The first chaos axe is not max damage, and has a non-perfect non-desired mod. You might be able to sell it in ascalon for 2-3k.
It's a decent staff for starting characters, and as such you could probably get 2-3k in ascalon. The +5 energy mod is worth far more than that...

5-10k if you can find a buyer.
The only thing that's valuable about it is the +30 hp mod. I'd pc it at 40-50k
