I have farmed outside of ascalon before and got a minor rune from a gold drop so im pretty sure im right.
You can get it in sorrows furnace from axe boss near beginning of SF.
It all depends on where you farm. If you farm in lower level places and find gold drops you will most likely only get a minor or major rune. If...
