Game update: December 20

Does that mean I can now get a 20% enchant mod for my low-damage serpent axe I was hoping to use as IW weapon without having to spend a fortune on them?

Here, let me bold that I DID say it was an exploit.

Now that I've made you look stupid, anything else?
Asrial
I'm absolutely AMAZED at the stupidity of people.
Even I got suckered into the trap of 'hoping it stays', when I created an axe with +10 armor.
Do you people REALLY think this was an intended aspect of the game? That there would be a small amount of hidden items with double upgrades allowed? Little secrets to be discovered?
Unless you're an amazing dumb ****, you KNEW this item was going to be examined by A-Net when you started on the path of acquiring and modifying it.
..and now you cry foul when the ERROR was fixed within several days of it being made known to the public?
Please avoid the gene pool.
Rule of thumb. Don't gamble unless you can afford to lose it.

This is why you don't post any of your good little secrets you figure out on a forum.

Perhaps it was just an issue of incompetant people on your staff without the skills to implement such a change? I seriously doubt it is though, just another example of your apathetic approach to "improvements".
Bravo Rhuobhe !!
I wonder why your post wasnt squashed?
Anyway...thank you anet...GW is uninstalling at this very moment. I am not going to recover 200k...
Although I could sell the 20/20 Rockmolders....hhhmmmmm...nah that wouldnt be fair...what if the buyer entered a $100,000 GW tourney vs a player with a 20/10?

Oh wow, its amazing how attached people get to their bugged items... little do they know GW actualy has a story... and quests...

Here's how I look at it, when people were buying the axes, they were gambling. You were saying, "Hey, I can buy the axe now, pay maybe 200K for it, then when it gets nerfed, I can sell it again for like 2 million." That was your choice, you would have to be foolish not to have figured out that Anet would nerf this item, so you were obviously hoping that you could take advantage of the removal of the item to make some extra caught.
Guess what? You lost your bet.
To those who are crying for compensation, please, first off, Anet has no way of knowing how much you paid for the axe, so they can't very well just give you a bunch of money for the item. Second, nobody forced you to buy the axe, you bought it of your own free will with your own money, with full knowledge that the axe was bugged, and with full knowledge that Anet would nerf it, eventually. You have no one to blame but yourself.

My hammer was nerfed to whiteness, what does everyone mean it wasn't fixed?
In either case you can still go out and get a +20 health +15% vs. charr hammer. No word on whether 40% stacking will work, and if so, how long this one's going to be in for.
There's also a +25% vs. charr and +20 health staff outside nolani from the famed +5 e firewand collector. Any takers?

Asking for compensation for abusing an exploit is like asking for a hitman to pay you back because he was killed in the attempt.
You tried to do something you shouldn't have been able to and got caught. You invested in exploiting. They won't pay you back because the exploit was fixed. Get over it.

I don't think compensation, but at the very least, one of the mods should have remained and been salvageable. The people who got screwed were the buyers, not the sellers. The sellers can laugh all the way to the bank, the buyers get to look at a useless item in their inventory. Who's to say that one group of people is guilty and not the other? One group sought to exploit the game mechanics; one group sought to exploit other people. One group has nothing to show for it, one group is rich. Fair? Just like the Denravi weapons, those who have them can either use them at an advantage over others, or sell them for an exorbitant price. Or IWAY working with dead pets. I find it odd that some issues which clearly affect "game balance" don't seem to have much priority, while others do.

hmm there was just another update, i wonder what it did, maybe the hammers?
Klmpee
same... im curios.. i hate when thy dont post what it was about
Ajora
Probably a fix for Tombs. Everytime they update they break something in Tombs.
Just before the update whenever a map timer appeared your party menu disappeared. About to check and see if that's fixed.

Please Read:
http://www.guildwars.com/legal/user-agreement.html
Then Read: (Note rule 18)
http://www.guildwars.com/legal/user-agreement.html
Ok for those of you that dont wish to read it is illegal as in bad no cookie to use exploits, to sell exploits, heck to even mention exploits except directly to GuildWars.com. Wow.. so what does this mean? It means that they dont have to pay you back, they should ban you if you participated, and that you seem to show a lack of caring about the rules. Yea some people are just so mature. Anyway heres the info use it in anyway you would like.

Suckers, that is what you get for trying to cheat. And don't give me any of that, "I didn't know it was cheating" or "well the game allowed it". You knew it was a cheat and you used it. The uber-nerf to white was a great idea! Yeah A-net!

That 2nd update is interesting. I want to know what it is....
Inureface
ALl you people bitching about the axe "nerf". You got what was coming. You wanted to exploit a BUG, YES A DAMN BUG and you got the whiplash. The guys who bought the axe first were just as guilty, but had you decided to play fair and not buy the axe, you might not be out 100k+ right now.
Armstrong084
ok there was another update just a few minutes ago..what happened there?
Inureface
Maybe the hammer nerf? I was hoping for some christmas stuff but I guess that'll have to wait

I think this shouldnt be called a nerf at all its a fix, this was a bug you all knew it was going to be fixed and people that weren't blinded by greed knew that if you paid for this axe you would lose at least some money. Lets face it after the fix came your best chance was to be able to salvage the axe for one remaining mod.
I think the worst part that hasnt even been mentioned was the teams(and guild teams too) that went into HoH last weekend with that axe. Dispicable, one team we played was all ele's with that axe and obsidian flesh. Thank god we beat them, i'd post the guild name but we only really realized it at the end of the match and forgot the name.

I cant believe some of you are screaming and whining about compensation. Just be glad your asses weren't banned for exploiting a bug.
It was overpowered and needed to be deleted. Now stop crying and go kiss ANET'S butt instead for not banning you.

Anyone who bought the axe's knew they were exploiting the game and deserved to lose all the money they spent on them. I agree with their patch methods 100%.
