Where's the best place to find Sup Vig's

Monks with scourge healing > any other ettin farm build.

i want a sup vig... i only recently found my first major one and thats after playing since april! heh.

Last night a superior absorption dropped for me, and a req 7 perfect ornate buckler dropped for my friend...

What builds r you guys using to farm here?

I have a 55hp monk that i can farm most places, but the tengu shatter enchants. I can get by that, with spell breaker, but then it's next to impossible to damage ettins espically with the new AoE nerf. I also have a nuker, but i have trouble with that too.

I read this thread the other day as am frustrated by never picking up a sup vigor rune. Went on a trip outside Granite Citadel and one dropped for me. My storage gold is looking a lot more healthy now

Found Sup Vigor yesterday.Ettin drop North Kryta. First Sup Vig in over 650hrs of play.If they were easy to find they would cost 100g at Rune trader.End of thread.

As for that screenie, u just laid all the stuff in your invintory on the ground and then killed one of them who dropped that white one w/o a rune on it. Clever little trick. Must have taken a while to get it to actually work too.

I have gotten 4 in my hours of play, which are too many to count. Two were in the same spot in the Northern Shiverpeaks from a rather unexpected creature. I dont know that it is necessarily a farmable spot becuase it is kind of a pain in the ass to get to and there are mesmers, even though the enemies are still just like lvl 10's.

Oh, and if you want to do Ettin farming, PBAoE works. I only stole skill of the build from another guy, but made the rest myself. Casting order is very important with my build. Sometimes i can take out an Ettin with 3 spells.

I use my Nuker to farm this place and it works fine. Only eventual problem is with Tengu at the beggining, but with caution you will pass them.

My build:
Fire Magic: 16 (sup rune)
Energy Storage: 10 (minor rune)
Water Magic: 10 (minor rune)

Add a major Vigor (that's enough)

Imolate (just to finish him when they run away, and is very spamable)
Fireball
Flame Burst
Inferno
Meteor Shower
Mist Form
Fire Attunment
Aura of Restauration

I use a Ragos Staff, but the collectors staff (20/20) with a energy addon and a enchantments last longer wrapping should work.

For pass the Tengus, before aggro, cast Fire Attun. run to Tengu Wild (the caster), it will remove the fire attunment, when you're face to face with him, cast flame burst and inferno, 1 down, cast Aura of Rest (Don't forget or you will die), and attack the ranger imediatly (imolate), run to him if you have to, and cast flame burst that should be ready again, finish him.

For the Ettins is much easier.
Before aggro cast Fire attun, Aura of rest., run to the group, when they start running at you cast Mist Form, and Meteor Shower (they sould be in you face when the cast ends, don't forget to select one target), cast Flame Burst and inferno, if they aren't already dead eventually they will run away and back in a few seconds wait for them and cast fireball or Flame Burst, is done... (while they run away you can imolate them, without have to move away).
Before move to another group wait for energy and Meteor recharge, Life should, not be a problem.

You could replace Meteor Shower with Rodgorts Invocation, for instance, but i get better results with Meteor Sh., cause with Rodgorts Inv. After they start burning, they run away, with meteor Shower at least they will be hit 2 times, maybe more, and knocked down.

Possible problems:
- Bad aggros and you get not only ettins.
- Run out of energy, when they run away don't spend energy with fireball or others, wait for them to come into your face again and only then cast the Flame burst and Inferno, the dmg will be in 3 or 4 foes in spite off 1 that is attacking you. I never run out of energy. Could be near but never run out in ther middle of a fight.


You will need a enchantments last longer, cause you depends a lot on enchantments (Mist Form last 16 seconds with water at 10 will run for 19 seconds, Fire Att and Aura of Rest will run for more 10-12 seconds).

funny thing is one time i solo'd borliss passs for a guildy as my w/mo and got 3 gold armors.

I've been ettin farming for some time. I average a major vigor each run plus some other nice stuff including the occasional monk superior. I stay out and rezone until my storage is full. Second and third times through the drops seem to get better.

Christmas day I got my first superior vigor. Next day I got a superior vigor, major vigor, superior absorbtion and black dye. Next day I got a superior absorbtion.

Just luck, or did they increase the drops for Midwinter?

Try Witmans Folly for runes, you and 2 heal hench. Just grawls. - 2 sup vigour 1 absortion plus some nice monk runes all in a days work.

weres the best place to farm ettins?

I've found them in Lornar's Pass, casters drop them and superior absoroptions comes off of the avicara sometimes.

yeah I've figured it out eventually. I was trying the hard way (as always) - to fight them off while in my 55 hp form

I found 2 sup vigor runes, 1 on a farming trip to SF and the other while skill capping in Snake dance.

Farming ettins has only given me a couple of major runes (not vigors)

easiest place to get sup runes is ettins. i got 11 sup vigors and 2 sup absorbtions. it took me about 3 weeks of farming. but the total amount of cash from runes i got was over 1 mil in gold. i farm the ones outside the ascolone settlement easiest way to get there is to sprint from bergen hot springs.

There is a chest at Abbadon's that gave me 3 superior runes last week, 2 eles (water, energy storage), and warrior (tactics). Hell about a month ago it gave me two sup vig runes.

umm about the chest in Kryta, please PM me as well .. could use some sup monk runes ... hehe!

i have been playin game for about 4 months. i have loads of hours game play. no superior vig or absorb yet been farming for the past 2 months. am i doing something wrong. i dont bother with first group of ettins run to north kryta place and kill all them and just keep zoning between the 2

I always find any rune I need easily.

rune traders are ok if u have a load of cash
but no good for me cause im poor

is there any way i can improve my chances of gettin sup absorb and sup vigor

i dont have that much cash to buy from trader

At the moment not even picking up many majors either. But i am saving up for the 15k a piece glads armor and i need the following rune to go on it.

Superior Vigor
Superior Absorbsion
Superior Strenght
superior Tactics and
superior swords.

The only one i have at the moment is superior sword.

Please let me know any good tips for better pickups.

Why would you want a Superior Strength, a Superior Tactics and a Superior Swords all on one set of armour? Each of those carry a -75 health penalty. Your idea will reduce your over all health by 225.

The drops are random, there's no way to improve it. Some people are lucky and some aren't. It has been stated that the more you farm an area the poorer the drops get. So maybe you can stop farming for a while. Yes, there are more chances certain things drop in certain areas but they can also pop up anywhere. I got a Superior Vigor from killing a boss in the Elona Reach mission.

In my experience superior absorbtion is the rarest, as I have only gotten two in all my farming runs. Superior vigors are also rare, but I have gotten one for each of my six characters and have sold a few.

The 'rune trader' comment was just my weird sense of humor. I don't buy from him ..... only sell to him.

I got a sup vigor 2 days ago on an infuse run in Iron Moledune Mission. After I got infused, I stuck around to help finish the mission and I got it off a Jade Armor at the end of the mission.
