The Entire "we're Awsome" is completly a gimmic that follows up what our guild is. The Homestarmy. Created by fans of Homestarrunner.com. If you would check out the site, you would hear the words Awsome thrown around about 1000 times. We dont think we're better than you, in fact we dont care. We just have fun, and thats what matters most.

Heheh, nice work.
(Forth from the 3manfowgroup here btw)
I normally clear Forgotten Vale and Ice Wastes ( Unwanted Guests included ), but we usually die doing the quest where the 4155451221 terrorwebs spawn. Got it done twice though, but that was when we had an extra person with us capping spider
(Ract, Avarre, me, you two = Tyria Farming League ftw lol j/k )

How do you beat Ice waste , when u depend the "ice king" ?
How do you kill Dryder ?

Eat them..
Just like any other dryder, monk tanks with Spellbreaker, necro kills with spiteful..
Problem is there spawn 24 dryders

Well 2-man can clear Servants of Grenth... with 3, have monk start at the spawn point, and nec nearby. Third person takes the quest, monk uses SB, necro places spites on nearby terrors. Third person arrives and the continuous SB is set up, which the nec places massed spitefuls to quickly bring down clusters of dryders.
And pfft, Homestarmy is awesome, and incredibly so.

It doesn't happen often, but with lucky fast cast/recharges, proper aggroing, and some nice hex placement, Sno and I have been able to actually keep up with the dryder spawns in a 2 man team. Meaning we've essentially killed 1 spawn before the next group comes in. It's pretty wild. That quest is a blast though, tons of kills in just a minute or two and it's straight chaos the entire way through. Still doesn't quite compare to four horsemen, but that quest just makes me shudder.
Avarre, Forth, or Ract. I'd love to hear from you in game. I'd be happy to assist you in any way on that 3-man fow clearing build. I don't actually want to participate in it, but I've got extensive experience in fissure as well and I'd love to see the 3 of you crush fissure in the near future.

Heh, nice job killing them before the next wave spawns
That quest depends on luck for me
Too many showers = constant knockdown and not much place left to run

Ice king has a certain amount of randomness to it. Depending on how the monk dodges showers, the aggro can get screwy on subsequent spawns. Other times you steamroll everything with rock solid aggro the entire duration. Chaos is typical.

Its a fun quest though, the typical 'lots of enemies here, kill them all' sort of griffon-farming mentality thing
Somewhat odd though, I've gotten the quest complete update when only a few dryders have died and more waves have come... does the quest complete when the third wave is summoned or something?

I think it's bugged. This has happened to my group a few times. Don't let the quest update fool you.
I've found that if spellbreaker is up long enough, the dryders can't build up their energy enough to cast meteor shower, before I can recast it. I run with 16 divine favor, blessed aura, and a 20% enchanting mod, which give a spellbreaker of roughly 28 seconds and a downtime of 17 seconds.
If the dryders have a 4 pip energy regen typical of elementalists, then they will regen 25e in roughly 18 seconds, if they don't cast any other skills during that time, and assuming that they were completely drained, 80% of the time you will not see a single meteor shower. Even if they do meteor shower, just have a freshly applied breeze and prot spirit, and you should be able to tank it w/o a problem. If you suspect you are in trouble(ie don't wait for flashing icons it's too late by then), tell you're friends to back off a little, and reposition so you can cast spellbreaker and then reset protective spirit, w/o having the dryders targeting them.
Question: How is blessed aura and enchanting mods applied?
18s x 1.20 x 1.37 = 29.59s = ~29s
or
18s x 1.57 = 28.26 = ~28s

It's not bugged, the quest is defending the ice king while he does his thing. Once he's done the quest will be complete, however you still need to kill all the dryders or something will die (ice king or reaper.) If either die you're done

How long should 2 man uw, monk and necro, take if u clear all smites and coldfires, did a quest, and ended up at the 2nd statue? it took me like 1hour or so? I dont think 1 hou r is normal, but hey, you've done it before.
lambda the great
Alright me and my friend made it to the chaos plains and we were able to take out Banished dream riders and the Mindblade sprectre after it. After we killed about 4 Banished and cleard the Minblades out, the Groupwith the Wailing Lord and the Two banished Dream riders, and 3 Mindblades in it. right before were were going into battle, The necro's Dail up connection sesson ended, and I was wondering if this group after killing the Banished and Mindblades in it would more Mindblades come?
sno
No, with those groups nothing spawns AFTER you kill them, however there is a random spawn of 3 mindblades that pop up somewhere near them. Be careful of those
Ajantis
Still curious as how to beat the 4 horsemen, take on one group at a time, the other rushes the ghost..?
Or do you kill one before the other reaches the statue?

I was think of a new build for 2 man UW,
Mo/R
Mending
Blessed Alura
Healing Breeze
Protective Spirit
Blessed Sig
Blath Spirit
Serpents Quickness - this is so you can use about a constant spell breaker
Whirling Defense -when you dont need serpents quickness, envade and deal . dmg
am i missing anything important. and for thoes who say energy, bless sig could do a weak coverup. i understand that theres 2 stances, unlikly both is not needed at the same time.

the recharge on serpents quickness ruins it all imo, even when you invest large amounts of attr points it's still down half of the time, basically ruining your "infinite spellbreaker" idea
xxreaper008
spellbreaker is about 30 seconds long for me, u cast serpent the second u use sb, by the times the 2nd sb ends, serpents woulb be basiccly reacharge bc its 30 sec period.

I dont think it it can be done because of usually dong a small group for clearing a big job usually includes enchants. And the monsters in tombs will take off ur enchant quickly.

1) Edit post > triple post
2) Clearing UW isn't a challenge, clearing it with 3 people is.
3) Having a 55 monk that is able to tank 9 mindblades, 10+ terrors, 10+ smites, basically anything the UW throws out is somewhat impressive.
4) If you knew anything about fingers of chaos, you'd know it doesn't do anything to a W/Me tank, which is the ideal. So long as you can control aggro and your casters have resolve, the tombs doesn't really have anything that poses a major threat. A Dolyak tank (stance tanks aren't as effective because of the horrific energy burning) and a necro with Enfeebling blood and Spiteful spirit would tear through grasps of insanity, and the scythes don't really hit that hard if aggro is kept.
5) You stated you'd use whirling to do damage. It counts as an AoE and makes things flee, horrible idea. The only purpose of your build that exceeds the current would be to clear mindblades, which can already be done (with a little luck) by 2 man teams. Regardless, new builds are always interesting.

like avarre said, edit your own post next time :P
as for the serpent's quickness, let's just assume you can invest 8 attribute points in wildernis, this would give you 23 seconds of serpents quickness and a 45 second recharge
now, let's indeed assume you can pull off a 30 seconds spellbreaker. so, you activate serpents quickness, and then throw up spellbreaker, serpents quickness ends while spellbreaker is still recharging, your spellbreaker will be recharged in 30 seconds, ready to be casted again, however, serpent's quickness will not be recharged, therefor, after 60 seconds of spellbreaker, you chain ends, as you were not under SQ the second time you casted SB and therefor, it does not recharge faster

Not very often would you need 3 spell breakers, unless maybe on chaos fields.
So can anyone Awsnser my first question. How long should it take to clear all smites, doing first quest, and restoring 1 statue.
Last qustion, where was all of the smites and terror webs mixed up?

That's the ruins of the 'Servants of Grenth' quest (aka: Ice king quest) in the frozen wastes (northern area of Underworld, aka : smites).

To your credit:
* What you did is very impressive. Anyone who thinks that knowing the skills/atts will make them be able to do it has not been in the UW further than Mayor Alegheri. For starters, you'd need to be VERY familiar with the aggro patterns and patrol paths of monsters, something that takes many trips to build. * I am pleased to see you decided to share the build. I believe sharing information makes the collective group better (which is why I am a major contributor to Guildwiki). The first few pages of your thread were very annoying to read. I am glad you decided to go past the bragging part. A Challenge to You: * Me and my monk friend, Panda, have designed a way to 2 man UW and FoW. In the UW, we have been able to do all quests north of the mountains (i.e. the Vale, the Ice Wastes and the Labyrinth). Our build works great against the 6 Mindblades of Escort of Souls, so I suspect it will work well in the Planes too. But I will update you on that. * In the Fissure, we have been able to clear most of the area around the Tower of Courage and we have totally owned the Battle Field and the Skeleton Army. This is our main project right now. 2-man FoW pays a lot better than anything else. The reason I decided to post is because of Sno's assertion that it cannot possibly be done with a 2-man build. I think it is misleading others as well as arrogant to say that. Touchez! Avarre

Well a 2man Necro and Monk group can handle 6 mindblades without too much trouble... using Jerrypants' and Sno's build works easily for the escort quest. However, in areas such as the Bone pits (FoC) and the Chaos planes (9 mindblades is infinitely harder than 6), clearly they required a full SB. Also, if you can find a way to survive 12 terrorwebs and 4 riders at once, coming from multiple sides, while protecting a reaper... let us know temp

Well it's only the last 2 skills I can't get...

My 2man build can clear the vale, ice wastes, the labyrinth, and the twin serpent mountains without a problem. The problem arises when you go to the chaos planes and have to take on 9 mindblades at once. It wouldn't be too difficult if they all came at you at the same time, but they don't. They'll stagger in slowly so you can't kill them as fast as you would kill a set of only 6. It's possible to do, but very risky and doesn't usually work. Again, I'm not saying the mindblades are impossible, but it's very very risky, and usually even if I have enough energy to stay alive (which I can do if I time everything right AND don't get interupted) I won't have enough energy to keep the necro alive through his degen. Assuming by some miracle you get through the chaos planes, you get to the bone pits. If you don't have a spellbreaker on at all times then, theres no way to do it unless you use a non-55hp setup (life steal will own you, not to mention all the other nastiness.)
Spell Breaker, arcane echo, arcane mimicry, Vengeance, Rebirth, Holy veil... and uh.... meh. Maybe inspired hex, no idea on last 2.
mantra of resolve, essense bond, healing touch dump holy veil, the necro carries enough hex removal. healing touch is mostly for mindblades and the bone pits, since they will quickly switch targets and through random nasties at the other party members. A couple feasts in the bone pits and the necro will quickly become a bone horror

Alright, sorry about that I purged my FTP, killing a lot of the earlier pictures. I compiled a mini-version of my best UW shots, which should include most of the ones that were originally posted. They're smaller, but the quality should have been mostly preserved in the bmp.
I've uploaded 2 versions, hope this works for you Low Res (Jpeg version) High Res (Bitmap version). Beware dialup users, 8mb file. If you want to see a full-size version of any of those let me know and I'll post it sno
Here are a couple from earlier tonight. I was messing around after a spider run, and decided to round up all the colds and smites in the area.
Then I decided to go to a different area for more I couldn't have gotten more than that only because if I moved any further SouthWest they would have gone back to their patrols. |
