load up a game, then bring up the task manager go into the processes tab. what procceses are using alot of CPU ? also check what processes use up...

2 512mb sticks of different brand RAM will work together but i would reccomend going for the same brand because they will have the same CAS...

have u tried a different GPU ?

check how much of ur CPU and Memory is being used up when your computer is Idle and Ingame. vista is a memory hogger.
