CONFIRMED: Icy Dragon Sword

I guess I'm a lucky one. I went to get a IDS and on the first run I got one. Our group did about six runs and that was the only drop. IMO its not a great sword... it's blue.

I would have bought one after five runs.... Your stick-to-itiveness is better than mine.

I disagree. This isn't a collector's item, and it's very unusual that a specific group of monsters would be the only ones to drop an item permanently (other than the greens).

I would guess this is a Christmas-isolated event and likely these monsters will drop normal items after the Christmas update is over.

But that's pure speculation on my part.

I've done 28 runs since last night, 12 with a party and 16 solo with my warrior and not a single sword dropped.

I made a couple of PUG runs last night - no swords dropped - but I ended up feeling lucky. I've been spending too much solo farming time lately and - maybe I was just lucky - but landed in two really skilled and friendly groups. It was fun to joke and talk -- and also satisfying to breeze through the mobs. One of the five-man teams was especially talented. With all the talk of bad PUGs, it was fun to be in some good ones.

Holy crapola - that's some bad luck. I did two solo runs last night, and one dropped on my first run. I'm starting to rethink redoing the run, since it takes a while to get each one done and the rewards are starting to dwindle.

would any1 help me out and post the skills to solo farm with a warrior?

Dolyak signet+watchyourself+elemental resistance + sprint + healing signet / there the essentials, the rest you can fill with what you want but i like to bring eviscerate, executioners strike and shield stance

We just got to the warp to mineral springs in my first run and I already got lazy and bored. I quit and decided to buy one =\

I need to apologize for my previous post to anet and all posters under this listing.

I made 3 runs last night with groups got one for myself and one for my friend. Someone was also nice enough to walk outside ad show to me so I knew it was real. I am now just very curious as to whether this is permanent edition, has been here all along, or will fade soon. (Shocking Dragon would RULE) Sorry for doubting and being a negative nancy.

I tried this out and it works well, didn't get a drop, and it was tough getting through places to get to them, but you will never die. I used Hundred Blades/Final Thrust/Savage Slash, and I might try using Mantra of Frost instead of Elemental Resistance next time.

Lord Mendes mentioned about them being related to having favour, Korea had favour when I soloed, maybe he is on to something?

Well, with platemail + the skills i said running near constantly your health should barely move, ice spear does 3-4 damage and mind freeze, malestrom etc do 0 damage but mantra of frost is good to i guess

can u also tell me the attribute points distribution? should i use any sup runes besides vigor? i'm really bad with warrior and mele chars in general so i appologise for the noob questions due to my lack of knowledge

Umm, im not on my char atm but i think i had 12 tactics for a 10 sec shout, 12 strength and maybe 10-11 axe with 4 in inspiration so the resistance lasts longer, i had all plate except ascalon helm for reduction
