I saw a whole pride of lions, normal Lions and Lioness' IIRC. Not sure of they're tameable though.
Follow the quests when you come from cantha/tyria and you'll get him automatically.

I'm using my Tyrian Monk. I now have about 2K points from mainly quests, still got quests to do that give points so isn't too hard.
Monk maybe? You can always change later on in the game so...
Just found this in a none-key chest (see attachment). Probably from some kind of normal quest, but pretty cool.
