As for server speed. Subscriptions ofcourse go to the benefit of the site in many ways, shapes and forms. It does not gurantee an increased speed...
The paypal options opts to use PayPals subscription system to manage recurring subscriptions, you have the option to cancel this in your PayPal...
its actually supposed to load faster if you're logged in since no intellitxt ads load or rectangle ads
