeon.
Tanith
It appears I've never posted in this thread, so I'll remedy that now.
My name is Tanith, and I've been playing GW since its launch in 2005. In the last couple of years my playing had slowed up a bit since I got into another game, but the War in Kryta campaign has renewed my interest in the game...and I'm happily rediscovering why I loved it so much in the first place.
I lead a small, semi-active guild called Guardians of the Vault [GotV] which is part of my website's network-wide guild. We've gone through two name changes and many incarnations, but we're still the same core group of players.
This is an exciting time to be a Guild Wars fan, no?

Hello everyone!
I'm Angela, a 20-year-old gamer girl living in Utah, USA with my beautiful wife (who is also a gamer girl) Jen. We started playing Guild Wars in 2005, took a break in late 2006 and are just now coming back. Our Tyrian spirit is being renewed because of Guild Wars 2. ^_^
I enjoy gaming, being a geek, traditional and digital art (I am working on becoming a professional artist,) shopping, photography, blogging, surfing the web, caffeine, smoking mine and Jen's hookah and much much more!

Hiya, Legend checking in.
Been playing Guild Wars since January of this year. Been playing MMO's for 10 years now. Started with Asheron's Call and have played everything in between.
I have a Warrior/Monk and Ranger/Monk, both have beaten Prophecies and Eye of the North, both working on Nightfalls.

Greetings. I just started playing Guild Wars a few weeks ago. Needless to say, I'm hooked.
I'm playing a warrior with Canthan armor, solo right now and just learning the ropes. I've made a few blunders like salvaging good armor by accident, which has cost a bit of gold.
Anyway, I've got some warrior runes and insignias, but I'm taking a beating in the Bloodstone Fen Mission right now. I usually walk an area first and take down some baddies. The Maguma Warriors are just not going down.
Drops are decent around here, but I'm low on gold for Maguma Keys.
It's all good - I'll walk it a few more times and give it another go.
Cheers,
VB

Just wanted to say hello to everyone. I've been playing GW a bit here and there since release, but only recently spent more than an hour or two every few months into the game.
I'm currently a level 14 A/MO as of this post, about half way through 14.
I actually heard about this forum through Shawn and Rubi on Guildcast, as I'm sure many have, so someone buy them a yoohoo! I decided to come onto a forum for this game as there really isn't much chatter in game.
I have a lot of questions about the game and have basically just leveled solo with mercs from the towns. The game feels like it would be a lot more fun with groups of real people (and a lot less frustrating), and due to the lack of people actually looking for groups with lower level players, and the lack of chatter overall, a forum seems to be the place to find a decent guild, a good group to level with, and basically any other info I might need. So thanks to you guys for providing this awesome resource and the community involved.

Hi everyone.
I'm back from a like, two year hiatus from the game. When I played it a lot, I mainly progressed through joining parties with random people, but now, I'd like to get through the game with some members from here. That might be asking a bit too much since I know the game's been out for about five years, but I really like Guild Wars and want to make the most of it before GW2 is out.
I don't really have any friends that still play either so I'm a bit stuck. :/
Anyway, I'm currently using a level 15 E/Me in Factions that I made a couple of days ago. Her name is Cressida Astra if you'd like to play with me.

Um... hi! This is miss, and she isn't very good with introductions, unfortunately.
Never been a big MMO player, but her younger brother got her into this by letting her play as a character in an extra character slot he wasn't using. She's really new to this whole MMO thing and well... isn't used to games that sort of mandate having social interactions, as she can be a little awkward, even in a more virtual setting!
Played as an Elementalist/Mesmer, but only got up to level 9 before deciding that I am going to buy the game for myself and make a character and such that are all my own without worrying about my brother's interference.
I know I am way late to this particular party, but... I was hoping to maybe make some new friends who'd maybe not mind helping out a new person to the world of MMOs? I'd really appreciate it!
I joined this forum because I figured it would be a good way to meet new people and make new friends for the game... I'm probably going to start off with Prophecies and go from there... um... thank you?
~miss
P.S. I will edit this with my first character's name as soon as I finish getting my own account set up. Thank you again!

Moa Bird Cultist
Well, it's been a while, Guru, hasn't it? I figured since it's been 2 years or so since I last posted that the best thing I could do would be to reintroduce myself. So, here's the dirt.
I play PvE exclusively and am a casual player.
I presently have 32/50 on my HoM.
I play to have fun and enjoy running builds that are sub-standard, but creative.
I've been playing since 2005. I stopped in 2008 and came back 2 months ago, just before the big HoM reveal
I live in the UK, but eat, sleep, work and play on East Coast time.
That should do it. IGNs are Rena Sapphireblade, Krysten Riega, Evil Aimee, Mina Sunfire and Luserina Stormblade. Nice to meet everyone thats new and to everyone else, it's good to be back.

Malganis
I have been playing for almost a year, since December 2009. I prefer to play PvE. My favorite campaign is Eye of the North and I do the zaishen missions and zaishen bounties almost every day. I am the guild leader and alliance leader.
Malganis Frostmourn - My male necro and my first character. He started in Prophecies and has since finished all four campaigns. He earned the nickname "Squishy Necro" after dying 5 times on the way to Raven's Point one day in Hard Mode. I usually run him as a /monk for the ability to rez others, but 9 out of 10 times, he's the one taking the dirt nap and needing the rez. Since I switched him to an AotL build, he survives a lot better, but I use Spiteful Spirit, Feast of Corruption, and Icy Veins builds too when there are no corpses.
Tyrande Shadowind - My female ranger and second Prophecies character. I made her because I saw a friend playing with a pet and thought that would be fun. She also has finished all four campaigns. She usually runs as a mesmer secondary with Physical Resistance as a stance, and Epidemic to spread bleeding and poison around to other foes.
Syrande Shadowind - My female mesmer/monk, and third Prophecies character. I made this one simply to get more skills for my Gwen and Ogden heros, but she ended up being a lot of fun to play. She is the twin sister of Tyrande. They were separated during the Searing and have yet to find each other again. She has finished 2 of the 4 campaigns. She has yet to set foot in Factions because I dont like Kaineng City.
Chesseck Longmaster - My male monk/ritualist, and first Factions character. Monks are always tough to find for missions, so I thought I would create one and take on that role. Let me tell you, I have a new appreciation for all the hard work a monk does to keep everyone alive in Hard Mode. Respect your monks, people. They deserve your praise. He has finished all campaigns but Nightfall. When I'm by myself, he runs the standard spirit build, but goes healing when playing with others.
Victoria Sparrows - My female paragon/warrior, and first Nightfall character. I was trying to make her a survivor, but unfortunately she died for the first time at level 19 to a mob of Charr outside of Gunnar's Hold. She has finished only Eye of the North.
Daphne Scythebane - My female dervish/necro. I dont understand why people say dervish's suck and need an update. I love playing as my dervish. I have all 5 forms unlocked and can pick whichever one I need for the situation. After playing midline or backline characters before, getting up close to the enemy as a frontliner is quite a shock. She is a secondary necromancer and will sometimes raise minions to help her slice'n'dice. Otherwise she just brings Weaken Armor to make it easier for her scythe to take down foes. She has not finished any campaigns yet.
Zora Squishyblade - My female assassin/ranger, and second Factions character. I named her squishy as a tribute to my necromancer. She is a ranger secondary, and carries a bow along with the skill Disrupting Accuracy to interrupt foes with ease. She has not finished any campaigns.
I live in the Pacific Time Zone, and am on almost every day in the evening. Feel free to whisper me if you want to join up and go tackle a mission or quest.

Also a Hi from me.
I'm always on Guru for the new GW news for the 3,5 years i play. But never made a account here.
Im playing a lot of GW and got on 1 account my HoM full. Now im doing it on a other account and try to max out some titles on my main. My main chars are monk and a necro.
I love the new WiK and other new stuff. I like the costumes that came out and got them all. Now i hope the 7 hero party will come soon. Not because i hate playing with real players... i do. But the WiK 3 wanted farm is so mutch better with my own heroes.
I have been in a few guilds and always left after a few weeks/months because people like to swear. and i don't like it. So after 3 years me and my family/friends started our own guild. And i wish we did it years ago.
I can say more but i don't. just wanted to say: Hi! and my English typing is not that good.

Hello to you all. I started playing GW a few days now and decided to sing up in guildwarsguru.
djemonk
I've been playing for a couple of months now, and I'm really enjoying the game. I have all of the campaigns and can't say that I enjoy one over the others ... they're all interesting and different in their own way. This forum has been very helpful while I've been navigating through some of the intricacies of the game and I've gotten some good ideas on some advanced topics from reading these threads.
I've tried a couple of character classes, but I keep coming back to Warriors. I guess I just like being up front in the thick of things. Right now, my two main characters are "Da Hof" and "El Dudemeister", both warriors. I hope to turn one of them (a W/Mo) into a runner who can complete the infamous Drok's Run, but I'm not there yet. My wife plays, and she's becoming quite good at playing an Elementalist, so we work well together. We're both really into the PvE and not so much into PvP yet, but we may go down that road one day.
I joined the [BEER] guild, but it seems that most people left so I imagine I'll find another guild at some point in the future. I miss the entertaining chatter by the other people in the guild.

God Of Phwoar
Hey. i'm Jack, or God Of Phwoar. First played guildwars in 2005, played for about 2 years and just started playing up again. Only been on these forums a few minutes already, so active and so much going on. Sorta feel like I'm having more fun routing around the forums than actually playing the game ^^ Anyways, nice to meet all of you.

GW veteran and forum newbie here. Given how much I love the game, I’m still not sure why it’s taken me this long to sign up for a forum...
