Why do People waste Money on 15k or FoW armor?

You answered your question... Simply because some people care about looks and that they can afford it plus afford good equipment, so for them there is no choice between looks and equipment. Simple as that.

I bought two sets of FOW armor, one for my W and another for my R. If the first one took me hundreds of hours of farming, the second one only took me a month, with no pain... Sold a crystalline for 800K, two IDS for 140K, several major green items for hundreds of K... Easy job this one.

And as for the weapons and things, I have everything I want.

I must add that I love going down in the FOW to buy the armor, it's another kind of xp than just going to the local merchant to "a 1.5K armor please, and two rubies also. many thanks, enjoy ur day "

I have met the biggest noobs with lots of money who actually think 10/10 Sundering and +30hp is any good.

Don't be dissing the +30hp, it's excellent for running purposes

Something to do, nothing better to spend the money on and as far as male Gladiator's armour, it's needed there (droknar Glad's set is really embarrassing to be seen, 15k is a bit better)

if you go through and read the OP's comment, hes contradicting themslef in what they say. You dont want to waste the money on a armor that just looks better than the 1.5k armor and it doesnt inprove the difference. YET you want to buy a perfect weapon when a 10/9 sundering (why youd want this mod) and a +29 health weapson will in reality do the exact same. ok its 1 difference. that 1 extra dmg or that 1 extra health isnt going to save your life or make you kill faster.

So my question to you is give me a reason as to why we shouldnt? i mean according to you that perfect weapons are what to spend the money on and not that 10/9, +29 sword (which the difference between the 2 weapons will buy me almost the full 15k set)?

People who have money will spend it. I bought my fow armor because I wanted too. same with anyone that bought 15k armor. they wanted too. People will continue to buy 15k armors because they want too. do i need it? no, droks armor would work just fine. Did i want it, yes as it looks better and i had the money. did i need to buy better weapons or items? no, i have what i need that suits my different builds and characters just fine.

My main character is a monk and i want the energy from the tatoo armour even though IMO it looks crap, it's the only charcter i would bother spending my cash on, and yet there isn't a nice set of robes or something that will give me the same energy if i went for FOW or 15k armour, i'd just have more crappy tatoos i assume.



I totally understand why people get their FOW and 15k armours when they have spare money, it's all down to personal taste.

We all like to help out guildies—and sometimes total strangers. But, some people have been playing a long time, they have the means to indulge a little bit, even after being generous to others.

I am personally too poor for even 15k armor, then again I don’t devote a lot of time to farming.

But honestly? It’s not like you are choosing between FoW armor and funding the cure for cancer.

It was for me once. I chose an eternal bow instead.

You don't even have to farm to get this armor. One lucky drop and wow, 2 sets of 15k armor for my necro. He doesn't need cool weapons, collector weapons are some of the best things for a spellcaster.

FoW tattoo armour looks the same as any other FoW armour.

Hence my male monk can now use a full energy set without looking like an idiot wandering round in a loincloth.

FoW tattoo looks same for now but I believe when Chapter 2 comes, there will be a update which give unique look for each fissure armor set.

IMO most FoW armor looks like crap. My fav FoW armors are...FemMonk, FemMes & FemEle. That said tho I do want to get some for my FemMonk & FemMes. Why? Mostly because of the looks but also partially because of the accomplishment(non-ebayer here) & the status.

Accomplishment - 5%
Staus - 2%

Final note...FoW armor(15k too) does not mean the person is skilled. ALL it shows is that the person could afford it. How they afford it varies from person to person. Some save, some farm, some HoH, some Ebay.

Didn't Gaile say a couple months back they might add a bonus to 15k and Fissure armor compared to regular 1.5k armor? As in minor buffs but not gamebreaking?
Or was I sleeping again?

Anyway, I hope not, I wouldn't want any of my current armors to get a bonus that I can't really use and have to buy new sets to get something usefull.

oddly enough, one of the guys I used to hang out with at Grotto has two sets of FoW and three sets of 15K that he got by begging.....everyone has their prefered method of money-making ;P

If FoW armor didn't look like crap I'd have it by now but why pay to look stupid...*cough* bling *cough*
