You can arage a minion so I see no reason why u cant arage a spirit they are both allys.
The max dmg for a staff is 11-22 and its nice to have but overall your staff is going to be used for the mods. All staffs come default with a HSR...
The answer is yes you realy dont have to do anything special, but you can make it alot easier on yourself if you just use the Dwarven Stability...
